- God of War Ragnarok - Boss #69 Berserker Soul King Hrolf Kraki Boss Fight (No Damage Taken / No Bifrost Damage) on Give Me God of War Difficulty (Max Difficulty / Hardest Difficulty) / How To Beat King Hrolf Kraki Boss Fight No Damage No Hit Guide GMGOW. Just a quick video showing this boss from the newly released God of War Ragnarok on GMGOW difficulty, taking no damage. Thanks to PlayStation for providing me with a review copy of this game. Details below.
Final boss of the game! Similar to Sigrun, it's a combination of all the attacks from the previous Berserkers, so learning the boss doesn't take too long at all. Without that it'd be a lot more difficult fight, but as I was familiar with the rest, it didn't take too long.
Both happy and sad that it's over. It's a brilliant game that I had a lot of fun with, way more than I was expecting. God of War 2018 was brilliant, but this even surpasses that. The combat changes are nice to keep it more interesting, while not being too different that it feels like an entirely different franchise. The enemy and boss variety was really improved on from the previous game, which was my one main issue in that one. Difficulty-wise I think they're both comparable, each having their own challenges to overcome. The ultimate fights in both being the Valkyrie Queens, but I feel like the previous game prepared you a lot more and the movesets due to the other Valkyries, whereas in here you don't lead up to it. Similar to how King Hrolf here is a lot easier as a result of all the other berserkers. Overall the game is incredible though, and I'd probably say unmissable gaming experience, so I'd highly recommend it if you get the chance to play it.
I'll have one last look to see if there's any boss that I've missed at all, but I'm pretty certain I've posted them all. Once I do, I'll also post the compilation video with all bosses.
Realistically bifrost isn't really damage, but as it's something that impacts the health bar and is avoidable by certain means, I figured I'd go for a defeat without taking any of the bifrost too. All it involves is waiting out the single bifrost aura at the end, so it's not too bad at all.
I plan to post all of the bosses on Give Me God of War difficulty with no damage taken. I'll also post any helpful guides to puzzles, locations and whatever else.

@Kevin Kaslana The reason he didn't take damage is because if you upgrade that runic attack to max he is covered by a wind shield that fully protects him from damage but either way that was still pretty damn cool to see
I just defeated him in GMGOW and it took me 9 minutes on the successful run (and about 5 hours of attempts) and I was 1 hit away from failure as I had used my resurrection stone already. To see that someone can do it without any damage taken is astounding to me.
I won hundred percent feel you bro I just beat it and came to this video to see somebody fighting now and I’m like no damage I can pretty much not get here till like three bars and then I make a random mistake
The important thing is you beat him in any means necessary, you don't have to prove bragging rights.
I lost to king hrolf for several hours, had a tactical retreat and upgraded my armor to near max, just to have a rematch of another several hours of attempts and with some final few health left, finally defeated him

I nearly no damage run'd his ass on my first try, and I was going in with mental memory of the other Berserkers. I died (LPer's curse bullshit) via stupid mistake, then got him on the second attempt.
Overall I felt the berserkers were less mechanically interesting than the Valkyries were, but I still really enjoyed this fight
(imo) The game overall is a way easier than the last GoW. The valkyries in the last GoW were freaking psychos
This fight isn't hard but he is a damage sponge. I get bored before he is at half health.

The valkyries were better yes but I respect the fact that they didn’t just repeat like 90% of games. They made a new version that was very different but still had the same main idea. I’m glad they did it this way and didn’t let the game go stale
I prefer The Berserkers than the Valkyries
Tip: Always have a few spears lodged in him in case he flies up in the air and tries to do the bifrost explosion.

Fun Fact, Hrolf Kraki was actually the Danish King. Hrolf was described as a scylding, a member of a legendary Danish royal family. The Nephew of Hrodgar, Grandson Healfdene, and son of King Helgi of Lejre and Queen Yrsa. When his mother was raped and his father is killed by Swedish King Aldys, Hrolf raised an army of 12 Berserkers to wage war to avenge his Parents.

In the God of War timeline, I think Hrolf betrayed Aldis because of this reason and after getting his revenge, became insane because he didn't get the peace he desired and eventually followed Aldis' footsteps.

