Definitely watch the Guide by Taylor Mairi as it will give you answers and also, not just how they started, but it gives you a bit of an insight into their personalities. As well as being 7 very talented men, they are all goofy and funny people, especially when all together. Everything they produce, from lyrics to MVs has lots of layers of messages and really nothing is just by accident in their work. There is a guide that is 2 hours long, which is definitely worth watching. However, the Taylor Mairi guide is about 40 minutes and is probably an easier start, which covers a lot.
I think it depends if he wants the most up to date introduction which includes their solo stuff past 2022. So if he does then he should do the 2 hour one.
Watch the around 45 min long introduction to BTS called *"The Guide to BTS , The Bangtan 7"* by Taylor Mari. It's accurate up to May 2022 I think but still the best to start with. It's not the latest info but it's very well done, easy to take in, fun and give you all the info you need for now. The longer one you can do later but start with the 45'ish minutes long one and then maybe the one about their hardships etc. I don't think jumping in and starting with the 2 hour long one is great when you are so new to them still.
Min Yoongi is actually a direct descendant of the clan of the last Empress of Korea..Love that you take our advice.. I'm a 59yo Army and i def agree that you would get allot from the guide to bts💜 Bang PD is actually a nickname for the founder of their company and their group The gun Suga uses to shoot the King is a Colt ARMY
12:00 *without honorifics, that's the big thing here. In Korea there are age hierarchy so naming Bang PD without "Nim" is not how you do it unless you are the same age and also same seniority at the company etc etc.
Bang PD created BTS! He was their direct "boss" and mentor and helped write their early songs. They love, admire, and respect him. The flex is about dropping his name without using an honorific suffix. This implies that unlike other K-pop artists, Bang PD considers them friends, not just "employees".
Bang Si-Hyuk, also known as "Hitman" Bang or Bang PD is the former CEO of BigHit Ent. and current Chairman of the Board in Hybe. Bang PD used to work at JYP as a producer/songwriter and in 2005 (if I remember correctly) he started his own agency. He still has a very good relationship with the CEO of JYP.
People will say do the Taylor Mari guide, which is great, but it is from 2022 and has not been updated. I would say the newer guide out 'A LONG AND HELPFUL GUIDE TO BTS' is more up to date and includes their solo work. The only problem is that IS long, 2+ hours. Maybe you could do it in parts? It is worth it. But if you want to know more about how they got together and their rise up the music industry both home and abroad, watch THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LIFE GOES ON - THE STORY OF BTS (choose the UPDATED VERSION). Ideally you should do both guides to get a good overview of BTS. And there are a few more we can recommend in the future.💜
The guide made by Taylor Mari is fantastic, but is more focus on the 7 members, you should definitely watch it, but if you want another guide, more focus on the BTS journey, from basically nothing to toddy’s, I would recommend the Guide from The Rice Squad, they have an updated version until 2022 I think. I’ll paste the link in another comment.
Wait till you react to actual "Mic Drop." But you should react to the Guide (yeah, the one everyone recommends by Taylor Mari). Either now or once you introduce yourself to each of the guys. Whatever you wanna do lol.
The thing that sets BTS apart from the rest of Kpop is their lyrics. Even the poppiest pop song often has deep meaning that you aren’t expecting. RM is probably the best lyricist in Korean. He’s a poet with a genius IQ. Suga and Jhope are right behind him. They say Suga will tell you that you’re shit. RM will explain why you’re shit and Jhope will tell you that it’s okay to be shit. But really, BTS music is full of social and political commentary, addressing mental health and promoting self-love and positivity. Unlike the “boy bands” in the US, very few of their songs are about girls or romantic love. They have elevated pop music to art.
