The whole album Map of The Soul took a psychological concept of a human consisting of Persona (what we show to others), Shadow (our fears and dark thoughts) and Ego (our ambition and drive) and made it into songs exploring all these parts of our psyche. RM rapped about Persona, Suga rapped Shadow and J-hope rapped Ego. They were all amazing 🤩 Looking forward to you exploring more!💜💜💜
NOT tired of RM reactions ever... pause as much as you need. We are all in the same boat. We always have to watch at least twice... once to understand the lyrics and again to appreciate the flows and visuals (and check the lyrics again because we know we've missed something.) lol. Sometimes he goes so hard and so fast. He's so versatile you can bring it and its always going to be fire and always something different! Persona is another fave! "Rapping a letter to himself, convincing himself he's him." Really pretty spot on. Well done. LOVE IT. Just to clue you in... this is on their Map of the Soul album. RM was reading up on Carl Jung's map of the soul or psyche and on this album each rapper took one of the 3 parts that make up a person. So I kind of call it a trilogy of songs. I highly recommend all: RM did Intro: Persona (the part of us we portray to the world). Suga did Interlude: Shadow (there's an mv). The part of us that holds our deep fears and reservations and can prevent us from achieving all our dreams. JHOPE did Outro: Ego (the part of us that is our true self): no mv but this is a good one to watch for it. th-cam.com/video/esTeF_VXgVg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6Ndz9sew8swE-RCq But then I always say follow that up with Black Swan (after the trilogy) because it revisits the Shadow theme where they sing about their fear of what if they should ever lose their love of making music. There is an mv for this, but also any live they've ever done for it is epic too.
Intro: Persona is the first of a trilogy: - Intro:Persona (RM) - Interlude: Shadow (Suga) - Outro: Ego (J-Hope) Together, they describe three sides of psychiatrist Carl Jung's Map Of The Soul, which is also the name of the album. Now that you've started it, you should definitely do the whole trilogy. It not only shows off how different the three rappers of BTS are but also how rap can be used in so many ways - something that BTS has really made me appreciate. 💜
The book "Map of the Soul" was written by Murray Stein about Carl Jung's psychology theories. There is also an (e-)book that interprets these facts through BTS's music.
Hi 👋 We are more than happy to watch longer videos... in fact many of us prefer longer videos tbh... you can really have the chance to grasp the full impact of each song if you don't feel you have to rush and dissect the visuals, audio and lyrics all at once. Maybe you could watch the mv first to get the overall impact and then go back to the start and check the lyrics. 💜
The MVs after this one are ‘Shadow: Interlude’ by Suga and ‘Outro: Ego’ by J Hope. They follow the map of the soul concept as explained by psychologist Carl Jung. You must check it out!
This is kind off radar as far as RM content goes but I think it would be cool if you checked out the “Intro: Skool Luv Affair” from BTS’s third album, ‘Skool Luv Affair’ in 2014, you would surely find it captivating. I mention this one specifically because this same beat of the intro is what RM later used in, “Persona.” You’ll come to find out they’re very intricate like that! This is where each member of the rap line shows their own style of rap essentially for the first time showcasing their variety of sound in the group. First Suga begins with a type of R&B beat, then secondly, J-Hope interrupts and introduces a more upbeat - bouncy type of sound, then finally RM ends it with Bangtan’s style: Hip-Hop. I think this would give you a little taste of the other rappers in the group, plus I’m just excited for you to get to know young RM because he was always that guy! 💜 Note: Btw J-hope calls Suga “Hyung” at the start of his verse, it means ‘older brother or older male friend’ in Korean. :)
Recommend: 1) watch/listen to video without subtitles. 2) watch video with subtitles or pull-up/read lyrics only. This might help you, just like it has for others. 😎
I would say have the subtitles up both times but focus on watching/listening first and lyrics the second time. But have the lyrics up both times, it helps you understand and catch some even without reading or focusing on them and makes it easier to read them the second time too.
If you have time, you could watch and listen to the clip without reading the subtitles first, and then watch it again with the subtitles! You'll get a deeper understanding! But you are usually in a hurry! Apparently you have a time limit. Too bad!
Loved the reaction! Persona was the intro to BTS’ album called Map Of The Soul. It talks about RM trying to find his identity between all the various personas inside him. It all connects to the Jungian psychology, and one of the main principles of it: how every person has three key aspects of their psyche. EGO as your conscious self, the PERSONA is the public mask you wear, and the SHADOW represents hidden, unconscious aspects of your personality. The three rappers took each one of those aspects as an inspiration for their solo songs. RM as Persona, J-hope as Ego and Suga as Shadow. It’s just something to have in mind when reacting to those songs😊
If I can recommend u a song, Outro:tear, i love this song so much and it has such a deep meaning (like all rm and bts songs). Idk, I dont think that you'll do it for now bc its a rapline song (it has suga, rm and jhope), but if you want a introduce to the other rappers before gettng into their solo stuff, I def recommend Outro:tear, it is a must watch.
Each member has a good amount of solo songs that were released under BTS’ name and there’s unit songs too. I recommend Trivia: Love if it’s not on your list yet! It’s also an RM song listed under BTS. Have you thought about which member to listen to next? I want to recommend some songs that are from the rap line but I’m not to sure when you’re ready to start delving into them.
thank you for your action and you're interested in our best leader 💜 Never tired of genius you definitely have to react to his personality content! You should also do his song called still life with Anderson paak and another one on the same album called Yun with Erykah Badu also if you are going to continue with BTS as you should it's a prerequisite to watch the Taylor guide to bangtan 7and the long and hopeful guide to be BTS
Amigo, se que no es RM sino BTS en conjunto pero te recomiendo MUCHO "Black swan" esa cancion, el concepto y la profundidad del tema, creo que te va a gustar muchisimo.
some reactors will watch the video once through without the subtitles so they can focus on the sound and visuals and then watch it again to pay attention to the lyrics. ARMY will watch longer videos as long as they believe the reactor is legitimately interested in learning about the guys and their music. :)
Persona belongs in a "set" with Suga's Interlude: Shadow and J-hope's Outro: Ego. They are related to the Carl Jung's concept of the Map of the Soul (Persona, ego, shadow), so they thematically relate to each other. Suga and J-hope are the other two rappers in BTS. I can really recommend both songs :) As this is the first video I've seen of you, I'm not sure if you are open to songs from the other members of BTS or are following a particular order.
Is there a good lyric video for UGH! now? Please recommend a good one to him and not the usual people react to. The color coded one most react to is both really bad translations and shows the wrong person at times.
I feel trying a lyric mv first then watching the offical mv to focus on visuals more! 🤔 Army Love, Support, and Trust BTS RM! 🙋🏽♀️😍😂👏🏽🕺🏽🎶🎤👑🥇💜✌🏽🙏🏽 #RMPersonaWhoAmI
If he's going to react to lyric videos he has to be careful... a lot of them have bad translations. I would recommend a channel like Dial6137 who uses Bangtan Doolset translations...
i really recomend you to react the explanetion of this song (th-cam.com/video/UE1IWmkHXPg/w-d-xo.html), in this video you can understand soo much more the massege behind the lyrics and the deep things . i hope you can watched💜💜💜 ( english isnt my first languege so i really hope you can uderstant me 😅😊)
Seconding (or fourthing) the recs to watch / listen 2x. Some suggest watching the visuals while you listen to the flow 1st, then focusing on lyrics. I’d probably pull up a lyric set 1st, and THEN watch the video (with lyrics on). Do whatever works for your dominant sense, but do it 2x for the rapline’s work. We don’t mind and it won’t break your brain that way!
