You've probably thought of this, but some sort of basket/box situation is probably going to be the move for the top of the kitchen cupboards? You may be able to get some that are kinda minimal and maybe just a light grey plastic or something so they blend in with the cupboards, and I think then that will work for you're going for? Then you can just put the stuff you use rarely up there. And bc there are so many of these organisational things, you may be able to get a really good fit for the depth/height of the space if you look around too I'm also considering a green/burnt orange vibe in my bedroom so im looking forward to seeing how yours turns out

I absolutely love your before flat but I understand wanting the change. My apartment is very grey and dark both because the walls/cabinet it came with and most of my furniture I got from family getting rid of stuff so I'm tired of my muted colors haha and am trying to add more color in. But maybe if I had your apartment eventually I'd want to go the other way too. Looking forward to the series and seeing how you change up the place!

Not necessarily! It’s basically taking something and completely changing/upgrading it from what it was before :-) people definitely are familiar with it from house flippers though!
First for me would be to replace the wallpaper. That would change the aesthetic immediately. That print, while really cool, is a bit too stimulating for me every day. I'd do either a concrete like textured or a quieter geometric MCM wallpaper, like the featherpalm or starburst but in white tones. With the images you chose (and with most MC rooms), you'll notice the walls are usually a sparse white or beige and have loud art pieces and furnishings to add the color. And while I love the records being displayed, it does de-chic and college-ify the space. I think if you replaced the wall records with a Mark Rothko style piece and get a really interesting vinyl holder that seconds as an art piece that would slay, it would elevate the space ALOT. Also, though it may not fit the minimalist aesthetic, one way to add fun to a serious space is to do an Alexander Calder style mobile in the corner. Have fun!! I am trying to practice sustainability and underconsumption in my own life, I'm really jealous of your art talent and wish I could edit my space so easily like you can yours with your art.
