Hi Jan, do you have a video on overlooking each side of a square? Do you do each side and come off the end and snip or is there a trick (as you can't pivot the needle)
A sewing machine has one thread on top, one below. The 2 thread lock in the centre of the fabric (if your tensions are correct!). This stitch doesn't naturally stretch. An overlock (serger) stitch is 2 needle threads, which are held in place by an upper and lower looper, which also overdue the seam. This is the seam most used now in professionally made garments, and it stretches with the fabric.
This is the best video I've seen as an intro to the Victory. Victory videos are really hard to find, and most of them assume that you know some of the steps, and then, when they skip to the next step, they lose the viewer. The only additions I'd like to see in your video is close ups of which hooks you bypass when bringing the needle thread across the front of the machine, and a close up of how you insert the needles. This is the first video that's shown me a needle insertion window; I've had my serger for about a year and didn't know such a thing existed! It's not anywhere in the manual. Most videos skip the part about inserting the needles and go straight to the needle threading. I don't want to tilt the machine over far enough to see where the insertion holes for the needle are located. The needle insertion tool that comes with the serger is pretty much useless.
