I was shocked when I saw Public Image Limited on here. I didn't think ANY reactor would do one of their songs. My favorites are "Religion", "U.S.L.S. 1", and "Warrior". Hint Hint. Oh yeah, and more Nina Hagen would also be nice.
There are a lot of different versions of this song live and on vinyl or cd. One of the most interesting bands in the 80ies and further. Many different musicians in the course of the years, but always great!
This is definitely post-punk. PiL’s early albums are very experimental - almost anti-melody, with a lot of emphasis on beat and rhythm. They became a lot more poppy as the 80s progressed. This song is kind of from the middle of that transition and was a dance club hit in the UK.
There is a particular studio version of this that beats any live version or the official single release PIL bridged many eras of music. I think most punks would describe the band as: punk/ post punk/ new wave Best albums: Album, 9, Happy and That What is Not
Best albums definitiv No 1. Metal Box No 2. Commercial Zone (its better than This Is what you want...) No 3. first issue No 4. Flowers of Romamce Than all the others
As good as this song is this comes off of their last good album and anything off of First Edition or Second Edition would be far better. Poptones, Chant or Public Image would be excellent examples.
I reconice the gitaar rif its from a athore band and a realy big one they called LIVE . I think they are from Australia. They get famous whit i'am overcome after 9/11 . this song whas connectit to the terrorist act . also the song when dolfins cry is very famous. This band is has the same gitaar medly in one of there songs. 🙌🙌
I don't know what this is. but I've been dancing to it for the last 40 odd years. Particularly when loaded with yokes. Mr Anticool himself. John Lydon. the world needs balance. For more feel of what one might find banging out of a speaker. in a dark underground club. check out songs like 'Into the unknown'. by Killing Joke, off the 'Pylon' album
Yeah, this has to be one of the best performances of this classic PIL track, and so rapt to see you guys react so positively to them. Now for some Sex Pistols or The Professionals, but guys,if you need to travel overseas, come on over to New Zealand where we are Covid free in the community, and concerts and gigs have been going on for close to a year now.
The B-side are Public Image. Great number. John Lydon says Hello severel times in different voices. Then he starts singing: You Never listens to a word I say. The number has a groovy and heavy bass and a great guitar Sound. Check it out
Post punk indi pop. PIL were fantastic and fitted in with the likes of The The, Bauhaus, Magazine, The Cure and early New Order just after the transition from Joy Division. This was music for old punks that were starting to want more depth but not so much as to be considered intellectual, pompous or arty which was definitely me 🤣🤣
Kangaroos crossing the road IS like deer crossings in Canada and the States. They are a SERIOUS nuisance and am hazard. On a different note, P.I.L. is amphetamine-driven Post-Punk music (to contrast with heroin-inspired post-punk and neo-psychedelic rock); but in truth they’re also sort of their own genre-as I’ve never heard any other group sound like them and my favourite groups were all post-punk from 78-‘84 or so. If this is your cup of ointment, Czech out ‘Pssyche’ (7” vinyl version), by Killing Joke.
When they play in front of 50000 fans they do better and listen to a Christmas concert 1976 show great he wrote mother dies and being in coma when he stayed in it when came he didn’t now how he was
Every song I've seen you react to, you've chosen the worst possible most anachronistic version. I'd have reacted to the original 1983 music video of the studio recording as opposed to a live version performed by a different line up, 30 years later 😒

I would love to see Rise tbh.
I loved them when I saw them
Rise is my favourite also. John Lydon much underrated. World Destruction with Afrika Bambaataa another great tune.
Wow what a great choice. Johnny Rotten with his band PIL with a classic song from the 80s. Love it.
The Genre is called Public Image Limited
It's Post Punk. Try some Bauhaus, Killing Joke, Siouxsie and the Banshees...
I would add Front 242 , Cabarait Voltaire , The Art of Noise ...
thank you!!
Helter skelter cover by Siouxie, just amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You need to react to Flowers Of Romance it’s such a experience holy shit. They were on something else back then maaaan
Thanks for this. Glad you enjoyed it your reactions to a classic are truly genuine.
Dangerously sharp minded Johnny (Lydon), love that unpredictable legend
There are a lot of different versions of this song live and on vinyl or cd. One of the most interesting bands in the 80ies and further. Many different musicians in the course of the years, but always great!
70 next may ,no ive never grown up ,love it,great to find rhis sort of stuff still gets airtime
Were support band them when they came to town (Brisbane) in'88
PIL is post punk. Other acts to check out: Killing Joke, Gang of Four, Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, Gary Numan
You can't put them into a genre except PIL
John Lydon calls a spade a spade and that's it end of story

In Denmark we have ducks and ducklings on the roads. Not that dangerous, haha.
Steve Vai played on the generic album.......there are some true gems on that album....it's worth a listen for sure...
This is a masterpiece❤
You guys gotta listen to Public Image limited song EASE, Steve Vai absolutely shreds the shit out of his guitar. Love it
PiL has no genre. ) LOL they appeared like an underground art project.
There is a particular studio version of this that beats any live version or the official single release

"Nargh" 🤣
Late seventies post punk, one of the better bands that time.
This is my favourite PIL song, closely followed by public image
I love the Bossa Nova cover by Nouvelle Vague.
Even though the original was played by Keith Levene, when I think of PiL I think of the late great John McGeoch.
I got to see sex pistols live in San Diego in '03....was f'ing awesome
Kinda reminds me of David Byrne's energy in Stop Making Sense
Time for some SERX PISTOLS Reactions now !!!!!
As good as this song is this comes off of their last good album and anything off of First Edition or Second Edition would be far better. Poptones, Chant or Public Image would be excellent examples.

Post Punk into Early Goth is some of my favorite music.
You guys should react to PIL "Double Trouble" 👍
Yeah, this has to be one of the best performances of this classic PIL track, and so rapt to see you guys react so positively to them. Now for some Sex Pistols or The Professionals, but guys,if you need to travel overseas, come on over to New Zealand where we are Covid free in the community, and concerts and gigs have been going on for close to a year now.
thank u

Have the single from back in the days
The B-side are Public Image. Great number. John Lydon says Hello severel times in different voices. Then he starts singing: You Never listens to a word I say. The number has a groovy and heavy bass and a great guitar Sound. Check it out
It was around the same time I bought Time Zone - World Destruction. It were Afrika Bambaataa and John Lydon

Pil blows away the pistols.

You should react to the much better studio version or the early live versions, this is a complete different song.
Slaughter To Prevail - Baba Yaga check pls
My Fav in the 80´s !!!!!!! Aka Sex Pistols
This is PUNK. But check out CRASS, for the 'real stuff'
