    Thanks for this tutorial. Cycles is unbelievable fast for me and I try to use it more now. I'm trying to learn how to render oceans (from Houdini) with it now.

    Hi there! Thank you for the comparison data and renders! love it! what Blender version did you use and was it rendered in Cycles X? Also, which RS version?

      Hi Mark, You are most welcome. :) I used Blender 3.01 and Indeed I used CyclesX. Very promising renderer. :)

    The setting in the N panel is for viewport clipping , not for camera clipping

    whats the time of the render? super hepful video, Im planing to use cycles as a second render engine for personal jobs.

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. The highest render time for a frame was 1:58 secs. The total was aolround an hour or so. But this was with 64 divs so I guess you would at least need 128. But since mine is 1080p it was sufficient.

      Resilient Picture Company thanks for the information. And what was the render time in mantra ?

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries. I didn't render in mantra but I know it takes a while.

    Im trying to render the aerial explosion. How do you do the attribute for the trail temperature

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using the shelf tools for aerial explosion you should see trail_temperature attribute created in node "pyrolook". you can put in a convert vdb after that node and cache it as per the tutorial. I hope this helps.

  • @edh615
    @edh615 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not use exported heat attrib for the temperature attribute?

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can, of course. The new scatter field is better though.

    Use Shift+D to duplicate a node so you don't have to copy:paste it.

  • @SeanyKrabs
    @SeanyKrabs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't have the scatter attribute

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, ok, do you have pyrobackvolume node in houdini before caching it out for blender render? The scatter really comes from that node. Please double check, if its not there add it before caching.

    Any idea how can I open my Houdini file in a Maya file?

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, I don't think can. But you can export volume from houdini as vdb and import it into maya but I have never used maya, so I have no idea.

    Hello, when i try to export to blender, I get this message: Volume "fireball.1" failed to load: IoError: could not get size of file C:\Users\usuario\Documents\Videojuegos\Explosión en Houdini\sim\fireball\sim\vdb\fireball.1.vdb

    Why to shade in blender, not in houdini?

    • @resilientpicture
      @resilientpicture  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well houdini render engine is great but currently it only supports cpu rendering, but cycles support GPU rendering and so it's faster, hence the reason.
