Yeah there is pins for three different wire sizes. But with some extra care, you can use same pins for different wire sizes. It of course isn't the "correct" way to do, but fine for me.
Hey Pazi, im trying to learn about wiring and ive been doing a lot of research lately, and i managed to found bunch of useful informations, but i couldn't find an answer for some questions of mine, i'd really appreciate if you could help me. Is there any difference in C101 connector between 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder cars? Is there any difference between US and EU cars when it comes to C101 connector? In other words, can US Bentleys wiring diagrams be used for EU cars? E30 have C101 connector, E36 have X20, and E39/E46 have what? I know there isn't that round plug like in E30 or E36. I'm trying to figure out wiring M52TU/M54 into E30 and i'm not sure what kind of plug is used to connect the engine harness to the chassis. Is there few of them instead of one, and are they called x60004 and x60001? Thanks.
I'm almost 100% sure that those are basically same between regions. The only real difference is that US cars usually have more pins populated. Ie. there can pin for CEL light in US, which isn't there in EU versions. But basics should be same. And yeah e39/46 use two connectors to interface with the car.
It's not needed. You can program the ecu so that it doesn't need it. But on the other hand, you can also run vss signal from e30 cluster output to the ecu.

Hey pazi, would you happen to have the wiring harness pinout for E39s? It has 2 or 3 connectors instead of the big X20, and I can't seem to find any info on what wire is what. I could just assume they kept the same colors, but that's a bit dangerous to assume. :D Any sources for that? Or at least the connector names so I can search for their pinouts?
hey @pazi88, question. what if i remove those un-sed wires completely from the loom. i mean, re-do the insulation and get rid of everything that is not used. will i face any obstacles with it ? or i wont be able to do that because they are connected anywhere else ? thanks :)
Hey man. My M52 harness from a 98 328i also has the x6031 connector by the X20. Is the wiring the same? Ive done M50 harnesses many times, just not totally sure what to do with the X6031. Lmk Thanks
Hello pazi88 quick question here is it the same to use a 97 328is harness and modify it like you did or should I look for a 93/94 harness out of a 325. I'm doing a m52 swap out of a 97 328i but the harness looks different from yours thanks in advance. I know I have to delete ews secondary air system to. Also mine has two ecu one for dme and another for trans dme I think.
Z..... 325 is with m50 so you can't use it with m52. Those are totally different. The harness is probaply different because it's from automatic car. But the modifications will be the same. The second ecu is for the transmission and it's not needed if you do manual swap.

My car e34 m50nv. Now m52 motor swap and harness swap. All good but 2 have problem. Abs dont work and temperature gauge dont work. Help me please. Swap motor and harness 1995 e36 ms41
Abs has nothing to do with engine swap, so it's something different. And to get temp gauge working, you need to add the original m50 instrument cluster temp sensor to the m52 and wite it in.

Because Im using standalone Megasquirt ms3x ECU So this modification will keep the tacho working and what not right expecially when I tap into the tacho meter for the ECU to make it work?> thanks

Those are the middle size (61131376193) but i would recommend to get few of the biggest ones also because there is few wires that are thicker than others.

Ihan tarkotuksella ollaan hommattu noita vanhempia e30:jä, ettei tarvi semmosia turhuuksia ruveta värkkäämään :D Ja jos jotain uutta autoa on tulossa pajalle projektiksi, niin se varmaan menee e39 akselille, koska niiden hinnat alkaa olla pohjamudissa ja nykyään kun niitäkin saa ahtaa ;)

I know that you can get those but I don't agree that those are affordable. For example these are almost 200USD: www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=359485 and after shipping and tax those would be close to 300 USD in Finland. Compared to that you can do this with few hours of work and parts cost less than 10€/USD
please please please can someone tell the full cost of turboing the m52 but leaving the engine stock. i have a e39 and wanna wake up to a snap crackle pop every morning :D thanks internet...

the part number is for one pin. But normally they only sell those in pack of ten.

Se toinen liitin on lähinnä automaatin ja OBC:n piuhoja varten. Jos et oo jompaa kumpaa käyttämässä, sen voi karsia pois

Slaytanic You can use it and you don't need wiring diagram. The colours should be the same so just check them with multimeter as I did.

When doing standalone Do I just tap everything into the original wiring harness using a diagram online to find what I have to tap into what?

Slaytanic Yes you can do it. It's not end of the world if there are few metal pieces left in the coolant channel after tapping the hole.

youll have to run small amounts of boost then if you want to leave it completely stock...
