This was a brilliant watch of a monumental effort. Anything with Marc is always an instant watch, sometimes more than once. Also, well done to Robbie Mitchell for setting such a hard time previously.
Having taken on the NC500, I know how tough it really is. I was truly drawn to tears watching this production and all I can say is "Chapeaux" and a massive "Well done" to Mark Beaumont for his efforts.
based on what I've seen of Hank, I think it'd be amazing to have him on your support team, and I don't care what it is your doing. You could be in line at a cafeteria and no matter how terrible the food was you'd feel like you won with Hank cheering you on as you tried to get through it
Cross Canada. Did that in my teens and it took 30 days - it would be amazing to see Mark do this. Epic, amazing wild country for much of the way. Like Scotland, long long days in the summer. Agree with the comment that your films are getting better and better - absolutely engaging.
The mental toughness to remain committed and focused throughout the challenge really is admirable. Not to mention the physical strain Mark is able to endure. A superb achievement, well done Mark
Of all the GCN presenters to have with Mark, Hank is the one. He has been on some epic rides on his own and with Mark, plus he seems such a positive character to have around.
So happy for Mark. He works so hard, GCN is lucky to have him. I've seen everything with him in it, but it never gets old, I just want more. The white kit was striking and beautiful. Great job.
What an absolutely monumental achievement. As a side note, I really appreciate the relationship between Hank and Mark. The mutual respect and brotherly love is so wholesome and inspiring.
Capturing human endurance and performance at the peak of what is currently possible - just awe inspiring. Well done to all involved in this challenge and to those who have pioneered before, setting the bar so high.
I've cycled the nc500. The fact he did this in just over 1 day is absolutely incredible. I cannot even imagine how difficult this must've been. What an absolute legend.
@@toosas I trained for 9 months having never ridden a road bike before. I'm quite lucky where I am in Scotland that a 15 mile route was around 1.5k of climbing so that was my training for a long time. I upped the distances as I rode more. Then I rode around the Isle of Dunoon as a typical nc500 day for us which was an eye opener for me in terms of time in the saddle and nutrition. Our team completed it over 7 days for charity.
That was absolutely immense!! What a machine Mark Beaumont is!! Huge well done to him and all involved in this record-breaking effort! A truly excellent watch! 👏🙌
Ive listened to quite a few podcasts with MB. He is a humble, interesting, articulate and engaging person. Thoroughly enjoy hearing his views and analysis as he is clearly intelligent and able to convey his views in an accessible way for all to appreciate
Wonderful! What a man! I think I've watched all of Mark's epic challenges and find them so inspiring. I've ridden on and off for 40 plus years and at 62, recovering from blood cancer (Chronic Lymphocytic Luekemia), I'm doing the 100 mile route of Ride London next May in aid of Blood Cancer. Nothing compared to Mark's typical mileage but I'll be re-watching a few of these to put wind in my sails!
Massive inspiration! Well done! After his disappointing summer with RAAM it's so cool that he was able to put that training to use in smashing this record
Absolutely top plaudits to Mark and the team … Marks immense determination, dedication and sheer grit to push through the pain and fatigue is so admirable…. Awesome efforts ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mark Beaumont you sir are a true inspiration. You determination has a ripple effect across the wider audience. Truly deserved and let's not forget the team you had around you. It's people like you that show us all that anything is possible. GCN, great effect! This is brilliant content! I personally would love to see a series of Documentaries of the worlds touch challenges show on a wider platform, with the support from Netflix etc... Again, well done to Mark, to his team and to all those who showed there support. Thanks for sharing this GCN. Looking forward to the next instalment where Hank rides the NC500 taking on 500 coffees 😉🤣👏🏼👏🏼
Hi Tony thanks for the kind words. Have you looked into GCN+ our subscription service, it's brimming with great adventure docs. A full length version of this challenge coming soon! 🎬
Loved every second of the video, great story line, well-paced and serious segments from Hank, amazing editing, epic shots. Also props to the whole support crew who pulled out a 29-hour shift focusing and driving around.
to average just around 30 kph on elapsed time for 28 hours 35 minutes - including all his breaks and everything is just mind blowing. This is a super human effort!! Congrats Mark! And great job GCN for capturing it in such an entertaining way. I know TH-cam calls for 30 minute or less clips to keep viewers engaged - it would be cool to see a bigger production that showed more of the details both on the bike, and behind the scenes of this record breaking attempt.
Love this, really great work everybody (especially Mark!). I like how the team has developed to handle Mark's attitude on the bike (it's tough!); what a great team he has around him. Every time I watch, I just want to get out and ride
Not one to comment usually but what an effort! Hank and the team dealt with it all perfectly and Mark, built of something else. Well deserved by all - legends.
The man is nothing short of an absolute legend. Not many could ride for that long at any pace, let alone break the world record. There is nothing Mark can't conquer
Big congratulations on setting a new world record! The planning, execution and team work is truly world record class. Makes me a proud owner of an Argon18 e119 Tri+ disc bike as well 🎉❤
Absolutely fantastic, many congratulations on the new record! I rode NC500 last year, crazy to for mark to complete in under 29 hours. Well done again! 😁

An absolute monster of a ride, chapeau to you Mr Beaumont. I am full of admiration of your astounding efforts. Buuuuuttttttt.... Am I the only one watching his toe off and hip rock in the early hours, then as the fatigue sets in the beautiful alternating sinusoidal curve Mark's spine draws and thinking either the cranks are too long or his seat has been set too high? 😳
It's a superhuman effort. Incredible work. I've cycled the short B869 Stoer/Drumbeg section of the route, it's only 20 miles or so but has some brutal hills/ramps on it. Ardbhair Brae coming in at 27% or thereabouts is particularly brutal. To think that Mark would have been hitting these sections late-ish on in the 1st day makes the times he recorded on those sections even more impressive.
Goose pumps just watching this monumental achievement! Congrats to Mark! Thank You The Team! Even this is a Man versus physics without a team, love and faith it would be impossible.. Mark, what a cycling!!! 🤩
From following Mark for a while I was inspired to give the NC500 in under three days a ago and managed to succeed. Massively inspirational ride but don’t think I will be trying a sub 29 NC500! Great job and keep up the fast work!
