Yep, Floor has a 3 year old princess, 2 giant horses, cat with newborn kittens - and I am pretty sure she has got a new dog also. Floor, Hannes and Freja (daughter) are living on a farm, directly to the woods and close to a lake, in a Swedish forest.
So full time mom, farmer, wife - and besides of that, she turns on the sun every morning 😉
Floor has 2 Clydesdale's, those giant horses that pulls beer wagons sometimes (does Budweiser still have a couple of teams?)

She is not only the drummer's wife. She also sang in choirs in several songs by Sabaton
Her daughter was named after a Norse Goddess, Floor 's name derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring Flora... beautiful.... Why is she a Goddess.. because she has a Powerful voice, endurance, breath control, high notes, low notes, belting, sing like an Angel, a Siren, Rockstar and a Beast from Hell. Last but not least, an Awesome stage presence.

Floor is a newer Mom, she is married to the drummer of the band Sabaton. She started doing death growls in her old band Revamp, check out the song Wild Card if you want to hear more of her growling.
Floor has a southern Dutch accent. Floor has a 3 years old daughter named Freja, with her husband Hannes Van Dahl who is the drummer of the Swedish power metal band, Sabaton. We Nightwish fans use the term "Floorgasm" in place of the scientific term "Frisson".
Frisson is of short duration, lasting only a few seconds. Typical stimuli include loud passages of music and passages-such as appoggiaturas and sudden modulation-that violate some level of musical expectation. During a frisson, a sensation of chills or tingling is felt on the skin of the lower back, shoulders, neck, and/or arms. The sensation of chills is sometimes experienced as a series of 'waves' moving up the back in rapid succession and commonly described as "shivers up the spine". Funny that you ask about how they are doing this with one guitarist. Interestingly, Nightwish has 3 guitarists: Emppu, Marco, and Troy Doneckley, who is a multi-instrumentalist. He's the one you'll see playing low whistle, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, e-bow, and guitar. Additionally, Floor, Marco, and Troy all sing, and sing lead on songs, so this band has talent in spades.
Four guitarists, Floor can play, too.

There is a video from a Finnish heavy metal christmas tour (yes, it's a thing) called Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas) in which Floor sings Ave Maria and she's I believe 7 months pregnant and she sings in Finnish.
I think scientist are still searching the limits of her talent with no luck so far.

Floor isn't from Finland, she's from the Netherlands, different accent than the Finnish accent. And yes, Floor is a mom, her husband is Sabaton's drummer.
Floor sings in eight languages, she however is Dutch. The band is from Finland.
Nightwish is from Finland but Floor is from the Netherlands and Troy (who plays a variety of unusual instruments) is English.
Can you check out Everdream from Wacken 2013. I think you will enjoy that one as well. The whole Wacken concert is out of this world. I've been following Nightwish and Floor since 1997 and it never gets old, only gets better. And to answer your question, yes Floor is a metal mom and does have a busy home life when she's not touring. I've been fortunate to see them live a few times when they tour the US and the live shows are simply incredible! Thanks for the reactions!!

Yes, she has a TH-cam channel called "Storytime", I think they are at Storytime #4 now.. You can check out her, around the ranch and her horses, and "some of her friends, and music associates that come by to join in the conversations", she talks about the other musical projects she has going on.. She explains the migration process she went thru, joining Nightwish, moving from her home in the Netherlands to Finland, then meeting her husband and then uproot again to move to Sweden where he's from, learning the languages. I've heard her sing songs or speak in German, Spanish, Finish, French and of course Dutch and English....
Floor was at a really low point in her life when Tuomas offered her the lead vocalist spot in Nightwish, in 2012. They've been friends for so many years and met when Tarja was still singing in Nightwish.
Floor is in fact a mom, she's married to Hans van Dahl, the drummer of Sabayon, and they have a beautiful little daughter together.
Tuomas wrote a verse specifically for her being a mom in the song How's the Heart, if you're interested. It's nowhere near as heavy as this one, but as you might imagine given the content it's an emotional hard hitter!

