    This is such an awesome lesson. You’re a wizard with the squeegee 😊. I looked at your video to purchase but I didn’t see a supply list. Is that in the video or materials once you purchase the video? I’m asking because I have zero oil paint and cold wax. I would need to know what I need to buy so I can follow along with your video. Thank you

    Do the layers underneath dries out quickly when you’re painting on top of them?

    • @lindabanfalvi710
      @lindabanfalvi710  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@donnaoscolaighlange As with any paint, the thicker the layers, the more time needed to dry/cure. The cold wax medium added to the oil paint speeds up the dry time of the oils, and my paintings are touch dry in a day or two, and cure hard in a week or two.

    Are the colour of the palette already mixed with cold wax? Amazing way to use this technique....thank you so much...

    • @lindabanfalvi710

      Yes, I mix my oil paint with cold wax medium so they are all ready to paint with, and mix together on my palette and/or painting.

    Does the added wax delay the drying process? I'm so inspired by this technique! Thank you.

      The cold wax medium actually speeds up the dry time. So does a little Galkyd Gel.

    You are a gifted teacher! You have taught me much about cold wax and I must know how do you place your board on the wall for painting!!!! I loved that you use only the scraper and palette knives! Also that you use baby oil to clean everything. I had all but given up on cold wax especially because of the clean up! Love you method!

      Thank you Shirley, that's great to hear. I use screws on my wall, and sit my cradled panels or canvases on them. They stick out about and inch or so. It makes for easy on and off the wall, but secure.

    How do you stabilize the painting suface on the wall?

    • @lindabanfalvi710
      @lindabanfalvi710  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I paint on cradled wood panels, similar construction to a gallery canvas. I have screws on my painting wall that stick out about an inch. My panels sit securely on these screws. Easy to take on and off, and works for many sizes.

    This video is really amazing. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Can you please explain what you did with the scrape marks after the painting dried? Did you paint those branches with a fine brush?

    • @lindabanfalvi710
      @lindabanfalvi710  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're welcome, glad you liked it. I only painted it with the scraper tool and the small Pottery tool to make the branch marks. No brushs, and did not paint on it when it was dry, as I liked it as it was.

    Thank you very much for the info. Could I use acrylic instead of oil to mix with the wax? Thank you.

    • @lindabanfalvi710
      @lindabanfalvi710  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Elena, no, don't use the cold wax to mix with acrylics. Oil paints, Powdered pigments, pastels are compatible. Acrylics are not compatible to mix with it. You can paint over a dry acrylic painting with cold wax, just like you can paint oils over a dry acrylic painting, but not the other way.

    Linda, what is the name of your tool? Is it plastic or silicone? Also, this little spray stick with a loop on the end? Thank you very much in advance.

    • @lindabanfalvi710
      @lindabanfalvi710  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The silicone scraper is a Messermeister bowl scraper. Works great! The tool with a loop is a Pottery carving tool. Have fun!

    Do you frame pieces such as this

    • @lindabanfalvi710
      @lindabanfalvi710  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I paint on cradled wood panel with gallery depth sides, which I paint, so I don't frame them. They could be framed by the art buyer, if they chose to, but I like the clean contemporary look.

    Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. So appreciate it. Can i be so bold as to ask you if you think cold wax medium with oil works better on board or canvas? I’m an accomplished artist from Australia but truly a beginner in cold wax medium.
    Appreciating you sharing your experience. Thank you

      Glad you enjoyed my demonstration. I prefer to paint on a prepared wood panel, because of its rigid support. I have painted on canvas too with oil and cold wax, but I use more oil paint than cwm in my paint mix for increased flexibility and add a little Galkyd Gel for increased flexibility of the paint on a flexible support. I also love painting oil and cold wax on Arches Oil Paper.
