Just wondering, how do you find sheet music for this? I mean it's a bassoon, oboe, and a clarinet. Everything makes sense except for the clarinet. You got the ensemble but take out the flue and add a clarinet? Dafaq? Is the music made custom?
Eric Che The music was written specifically for our trio, so what you see here is the original instrumentation. But you're right, this is not the most common type of woodwind trio!
I consider this theme one of the most musical and enjoyable piece of classical music ever written during our modern era. I have heard it played on many different instruments and all version have me emotionally amazed at its beauty and diversity. Who would ever imagine that a game would ever have such a wonderful lyrical melody as its theme music? I look forward to hearing this same theme developed for many more instruments and arranged in many ways. Like I said, it's a classic! We will never get tired of hearing it.
This is wonderful, Ladies! I've listened to bunches of versions of this online, and this is far and away my most favorite version, ever. Hats off to fellow Theme Music member Kyle Gray Young for the arrangement. I look forward to (RIGHT NOW) checking out T.C.T's other videos! Fantastic...Thank you!
I played the oboe 4 months, and then I switched to the clarinet, 9 months ago. I practice about 4 hours per week. The oboe is more difficult for air support, embouchure stamina, pitch precision... the clarinet is waaaaaayyyyy more difficult for fingerings. You have open plateaux, tons of alternate fingering, and crossing the bridge is a non-existant difficulty on the oboe... The oboe has virtually no alternate fingerings, except for 4 ways to key an F. The clarinet is a better choice for me. My upper lip is kinda short and I had no embouchure stamina and control on the oboe. I played the flute 5 years, during my teen years, and the clarinet is waayyy more difficult than the flute. If I eliminate the embouchure factor, the clarinet is a lot tougher than the oboe, and the oboe is on par with the flute... EASY... but once you factor in the reeds, the embouchure, the oboe becomes a monster...
@@ethanmatthews1916 I've done a bit of bassoon and clarinet. Between the two, despite the unique challenges of the bassoon (and not being the best bass clef reader), I'd say being a clarinetist hurts more just because your parts generally move faster. If the bassoon parts had passages like the clarinet parts (and I'm sure there's music out there that does), I'd easily agree that bassoon gets it rougher just because some of the fingerings are so odd.
You can purchase the sheet music directly through the arranger, Kyle Gray Young, at his website: kylegrayyoung.wordpress.com/2014/10/12/super-mario-bros-woodwind-trio/ I hope you'll post a video if you play it with two oboes and English horn! I'd love to hear how it works!

Katherine Hague that all depends on how you see it but for a professional in either they would say it's rather easy but for beginners it all depends on how you learn
Such a beautiful trio omg these 3 sound so well together
We really appreciate all of your feedback! Kyle Gray Young did a wonderful job arranging this piece for trio.

clarinet difficulty is nothing compared to bassoon and oboe except for the fact clarinet always gets really intricate parts
