What am I talking about?
My topic is the KE-Jetronic injection system which I try to demystify as much as I can.
For all of you to understand the system in brief - Developed in 1973 and being mounted into cars up to 1993 as it went in history. But why these to letters!?(KE) K(from German "kontinuierliche Einspritzung" meaning continuos injection, without interruption) the MECHANICAL injection system on which the fuel starts flowing from the fuel tank sucked by the FUEL PUMP and delivered to the FUEL DISTRIBUTOR which sends fuel to the INJECTORS while the majority of it flows through the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR through its return line back to the fuel tank again. The letter E(elektronische Gemischanpassung/electronically controlled mixture adaptation) has to mark the electronic sensors (the developement starting from early eighties) which had to inform the ECU about the current state of the engine so that the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) then could create current signal in mA(miliampers) and send it to four crucial components for the system - the EHA(the electro-hydraulic actuator, a unit consisting of a magnet, an electromagnet and a baffle plate) which had to fine tune the engine in each of its phases, the ICV(the idle control valve), the unit which was predicted for the engines perfect idle, the X11(the diagnostic socket) where the duty cycle(the ideal mixture) was adjusted and the X11/4(the code reader) - the socket which from any codes were read if present using an OBD1 scanner.
An extraordinary injection system which could be fully repaired in your own garage using a multimeter and a pressure gauge only for its fine tuning, together with some common tools.

@@mercedeske Hello sir. I watched your video and tried to reduce the high idle speed. But I was not successful. Don't worry, everything is in place but when I reduce the idle speed, the engine starts to shake. It normally runs at 12-13, but when it drops below 10, it starts to shake. What does one do when one's airflow sensor plate has gone slack? I released the spring tension on the plate and now that I have reinstalled the spring, the sensor plate seems not to want to balance correctly as it should. Are you able to help?
You will have to center it. It's a pain, I know. I spent hours centering it. The best way is with two papers 📃 The thinnest one like a bill from the store and then bit by bit you will have to align it correctly.

Ese tornillo determina la proporción de combustible a aire. No lo toques si no lo has hecho.
Yo claro ví el vídeo de the initial mixture adjustment ese es para la mescla pero si cierro todo el tornillo cuantas vueltas sería a la derecha
Como he dicho. No lo entregues por completo, harás un desastre y te darás un dolor de cabeza. Entonces tendrás que hacer lo que yo hice y si lo haces, ¡que Dios te ayude a que todo vuelva a ser como antes!

@@mercedeskemaestro es q no sé si me explico mejor por qué yo lo q necesito es reducir el paso de gasolina por qué para que prenda tengo que quitarle el rele de la bomba y darle arranque xq se inunda de gasolina y yo gradué el AHE cómo UD .
Al principio no debe tener el flujo de combustible en el encendido. Si es así, o bien hizo que la mezcla fuera demasiado rica girando demasiado el tornillo de mezcla en el sentido de las agujas del reloj o si ha vuelto a montar el distribuidor de combustible incorrectamente. En el encendido, la bomba de combustible debe funcionar durante aproximadamente un segundo, no constantemente. Es por eso que les he estado diciendo que la placa del sensor debe tener un espacio antes de que toque el émbolo y, finalmente, con respecto a la mezcla inicial, ese procedimiento se realiza si la causa de que el motor no arranque es el tornillo de mezcla. Todos los ajustes finos se realizan después cuando el motor está caliente. Entonces, si tiene un flujo de combustible constante, es porque hizo la mezcla demasiado rica o si ha estado restaurando el distribuidor de combustible y no atornilló la manga allí donde se supone que debe estar, ya que no tengo estos información entonces no puedo decirle la causa exacta de nuestro problema.
@@mercedeske gracias maestro pero el tornillo de mescla abre a la derecha y cierra a la izquierda . UD llama distribuidor de combustible en el encendido es al dosificador me imagino . Y de cuál manga es q UD me dice disculpe tanta molestia cuando tenga un chance me contesta maestro.
Hello Ivica, is it possible to change the default position of the potentiometer contacts without the dismantling of the whole meter like you did in the video?
Hello, Jan. Yes, it is if you are not replacing it, you will just have to loosen the torx screws a bit. If you are replacing the potentiometer then you will have to remove the pressure regulator in order to get physically to the sensor. Greetings
@@mercedeske thank you for you answer. I have the potentiometer off already. I set my sensor plate to the right height with that little pin and hammer like you did in your video, because it was too high (pushed up by backfires). The only thing the two prongs on the main shaft of the airflow meter that you see when you take off the potentiometer are way too high to be able to read anything more than 0,2V even if I set the potentiometer to the highest with the torx screws. I need to get them lower in order for me to get even the 0,7 volts :O
Is there a way for me to do this? Thank you!
@@mrazekjan96I really can't give an answer to that question. If I told you how to lower them, then you might not set them as it is supposed to be. I can think of something if they are way too high. I will make a post for members only.

@@mercedeske Dear Ivica! I think we fixed it. My plate arm was welded just like in one of your videos...LPG ... so someone already took it appart in the past. Now when we dismatled the air flow meter, we found out, thst the two screws holding the shaft werent tightened fully and the prongs on the shaft moved! So we loosened them just half a turn and moved the prongs lower aproximetly into the position and fixed the two torx scres in. Now my potentiometer can finally read the voltage! What I need to do now is adjust eha, because its a second hand one :) Thanks for all your good work!

Bonjour ivica pour moi le distributeur a déjà été assez compliqué alors pour le débitmètre je vais jamais démonter celui là la seule chose que je ferais avec le débitmètre c’est de le mettre dans un sceau avec du gasoil pour le nettoyer mais jamais je vais démonter sa bien le bonjour de la France 🇫🇷 la 190 roule toujours pour le starter j’ai trouvé vannes d’aire thermochauffante hs
Bonjour mon ami. Je ne ferais jamais ça sur ma voiture non plus. Cette vidéo est faite juste pour montrer comment fonctionne le KE et pour vous le montrer. Donc, comme je l'ai déjà dit - vidéo éducative. Je suis ravi de savoir que le 190E fonctionne toujours et qu'il va fonctionner, ne vous inquiétez pas, vous n'aurez aucun problème avec le système.
