Just keep practising ! i never could downpick this riff so fast and i was always pissed but suddenly the next day it was like i could play this song whole my life (:

Buddy nothing is impossible yes its gonna take patience and a little while to learn but take the time to learn it throughout your day and you can get it down
Downpicking involves a lot of stamina as well as speed. Many players can downpick the intro of this song, but they'll get tired before the first verse kicks in! My advice is to practice slowly until you get up to the speed you desire, then keep practicing at that speed until you gain the stamina that is needed for this song :) I would say Master of Puppets is the harder song to play, but both songs are a good exercise for downpicking, along with songs like Through the Never and Blackened.

one other thing to expand upon what TheFenderrocker has said. practice your upstrokes as well! a lot of people practice the easy motion of playing constant and powerful downstrokes, but very few people practice recoiling the hand faster. think of it this way, if you can recoil as fast as you can down pick, then it's easy! oh one other thing. always remain relaxed! if you start to tense up, stop relax and try again focusing on the amount of tension :)

Well, I would say the three finger grip is only good for rhythm playing, because when I held the pick like that I could downpick at the speed of light haha. However, I've found that the index finger grip gives more advantages while soloing, because it leaves the tapping finger free and for some reason feels more comfortable. I would say to give the index grip a chance for about 2 weeks (or until you can play with it normally) and then see which grip is better for you. Hope that helps! :)

Hoy con la tecnología que tenemos podemos sonar inclusive mejor que el del video como Metallica a un 90% o más con un gasto mínimo de dinero. Solo necesita una interface como focusrite 2i4 o similar y un simple plugin nada más y sonaría como su grupo favorito. Si esta interesado me dice y le ayudo.
Lots and lots of practice :) If you keep at it, you'll eventually build enough speed and endurance to downpick almost any riff. It takes time, but it's definitely worth it.
