His dual exhaust was nuts. I put it into M mode and knew it was on. Just the feeling of those little pieces of protruding plastic from the sides of the steering wheel inspired confidence. I launched into 1, 2, 3, 4 as fast as the car would allow. I rolled a Yaris. I am now super confident that I await a Prius at the next stoplight. I'm ready for you now!
I think automanual is the way to go if you depend on the car everyday. You can go full auto while drinking some coffee in commute & have a little manual fun on the weekends.

in manual cars, if you dont upshift, youll blow your pistons out of your hood. but id say for first gear your mph should be 10-15, maybe 20, and then 2nd gear should be around 25-35, 3rd should be around 40-60, and so on
2nd (if you know how to drive) drive and shift when you feel like it just make sure your not redlining or not shifting at all (unless your staying in one gear cruising)
My 2017 VW Passat R Line has paddle shifters, and you do not need to engage the Tiptronic on the gear selector to use the paddle shifters. It's an either/or.

Dowshift when you intend on slowing down and your rpm is no higher than 1500-2000 rpm until you hit first gear, and you want to be at first gear when you are completely stopped. So lets just say you didnt downshift quick enough and you are in 2nd gear fully stopped then just downshift again even if you're not moving. Hope this helps

No, its met to do that. The reving you heard was from the car engine breaking which is normal for an engine in a low gear with no acceleration.
