For anyone wondering sometime now, the brake lights are LED and you cannot replace them. If it does somehow not work, you’ll have to replace the entire housing
So fun fact. There is a known issue with these moisture can get in and cause acceleration issues because there's a tiny circuit board in there that talks with the main ecu. And that little moisture causes the whole ecu to act up. Edit, at 92k miles transmission gave up the ghost. Roughly 10k mi after the power train warranty and a hefty $4k to replace. Seriously if your thinking of getting this car, don't. Also I have a serious problem with my star wheel adjusters in the rear drums falling out of place and getting chewed up. If anyone has a link to a video on what I'm doing wrong please link me.
Check for moisture in the taillight. Or just disconnect it. And see if the car runs as it should. I left mine disconnected, in the heat in my garage for a couple days to bake out the moisture, then I took some clear caulk and sealed it. Runs like a hotdamn now.
@big chilote I didn't replace it, to replace it is a hefty chunk of change. I applied the clear caulk on the back seam where the lens meets the grey backplate. If you have silicone lube laying around you can use that on any rubber grommets where the electrical comes in, it will help seal it against moisture ingress and is a less permanent solution then caulk.
Take a look at the bulb and the one that is bad, replace that. If you dont know how bad light looks , ask for someone to press brake and see which light is the one.

I'd rather 2016 version of this model, it sucks that user needs to change the whole housing for the LED brake light
Very simple and helpful tutorial! Thank you!

Can you tell me how long was the job for replacing the light bulb?
There’s literally a video of him showing how to do it.... how long is the video !??!
What can be replaced for use if you don’t have a 10mm socket wrench
Not sure
you need to buy one
you can use a regular 10mm wrench. Does not have to be socket.
Where can you get the lightbulbs???
amazon, rockauto.com or any parts store
What's the bulb number
Man u didn't say which one is the tail light the one for the break
Take a look at the bulb and the one that is bad, replace that. If you dont know how bad light looks , ask for someone to press brake and see which light is the one.
I cannot for the life of me snap the tail light out
Mine won't budge either.
you need sticky palms and strong finger tips
After removing screws, put some Duct Tape on the tail light to grab it, and gently pull.
