While I understand the pedigree of the white sole on a moc toe but my OCD would have to clean those weekly...the black sole really makes these pop.

I purchased the Alpine Portage Moc toes at my local Red Wing store and love them. Will Huckberry ever do an exclusive collab with Red Wing that could only be purchased from you guys at Huckberry?? I remember how back in the day Brooks Brothers and JCREW use to have exclusive collabs. It would be really cool if Huckberry did that.

very nice colorway for this classic moc toe. Is it just me or do these moc toe boots from redwing only look amazing on the shelf brand new? as you wear them the toe area stays up because of the sole bending as you walk. this added to the fact that the toe box is so high already, it makes it look horrible lol. The wedge sole wears down quickly and looks very thin also. the boots may fit you but on foot they look huge! especially with the type of denim these days, many being tapered.
Really wanted to see the reverse side of that leather.
They need to make wide 3e!

Don't like that they haven't finished the edges of the leather. Seems unfinished and cheap to me.
It's not that the edges aren't finished, it's a single stage leather that will patina because it has a different core color.... At least it's marketed that way. The truth is it takes months to dye through leather and time is money. So now leather that looks like crap after 3 months is "cool" if you are a hipster. (obviously I'm not a fan either.)

Here's my thing, I love this color but I know this leather will patina.... And I hate leather that does that. I know all the hipsters think that's cool, but I know it's just a cheap way to tan/treat leather.... Long story but short answer, does anyone know what paste can be used to stop the hipster fade?
Leather, and vegetable-tanned leather in particular, is a dynamic material that will age and gather marks over time. I don't believe this green color will age the same way some of the more traditional browns do, but you can always refresh the color with a leather conditioner like Mink oil. i just ordered a pair of the alpine portage moc boots from red wing...i cant wait to check them out!...last week i got a pair of iron rangers and i luv em!...just working on breaking them in...
Redwing has made me sad ive worn pecos 4470 for 34yrs sraight and now they decided to discontinue this line of boots ive been driving all over the country buying up my size hopefully i can get enough to last til my death

Cool and expensive boots that used to be exclusive for work. The term colorway is for sneakerheads. I think 350 usd is alot of money to make a fashionplay and alot of dough for a workboot. But I like em.

The old style of making boots or shoes, they haven't even finished the edges of leather....typical American style, nothing special!!!
