Brilliant work, Ramsey. This is very much an overlooked composition when Profumum Roma is being discussed, and I’m not sure why. It blew me away when I first tried it in one of their Rome boutiques, and part of that was the surprise that this could smell so good yet receive little to no attention. Thanks for taking the time to correct that injustice.

Glad to see you finally exploring some Profumum Roma! Despite their linearity (and their most recent launches), they're one of my favourte Houses 😁 I do have a bit of a hard time with Fiore d'Ambra. Something about it doesn't click with my skin. I have to revisit it soon. Now Ambra Aurea is one of my favourite ambers (up there with Ambre Sultan)! That slightly animalic opening and the super rich feeling ambergris and labdanum, oh my!

It's really nice; I love it. It also reminds me of something from my childhood and completely transports me back, but I can't remember exactly what that is. It's not just a single moment, but the whole feeling of being a kid again, a series of events. Absolutely brilliant, I need a bottle!!!
I specifically re-watched this video in hopes of figuring out what it is that just does it for me. If I think harder, it could be the poppy note, reminiscent of all those walks on the endless hills covered in red poppies during the hot spring days.

Hello Ramsey, after your review I was intrigued and gave it a try. I was so amazed ! I'm totally agree with you're review. It really smells like a vintage. It is tamed down to the perfection so that you can really enjoy the amber signature of it and all his layer. It is if the composition goes on the abstract territory. It is not sticky in my book. On the contrary, it is very refine and addictive. Thanks a lot for you're review. I ended with 2004 bottle, almost 20 years !

Awesome presentation as always. My SOTD was ARSO and was totally a blind buy. Living in Seoul the heat has been scorching and lets just say ARSO being so light it worked out well and lasted about 3 hours after multiple sprays. Two days of wearing it and the summer vibes are in full swing cheers.

Great take buddy. I used to have a decant of this one but don't know which batch it was, for me it was absolutely unwearable: civet and aldehydes overdose under a stripped YSL Opium base (I've tried from the bottle too and it wasn't a fake). Ambra Aurea on the other hand was great, one of the best ones of the genre 💕

Coincidentally today in the 115 degree Vegas weather i wore ambra avrea today on one arm and Le lion on the other to try and compare the ambers and there's quite a bit of similarities but ambra avrea is just a more dense and sappier amber with a very nice frankincense while le lion is focused more on the labdanum. Truly enjoyed both in this heavy heat, i don't follow these guides of use ambers in winter non sense. Also, got to tried profumum roma patchouli and it's that vintage type of dirty patchouli. I have patchouli essential oil and it has some slight vibes of that. Reminds a tad of Frederic malle monsieur, the patchouly at least. Dark, dirty and rugged patchouli. Enjoyed it also.

    • @RamseytheRam

@@RamseytheRamI'm really wondering what you're gonna think of Ambra avrea because I know you love amber absolute and Ambra avrea might be that lost brother that you might be missing when you don't want to pay those crazy high price on amber absolute. Ambra avrea is not as dense as amber absolute but overall it tickles the same itch and I'm so glad I blind bought it. I won't need to find a back up bottle of amber absolute any more(unless a very cheap one falls in my lap)

However I will return for sure . I did however procure a 20ml extract of Teatro Alla Scala, man I see what ya mean Rams and also La Dix Parfum plus Its sister Quadrille.
