this is the first time i actually see someone transforming a cube into a speedcube legitimately, i mean not just lubing and screwing it loose, but doing things to make its preformance as pristine as possible. from the beginning of 2019, i have watched you, and i fricking wonder why i didnt sub to you yet, so here you go, a sub from me :)

To fix those hollow pieces, mix together resin and hardener, then put them in those little hollow pieces and sand them down. That will fix the hollowness as well as making the cube smoother. I hope this helps.

(Fwi I got a $14 4x4 from them. After the first 3 weeks a piece fell out. I keep using it and one day the whole thing including the core exploded it and the (not so anymore) cube is still in a bag.

No it's not at all. With this much setup, Rubik's brands can be better than even some budget cubes like the warrior w. Honestly I might make a video sometime setting up a Rubik's brand, because they aren't near as bad as everyone thinks.

I had a very similar cube I modified, sanded out all the pieces in the style of my gan, magnetised it and got a 15-second solve on it, very pleased with that, in the end though i turned it into a penrose because I never had one and they seem intriguing
Be fun to make a bunch of these and hosting a competition with really experienced players and have them use this for the challenge. Wonder how many of them will break it apart accidentally

I like this vid as it also taught me, that my old 3x3 (that is literally built the exact same way, and is actually larger than my current main rubik's brand) still has a chance to be used, i just wanna mod it for it to turn faster, and be more fluid, AND TO STOP LOCKING UP ON 1° CORNER CUTS!
Also no im not planning on making my cube a whole competitive cube, just one that would work a bit better than the rubiks brand i got, that one turns well, but still kinda sucks at corner cutting, and its heavy, so yeah, i think you get my point.

you could have used apoxie sculpt and sanded it down to fill down the hollow places in the edge piece

I think I had a cube like that once, it broke so terribly I ended up tossing it. It was pretty cheaply made, obviously some weak kind of plastic. I bought a good cube much later, just this year actually. It’s pretty good for me.

You could have added a modding dough and put it in the pieces and let it dry and then send it out to make the plastic smoother

you should put epoxy sculpt into the pieces so it wouldnt catch as much.
To get rid of that hollowness to go away you should fill the pieces with hot glue and sand it smooth so if wont pop so much
