His LA Leakers freestyle transcends time, the man looks like he could be somewhere else but he comes in and drops the most casual instant classic you’ll ever see, definitely check it out if you think this one’s fire!
This right here. The la leakers freestyle (#100) for royce puts other freestyles to shame. It makes other rappers look like they are still in kindergarten.

A lot of that came from a track called "Thou Shall" from his latest album.
But, Royce delivered it impeccably with elite precision. It's must see, for sure.

Interestingly though, only the first few verses from the freestyle is in Thou Shall, it’s clever from Royce, I think this freestyle dropped around the same time as his album and it was a nice way to plug it without outright doing so. The universal love people have for that freestyle is staggering though, Cartier should defo check it out!

Love what you guys are doing. I have my 11 and 14 year old children listening to these same videos. Using it to spark intellect and dialogue. You guys are about 80% there on most of your interpretations. Once you guys enter the Realm of the "WU" your level of interpretation will need to greatly increase. But they don't be spitting lyrical heat. Black Thought, Royce, Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, they from our generation, the golden era. You guys have Kendrick and J. Cole as the top lyrical emcees of your generation. But you also have Big Sean, Joyner Lucas, Hopsin, NF, Logic. At some point Yelawolf but he's more old head than new. I'd like to see yall do some more lyrical emcees like these.

True story. After Black did his freestyle, they couldnt find anyone for like a month or 2 to hit the mike. Royce was the first dude to step up.
But Black Thought was the best. He took no breath and he went a little deeper. Both joints are legendary.

His best one is the LA Leakers one. This one is punchline rap but y’all won’t get most of the references because you’re too young. Even in the beginning when he said “riding with the k solo, I’m spellbound” k solo had a song called spellbound that came out in 1990. There is a lot of references in here like that. He says a lot of stuff in here you’d only get if you’re like 30+. His LA leakers one is more in line with black thought’s with the advanced bars. This one is still really good though.
Yeah his la leakers freestyle is probably one of the best freestyles ive heard in the past 10 years IMO, really want to see them miss half the bars because they dont understand the topics haha

Eminem “sway in the morning 2014” freestyle is harder then this wether you talk metaphors, wordplay, doubles, rhyme schemes etc, like significantly better then this plus most of this freestyle was previous songs and future songs Royce has

This is my favorite video to date. 13:11 is 100% the best screen shot of this video. Tae's shaking of his head not believing what he heard and Brandon' s :( and Young B-rock's confusion, and saloswrld's facepalm -- I'm sorry, rappers these days couldn't keep your attention for this long and 13 minutes in slam you with a bar that makes you make these faces. I'm so happy yall realized the difference between older rappers and most of these new rappers. And there are a lot of different rap types. Storytellers like Meek Mill and Dave East. Glamour rappers Gucci Mane. Who spit mainly about materialistic stuff. Lyrical rappers obviously like Eminem and Nas who get technical with schemes, flows and wordplay. Conscious rappers like Nas and J. Cole who tackle life issues etc. Freestyle rappers. Battle rappers who focus on punchlines. It's a lot. And very few have 4 or more of these traits within their arsenal
