    When he said "same cadence as D.O.C., pre accident" Do a search for rapper DOC.. He released a CLASSIC album in 1989... No One Can Do It Better, had a serious car accident that left his larnyx crushed. One of the early things people were saying about DOC was how good and pristine his voice sounded....

    Black thought is an example of why no one should disrespect the OG rappers who paved the way. Most of the rappers of today could never compete with an OG rapper because they’re too busy trying to be celebrities and brag about how much money and material things they have instead of spitting knowledge and wisdom 😕. That’s how it was back in the day. ❤️

    • @MrOPPMan

    Tigris and Euphrates is a river system that runs through a bunch of middle eastern countries. Long time ago they were the predominant water ways for trade, travel and relations between countries. Black Thought is VERY well educated. Glad you guys enjoyed his freestyle!

  • @jacobahtone220
    @jacobahtone220 ปีที่แล้ว +113

    This freestyle is a history lesson. There are so many references that you are missing that will help explain the content/context of his freestyle. Henry Kissinger was essentially the man in the shadows controlling the past presidents. Buzz Bissinger is the author of Friday Night Lights. They both controlled the narrative of how you saw and perceived things. CB4 was a comedy movie that Chris Rock made back in the early 90's. It was essentially about 4 good kids who was acting like they was real gangsters that rapped. CB4 was a play on the name and story of NWA. Instead of Straight outta Compton, it was Straight outta Locash. MC Gusto was played by Charlie Murphy, very funny movie. BT is using the CB4 reference as most of these rappers today are fake like CB4 . Everybody wants to be a gangster until it's time to do some gangsta shit...

    This Black Thought freestyle is probably the best continuous stream-of-consciousness over a beat ever recorded. He stays on subject, on beat, transitions between ideas smoothly and without repeating or pausing at all. This is a VERY rare skill with rappers. His vocabulary is out of this world. I actually had Rakim and Nas as the best lyricist ever but after listening to this Black Thought free style Black Thought is the Greatest Lyricist my ears has ever heard. Shout out to ALL MY BROTHERS from Philly to birthing the Greatest Rap Lyricist to ever grace a MICROPHONE !!! This freestyle destroys all rappers old school & new school. NO rapper can get with Black Thought. This coming from a brother on the West Coast ( Cali ).

    “Imma say $300K isn’t in the ballpark, I charge more just for some awkward small talk” is the coldest bar! Black Thought and the Roots are the realest hip hop group in the game. Every record is deeper then the ocean

    This how most classic rappers got down. Redman, RZA, GZA, Common are just a few of my cerebral lyricists. We came up in a different educational system. Comprehensive reading and writing was an absolute

    Y’all reactions are priceless! I love it! I have known about black thought since college and I had the same reaction when I heard this freestyle and when I listen to his albums with the Roots
