    So i have a question cuz im new to channel. Do yall leave a vehicle at the air taxi station or do yall rent one every time? Also are there no roads from your village to Anchorage that you could drive when its not winter?

    How much does it cost to get your groceries shipped on the air taxi from anchorage to port alsworth

  • @ema8909
    @ema8909 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    3:07 you're right it isexpensive! Trust your gut.
    That looked like a 3 pound bag. And if I'm correct and its 3lbs that's $27 /3 = $9/lb for bacon. Was it organic? Or at least uncured?
    Plus the air taxi cost, which I think you said was 90 cents per pound.
    So it costs you about $10 per pound of regular (thick) bacon
    Here are bacon prices where I am:
    Generic cured bacon $4.39/lb
    Generic uncured $5.39/lb
    Applegate organic uncured $8.50/lb
    I wonder if you can set up with Azure Standard. You might be able to get some good stuff.
    Anyway, thanks for sharing your videos!

      @rosed9665 ปีที่แล้ว

      That Costco pack is 2 packs of 3 lbs of bacon so $4.50 per/lb of bacon. I used to buy it before I moved. Now Costco is too far away.

  • @kittylynndale5264
    @kittylynndale5264 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You eggs are cheaper there than here in Alabama. When I went to the store last week, 5 dozen eggs were 25.66 (waaaayyyyy out of my price range, lol)

    • @adrienne5836
      @adrienne5836 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow that’s more than Southern California. They are $15 for 60 eggs.

    • @jg1296
      @jg1296 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Egg prices crazy. Ralph’s 5.99 for one dozen. I was lucky to find 18ct for 5.98 at Sam’s club. Costco it’s 7.59 for that same 18ct and 18.71 for a 60 count box. Our consumes mostly eggs, rice and beans, and sometimes chicken as our staple proteins so for egg prices to have increase it’s disappointing when grocery shopping.

    • @kittylynndale5264
      @kittylynndale5264 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jg1296 yeah, I should have mentioned that those prices were at Walmart. At Dollar General they were $7/dozen, and the local grocer isn’t even carrying eggs right now. They may be cheaper at Costco or Sams, but the closest Sams is at least a 30 minute drive, and 45 minutes for Costco.

      it's approx $800 per person per day, in a remote village that can only be reached by air, with food included and personal guided tours. You've seen how much it costs for the staff who live there year round to get basic necessities. While I personally wouldn't pay that price for such a trip, I can see why people who have lots of money (but not private island money) might choose the excursion.