Correction - Nightwish DOES have two guitarists (or three, if we count Marko who plays a double neck bass/guitar - check out "The Islander" at Tampere to see that and behold the awesomeness). Troy Donockley is a multi-instrumentalist, and by "multi" I mean literally anything, and does play the guitar in some of the songs (see "While Your Lips Are Still Red" from the same show). He isn't featured in this song though.
Floor Jansen is so powerful and has a lot of talent... And She is so versatile!!
It's easy to think that there's more than one guitar, i think it's partially because of Marko's bass tuning.
But there's something for you: song "Weak Fantasy" has three guitars (that's not counting bass) at the same time, it's also one of the wildest tracks of theirs. Wanna see how it works? Check it live @ Tampere 2015
Tuomas is fabulous at writing material that suits his vocalist(s), but he really lucked out getting Floor to join the band because she can do the operatic Tarja stuff and the more pop Anette stuff, too.
You've already done Ghost River and Romanticide (which I am now off to partake of), so another crunchier song you'll like is Weak Fantasy from Tampere.
Guys go listen to Floor's previous 2 bands, After Forever and Revamp. She does the rasp and growl all the time. She is literally the greatest female vocalist alive and capable of performing today.

Great reaction, thank you. LVT...Floor is Dutch, Troy is a Brit, the others are Fins. One the Dutch TV show " Beste Zangers 2019 " She sings in English, German,Dutch and Spanish ( from memory ). Same show you watched Phantom video. Yes she is a mom, 4 year old daughter. She and her husband ( drummer in Sabaton ) and daughter live on a farm in Sweden. Troy, the multi instrumentalist is from the UK.
Marko, Emppu, and Tuomas remain the only original members.... well Marko actually took over bass duties from Sami in 2001, but remains with them.
Drummer Kai Hahto is also Finnish but took over Drumming duties in 2015 after Jukka announced he could no longer hold it together because of health problems due to insomnia.
Any reactions and feelings/emotions that include goosebumps, chills, and tears whether from joy or sadness from hearing Floor's voice, is called a "Floorgasm". It wasn't meant to offend you, it's actually a "thing" in the Nightwish community and especially newcomers.

It's a bit more straightforward metal and a bit grittier also than what she does in Nightwish. Check out Disdain (live at graspop) or Wildcard for sure.

"Master, Passion Greed" is another heavy duty song that features Marco's singing,, There is no live concert video performance of this song on TH-cam.. But, there is a Special Nightwish Video of this song put together by Comunidade using high quality concert clips. It's excellent, but they don't perform this song anymore because it's an angry snap back at the person who was the main cause of the split of Nightwish and their first lead singer Tarja. They pretty muchly knew that her then Manager/Husband was the main cause of Tarja's attitude change towards money and a new solo career.. This song is directed towards him... and in order to put that episode behind them they agreed to not perform the song anymore.. With lyrics like "the stench of your lies draws flies" It's a very harsh criticism of him.. ..

Superb concert, features songs from the 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015)' album, Nightwish's first studio album with Floor. New songs written specifically with Floor in mind. 'Yours Is An Empty Hope' is the 4th track on the 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' studio album.
This concert was another milestone for Nightwish, they were the first Finnish band to headline Wembley Arena. In a Wembley Arena annual poll for the best live performance of 2015, they came 2nd to Queen.
Floor is doing all the growling using false vocal cords technique, IIRC a technique she learned / mastered during the 'ReVamp'(band) days.
A lot of people? Wembley Arena certainly isn't the biggest venue, but "sold out" would be 12,500.

She had her own band After for Ever when she was a teen (pretty famous from 1998 to 2007), than started Revamp (great songs too) Till Nightwish was on tour in the USA and their singer was sick again. They called her if she could sing with them in 48 hours. She studied the songs on the plane...it was a hit and she never left. There is a docu onyou tube about this, learn the songs in 48 hours) Wacken is when she was just hired in the band.
She is married with the drummer of Sabaton and they live together with there 3 year old daughter Frey in a remote part of sweden in the woods. They have a studio on house, she is a great amazone and has two horses, Floor is a HSP (higly sensitive personality) and after touring she needs the peace and quietness of the woods.
Fun fact, her sister is also a singer.
She is indeed that tall. Holland is the country with the tallest persons in the world officially. Must be those crazy vikings who were kings here for decades. :D (Holland is very close to denmark and our language is more like Danish than German, what everybody thinks)

She wasn't yet a mom when this was recorded, her daughter was born 15 months later, in March 2017. She rode with the band on the tour bus from when she was 11 months old, hanging with the guys backstage and regaling everyone. :)

Another wonderdul review!.....as to the Irish/Celtic sounding accent, you are not the only one who has though as much. Floor is actually from the Netherlands but at times she does sound like she has an Irish/Celtic accent.....in fact a few Nightwish songs sound like they may have a bit of Celtic folk song in them (I Want My Tears Back, Harvest. etc.).