As a female Mexican American Silver Army (67 years young), and a Suga stan - yes, he's my bias, in spite of my overall lukewarm preference to the hip-hop rap genres!!!! Here's my recommendation: definitely take the time to LISTEN to Suga's Agust D's 2016 first mixtape, Agust D! I believe there are only 2 official MV, Agust D and Give It to Me, while there are some fanmade MV, I'd suggest the lyric videos instead for more accuracy! The 2 music videos hit hard and are hard diss tracks, our Lil meow meow doesn't hold back; however, The Last and So Far Away (featuring Suran) are raw and heartbreaking because in The Last he openly admits to his struggles with mental health, including a suicide attempt (bleepped out in The Last). These 2 songs are tissue box neccessary!!!! In 2020, he released D-2, you've seen Daechwita!!!! D-2 hits hard on many different levels, and you can hear the connections to his first mixtape - this is the continuation of the life of Suga! Once again, there aren't many actual BigHit official videos, as the pandemic stopped a lot of production. I consider ourselves lucky we got the genius Daechwita MV and count our blessings! However, there are stand out tracks: Strange featuring RM, Burn It featuring MAX, People (originally he wrote this in 2018 for Jimin to sing, but producers said NO and gave Jimin Serendipity instead), Monsoon, and Interlude: Set Me Free! Okay, I think I mentioned almost the entire mixtape! 😅😅😂😂 Last in his trilogy of total works is his 2023 D-Day album!!!! Pure genius from the first track to the last!!!!!! This must be listened to privately, then you can critique the songs by MV available!!! The sheer genius of D-Day is that Suga makes "closing" connections between the mixtapes and this album. There's the obvious monster trilogy of songs Daechwita (D-2) followed by Haegeum and Amygdala (both D-Day)!!! Daechwita and Haegeum use a traditional daechwita composition that Suga composed into a contemporary version. Haegeum is the lifting of a ban on something forbidden; while Amygdala is a medical term for part of the brain that holds memory and controls fear! I can not pick out any favorite song, as each connects to Suga's previous works and builds into who he sees himself as now!!!! As I said, this is a genius album and was the 2023 album of the year!!!!!!! Suga was robbed!!!!! Every song from the first self-titled track, D-Day hits hard, then Haegeum followed by Huh?! featuring JHope (at his best), Amygdala, SDL (Somebody Does Love), People pt 2 featuring IU (an acquired taste in listening, in my opinion, the weakest given this is a hip-hop rap album), Polar Night (yellow journalism, so important given how badly he was bullied and maligned by Kmedia over his dui kickboard situation), Interlude: Dawn (a nice break), then the last 2 heartbreakingly beautiful rap ballads ever recorded Snooze featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto and WooSung and Life Goes On!!!! Snooze fanmade MV by elisssa is the one to watch, as you see Ryuichi Sakamoto in it; he was Suga's mentor who composed the sad piano mix on the track, he passed away a few months before it was released! Life Goes On about lost love and past regrets!!!!! Okay, I wrote a chapter!!!!! But seriously, LISTEN to them first, that's my recommendation on appreciating Suga's works!!! There are D-Day concert live performance fanmade videos where Suga matched these songs from mixtapes to albums and presented them to his audience; however, there are no English subtitles!!!! But I found them beautiful and showed his talent!!!! I hope this chapter helped! Borahae 💜
Bang P D certainly is an artist but is more known as the CEO of Big Hit who put BTS together, was heavily involved in the successful ascent of BTS from a small almost corporation group to top of the K Pop industry, and who now is a billionaire expanding both BTS and Korean music into the West. His contribution to the success of BTS and its members is often underestimated by starstruck ARMYS who love the members so much they forget all the elements necessary to success that the corporation provided. Bang P D's involvement in this D2 project rarely is acknowledged save by Suga in this name-dropping Daechwita recognition. Sad as the BTS hiatus has led to some ARMYS actually trashing this man who's so much part of the BTS project.
Hola desde México! Solo quería decirte que cuando llegue el momento y veas Springs Day que es mi canción favorita y que se me hace un nudo en la garganta desde las primeras notas veas también "What still dont know about Springs day" de Italian ARMY, esta canción todavía esta en los shart de Corea desde hace años, me gustan tus reacciones saludos
DKDKTV is nomally the go to on explained but for this song he dropped the ball. Some points are wrong(or atleast secondary to the main point of the song) and missed loads of very important details. Bookish theories is the go to for this song if you want to get into the real meaning of this song👍💜
I don’t agree. I think DKDKTV always gives a good Explained video. Bookish Theories is also excellent, but often gives a different super-extended explanation. I think it’s sometimes overkill. (IMO!)
@@sharonlahaye5803 well go listen to Suga's own words on Daechwita video. It is way more aligned towards to bookish theories's theory over DKDKTV views. Again not saying DKDKTV is totally wrong, it does have a "small group of no bodies go up against big gate keeper with help of ARMY" vibe for sure but at it's core it's about the 2 sides of himself (a ruthless king/people's champion aka "the boss") fighting for he wants to be. Edit: In general I agree with you as I have already said but not in this particular case not in Daechwita.
If u will react the whole album of Suga/Agust D, pls start it from his first album mixtape called "AGUST D". His second mixtape album "D-2". And his third album "D-Day". Btw, you still didnt have listen to his song from his 1st mixtape yet

Yes, yes and yes💜 Yoongi is the greatest 💜
bts songs always have a message, even when the song is more casual, fun. the rapline wrote their songs since the very beggining and they are amazing.

Bang pd got the group together he’s the ceo of the label of bts. But he’s also a music producer
16:09 please do! it’s very eye opening as a new listener, specially since the majority of people usually thinks they had overnight success
10:55 Bang PD refers to Bang Si Hyuk who was the CEO of their company
