I have had my Barbour Beaufort, with Liner for ~15 years. I bought it from Orvis. I had it Re-Waxed this year through Orvis. Absolute Quality. I just bought a Barbour Wool Ballcap. Thank you for sharing this Huckberry!!!
I've had a dark blue Barbour waterproof and windproof anorak type hooded coat for many years, with the herringbone lining. This Barbour is still my go to garment when I'm down on the beach in the depths of winter time or walking through the forest. It's very warm, it's wind and waterproof, still looks like new and has outlasted my previous Berghaus anorak type jacket by several years. I did consider a Barbour waxed jacket at one time but there's really no need because my existing Barbour is superb. Fair enough, the traditional stylish look of a Barbour waxed jacket is appealiing but not necessary, unless I see a pre-owned one at a good price or a new one in the January sales.
An interesting and informative video. My wife and I both have a Border jacket from the early 80's. Looked after they are as good as new and will outlast both of us..!! 😉
Bought the Corbridge last year at Huckberry. My truly favorite jacket that fits so well. I will keep this jacket forever! Thanks for allowing us to see how it’s made.
Sick Seamaster Ben! I love my barbour beaufort. Idk why, but it just looks so good on the hanger. The contrast collar really does it for me. Starting to be cool enough to wear it finally.
I have 4 barbour jackets and have been to the factory insomuch shields. They last forever and repel rain like an umbrella! I also use one on a motorcycle it is the best thing to keep you warm and dry. I have a jacket I bought in 1972 and it is still going. At first, I thought them expensive but no other jacket can take the punishment as good as Barber when you live in UK!
Another brilliant experience and long time fan of Barbour. Amazing people there and even picked up one from the good folks at Huckberry which I love- cheers !
I have four different Barbour jackets. Ashby, Bedale, Durham and Sapper. All for different weather. I just rewaxed the Durham and Sapper myself. They look like new and i am happy that i can take care of my own stuff. Bedale is my favourite. Goes with every outfit i have 👏
I love factory visit videos! So great to see Barbour, I’m a big fan. I own 4 at the moment with the intention of buying more, definitely. A smart but purposeful jacket.
You bought a nice jacket. I have the same one. I'm happy to see that the inside collar is corduroy as originally it wasn't and the fabric on mine tore. I sent it back to the factory and they replaced it with corduroy to make it more robust.
Yes but the Ursula Jacket that is shown at 0:43 is not as the original military one, which had the two full orizzontally upper front pockets. This is a later one, which is the one that originated the International Wax Jacket. The original one is the one can be seen at 0:55
How is it decided which jackets are made in the UK and which will be overseas ? I've wax jackets from UK ( Beauchamp , Northumbria heavy ) , New Zealand ( Border ) and Vietnam ( Northumbria light )
My first at 71. Wasted so much money over the years on other jackets because I thought Barbour was not affordable. So wrong! Buy once forever. I won’t live long enough now to wear it out. lol!
I've had mine forover 30 years, with a few trips back to the factory for rewaxing, patching, etc. I also remember seeing a picture of (then) Prince Charles in a Barbour jacket that clearly had been patched. Good to know he doesn't believe in fast fashion throw away culture.
Those I don't have anymore were either left on a train ( Watford ) or stolen from the Series III 88 diesel . Owners need to know from the start that storage shouldn't be folded up in a plastic bag until next year . Musty can be eradicated with a warm hand wash and bio detergent ; that surprisingly doesn't remove much wax , but does remove/destroy mould spores .
Sorry to write back again. I have checked on web as well as Barbour website, the jacket you did buy was not having belt around waist but Barbour International Waxed Jacket has got a belt. Please can you specify your jacket exact model no and colour. Thanks & Regards,
@@mohammadsalman5297 Ben got this specific jacket at the Barbour factory store in South Shields, and it is most likely a factory exclusive, or a jacket from a previous season. The closest jacket to this is going to be either the Barbour International Original Waxed Jacket or the Barbour International Winter SL International Wax Jacket. Hope that is helpful!
I have three Barbours. I wear the Beacon Heritage (The Captain Cotton (Falklands war) with grenade hangers) the most, then the Trooper. If you buy one, you will be able to wear it for thirty years before you wear it out. They are not breathable and they become heavy when wet.
The jacket at the end of the segment, is that from the international collection? I like how it breaks at the waist. Does anybody know the name of the jacket?
That one is great! But it doesn’t look like the one on their website. Yours looks green with no obvious tartan inside, and no belt. Now you HAVE to get that one on the site!
When was this filmed? I work at Barbour head office so would have loved to say hi. And whinge at you about frustrating it is to be a UK based Huckberry fan... 😆
I did a little research and the only Barbour styles currently made in the UK are the recent collaboration with Baracuta. You can find those on the Barbour website.
I bought an excellent Corbridge jacket, I thought I’d bought British, but it’s NOT! It’s MADE IN MOLDOVA… I found this on the care label ‘hidden’ inside the left pocket.😢
A very nice video. A pity that if one purchases one jacked that comes out incorrectly made and one demands its repair, Messrs Barbour will not attend to it and will return the untouched garment. That's why my following jacket was a Belstaff. Regards.
Can anyone tell me the name of the only leather Barbour ( at 0.42 seconds in…) I have seen in my life. I never knew they existed. In fact, it looks very similar to a Tommy Miller Belstaff biker jacket which is an iconic jacket and hard to find. I am an avid Barbour and Belstaff owner for a few years now and am curious to know about this, what resembles, a leather jacket. By the way, that jacket you bought ( the international range in Europe) really looked good on you. Another (MUST HAVE) tempting gift for Christmas!
If you pause at :42 you'll see it is called the "International Jacket". It looks to be part of a display there at HQ and unfortunately, we don't have any more information about the specific model.
Barbour please make more fitted models, for us slim guys ! I have the Corbridge and I love it, but 99 % of your jackets are boxy and the sizing is weird, often sleeves are too short as well..
Another company that aint what they used to be, still living off the name they once had, such a shame, ive tried a few times to buy one but always found faults so returned them and ultimatley gave up, dont even strat me on the sizes, most have too high of an arm hole so if your on the shorter side in height and have anything near a 40 to 42 inch chest good luck getting one to fit, Levis are another company with the exact same problems, also keep in mind that most are not made in the UK anymore, if any, if your a short fat farmer, look elsewhere :)

I went and put on my Barbour Beaufort halfway through the clip. Continued watching after.
Good choice 😂
❤
Haha I did the same with my Classic Bedale.
I bought my very first Barbour jacket today at aged 40 it's never to late to join the party😂 great video and history lesson from Cardiff Wales UK.
Best thing about this time of year is digging out the Barbours!
Hard to argue with that!
The history, beautiful energy of the place, and the hands who make them lends itself to each being a special thing.

I find that the cuffs wear real fast. Especially were they are rested on tables etc
@Kennybooy9= The cuffs do wear, especially when one has a dog aiming for the ball in hand and inadvertently catching the cuff !
Oh, thank God, one of the great English businesses that hasn't sold out and left for China or Pakistan!