I have just started to fight him. Fortunately he is alone, so this fight reminds me of fighting Sigrun, as in learning his moves and patterns and speed up my reactions. It is not frustrating compared to the notorious berserkers, I quite enjoy getting better against him.
So, I am on the learning curve but I will get there.
Sometimes he still deceits me when delays the swinging of the huge hammer (or whatever it is called) but I manage. I use the realm shift waist as I like making use of the extra time.
With Berserkers; get to at least 300 in Strength with the spear too and you will have a major advantage in beating them. It's a mistake if you fight them without these 2 things unless you are really good.

Two hours is nothing on a fight like this. I estimate I took bit more than 5 for me. The three berzerker sisters in Alfheim took more than 10 hours. Possibly closer to 13, but that fight is actually broken. In this one all his moves have proper warnings and reactions that you can do to avoid or counter them. Not so with the Sisters of Illska and Svipdagr the Cold.
Bro, the fuckin' trio of Berserkers took me a half hour to get their moves and coordination down! I didn't even take that long against any of the others - they were all one-and-done.

Unfortunatly this gameplay was not GMGOW because we cannot parry or cancel when he unleashes the green circle and while befire double L1 parry, hrolf release attack fron the ground too. Because i just saw difference's while playing
The ease of which you do this makes my nearly 1.5 hour go at it just now on give me balance a walk in the park. finally managed to do it though, not looking forward to fighting gna though. i look forward to hopefully seeing some build videos in the future or at the very least have them a part of one of the guides similar to when you show off the builds for your destiny videos.
Don't be discouraged. I spent maybe 2 hours on the King and Gna I beat maybe in 3-4 attempts. On give me balance same as you. Maybe it was because I swapped some gear several times to make a build that works for me and got used to it.
Bro imagine when you “R3” Hrólf after beating him, there is a twist where you do a series of QTE when he pulls out Skofnung to counter the axe. Huge missed opportunity in my opinion, would’ve made a callback to the OG games…

I have more than 7 hours and countless deaths. No matter the equipment, I get so much damage and can't parry or dodge all of his attacks. He attacks me even when he sends a massive ball of ice, fire, poison, or AOE type of attack. It's hard for me to evade his hammer and I try to dodge it but my camera gets stuck and he hits numerous times and inflicts massive damage. From his ten

How do you parry? When do you press L1 for the yellow circle attacks?

This guy reminds me to Shao Kahn, the samurai armor style, the hammer, the "BOW TO ME!", the horns... Also there are some moves that look a lot to MK11's Shao

I once got a glitch with the subtitles when beating hrolf, instead of saying "my kingdom-" it said "my kingdom- a curse upon your name". I am still not able to replicate this error but I can certainly say that it's probably cut dialogue.
I am not sure but I guess this is a fight with full ability, skills tree etc. But I gotta say man you used the abilities pretty well in use :).

I’m impressed that your ability to not use your Owen triangle or your god of war of wrath I had to use mine if I can I like slipped up between moves I’ll have to use it to cancel his moves out and then the Owen triangle just does so much damage and why didn’t you use him and dolls hilt

I’m very into details and fought this boss before and where is that ground poppers when when Hrolf does the blue circle attack and the first 2 projectiles when he goes up in the air
So who’s harder, this guy or Gna? I’m still early in the postgame and wondering who to go after first (I know where Gna is, but I want to take down all the Asgard remnants first and maybe do all the Muspelheim challenges too)
If I had to choose which is harder, I think it’s this guy, Gna uses a few of the same moves and you get used to it, this guy uses all the beserker moves combined and is unpredictable.

What're you thoughts weapon attachments that slow time when you consume meter, I have the one for the axe and spear at the moment and gice me a 'damage phase" moment with bosses
Outrageous skill and hand-eye coordination. I’ll defeat this boss eventually however likely after triple digit tries.
I’ve been waiting to play this when I really have time to sit down and play for more than an hour or two. If this guy is like the last Valkyrie with a health bar that high omfg I can only imagine how hard this is gonna be 😂
Took me 15-20 tries to finally beat him what kept getting me was when he goes into the air launching those 4 projectiles i’m bad at dodging them
I find it really odd, thinking about how the new GoW mechanics work, that Kratos doesn't actually get stronger. He just gets more and more blingy swag, that boosts his power. 100% of your power level is calculated by the stats on the armor, not you. Which is kind of odd when you think about it. Most games have the "growth" of the character, be at least PARTIALLY based on internal improvement. But not the new GoW.

i usually pick something up in the center after every fight. But this time nothing. Was that supposed to happen?
I was surprised I did it maybe on the 10th try or something. It didn’t take many tries and basically killed him after dealing with the triple bastards in alfheim and the bifrost bitch in niflheim
