Is it really that necessary? I haven't learnt them in 3 years of cubing lol, just use edge orientation.

It is possible to go even further with 2 look OLL. I average almost sub 12 on 3x3 and I use partial 2 look. I averaged 13 with full 2 look.
my best average of 5 with 2look oll is 10.53 so yes it is
@@DashCantTap lol I still only know 56/57 OLLs, and I recently hit a sub-9 ao1000. so long as you have a consistent and quick setup for 2 looks, they can be almost on par with a 1 look alg.
i rarely ever get dot cases, but if i do, its easy to do semi-EO by either using sledge/hedge or the three move insert, or i just have to use the 3 move pair and insert.
I look at an algorithm and I repeatedly do it after a few minutes i learned multiple algorithms
i learned almost full pll, except g perms, i knew the algs but i was bad a recognizing
dot cases are so easy to learn.

Just learn four of VHLS dot cases
They are easy and useful which turn your dot OLL into cross OLL

+legoboyz3! An easier alg for the case at 3:17 at least for me is R' U' (2x sledge hammer) U R since it uses no L moves
so id call myself a beginner and i had learned beginners method like the back of my hand, and i became pretty fast at it. my best time using a completely intuitive first two layers and memorization of the 3 dot cases i was able to solve it in 45 seconds. only now am i realizing that i memorized some OLL it amazes me that i was able to learn all of the dot cases in just a few days, and i'm absolutely braindead when it comes to every other method/alg. i am currently trying to learn F2L 😂
Damian F keep doing f2l intuitively it's easier to do instead of learning the separate cases

Thomas Mako I never learned full OLL. There's a lot of cases, I probably only memorize half of them but I still was able to get my pb down to around 20 seconds

Big Cubes : CFOP

I know I haven't watched it yet, but that's crazy, like, not even the algs themselves, I could probably learn that many in 4 days, but the recognition is what would get me, the reason I generally only learn 1 alg a day.
G perms take longer than a day for recognition though

you can just sledge your last pair and you can save yourself on 6 algs. so there's only 51 to learn instead of the 57

You can’t avoid dot cases if last pair is 3 move insert
If you normally would insert it with R U R’, then I would just do something like R U’ R’ U2 R’ F R F’. I have learned the dot cases since then, though.

Alex, that channel that stole your content is actually stealing others' as well! Something must be done.

It took me 4 days to learn 8 algorithms (begginer method) but this mad learned 57 algorithms in 4 days. *geez*
To be fair beginner method is more than 8 algorithms. It’s your first time learning the cube, you’re learning intuitive tricks, what to look for, and other principles. By the time you learn Oll you’re very well adjusted to the cube.

I think you shouldn't learn full OLL until atleast sub 12. I personally achieved sub 12 with no full OLL no problem.
I also think that it’s definitely unnecessary until at least sub-15, but as I said in the video, it was totally just for fun. Either way, learning it at any speed will still drop about a second off your times, so why not?

I learned full PLL in two days but haven't learned full OLL yet.
This is EXACTLY what i did in 5 days, but people didnt believe me!!!
It looks so hard to recognize the cases please tell me some tips 😭😭
Draw the cases, and right down the algs next to the drawn cases. Learn them in groups, so start with the dot cases or the square cases first. Keep practicing a couple of them until you don’t have to think about it, learning this won’t save you any time if you’re pausing as soon as you reach them anyways. Just keep repeating it over and over.

Okay so I average around 10.5 with 2 look and possible last slot EO. How much faster do you think I could get by just learning full OLL?
It should decrease your time by however long it takes to do half of 2-look OLL (or maybe slightly less than that). At your speed, probably close to a second.

Man improve your efficiency, I only know 10 - 15 OLLs, and almost all PLLs, but I get 20 - 23 second solves due to good look ahead.

Blockbuilding isn't really something you can learn in a few days, it's something that takes months of practice to get gradually better at.

How have your times improved since learning OLL?
My times have been really inconsistent because of my bad lookahead, but it seems to be a little easier to get times ~1 second faster than normal.

No. OLL comes before PLL. Before, I was just doing OLL in 2 steps.

That's just because I started with a solved cube, reversed the algorithm, then executed it on camera. You always have a PLL afterwards.

Yeah, kinda. I'll try to get better at it someday, especially for improving in one handed, but for now I'll just stick with my CFOP+EO, lol.
So... Your doing ZZ top? Meaning you orient cross and F2L edges, but not the last layer edges?
Because otherwise, you would not need full OLL.
No, I meant for OH. I do EOline+cross edges, then basically use CFOP with an easy OLL and no rotations. I just use CFOP for 2H.

I’ve spent six hours practicing the dot cases, I probably could’ve moved on but I’m trying to have them all down fast where I don’t have to think about it when I get to it. If you learn these Algs quick you’re not gonna really improve that much cause you’ll pause every time you reach your case or you might just forget the Alg entirely.
