music of the axelay is a masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. all the themes
6:36 AXELAY gives me goosebumps..the earth always appeared in the background..you had to clear the zone..you had to.
I just couldn't get over how the game's name kept conjuring up images of some dude bedding a war-axe.
Love SNES Gradius . It's The Best Version Even With The Slowdown .
The slowdown made the game better. You could use it to your advantage.
Hmm, some of the instruments in Space Megaforce "Last Boss" sounds similar to R-Type III's "Stage 1", different developers (Compile vs. Irem). It's also interesting to hear instrument styles from a single developer carry through several games (for example, the electric guitar in Capcom's UN Squadron and the SNES Mega Man X series).
"Solo Sortie" for Super R-Type is great!
Check the music for Stage 2 on R-Type III, is like 80s horror movie music
22:15 *Damn, that's catchy!* But obviously you love _Super R-Type_ the most. 👍
Thanks for the comp playlist!
I love your compilations. I listen to them while I work all the time. Thank you!
So good. Shumps have some of the best tracks ever and you made a sweet playlist for them.
Great selection. Thanks !
Nice arrangement! Also listen to Darius Force's "Bio," even if you don't like that game. It's epic music.
took a stab at a new playlist. glad you made one for my favorite genre of video games. much appreciated!-)
Please don't stop making these compilations!
Damn...That Gradius song slaps!
Axelay music is in a league of its own.
Konami know what they’re doing!
See you again in *Axelay 2* ...
... sigh... still waiting...
So, for a few days I've been going through TASVideos' tasvideos.org/ListOfIdeas/SNES.html list of ideas for unTASed games, to check the OSTs of various games out from that list trying to find some more unknown good tracks, and eventually I stumbled over Bio Metal, a game i never knew before (so I don't think I'd be biased in any way towards it), and was and still am amazed by a soundtrack I heard from it. So I looked further, found a reddit thread that was about the most underrated SNES tracks ( www.reddit.com/r/snes/comments/53f4wa/what_are_some_of_the_most_underrated_snes/ ), was curious what other people mentioned there, checked through their choices to compare them to what I had found. Some were alright, but I felt that tune I found, even though it is rather short, did fit better into that category of ''best soundtrack with the restriction that the game needs to be rather unknown/underrated'' than anything I saw being mentioned there, however I couldn't make a post there anymore. So then I looked a bit further and got here, and to my happy surprise you actually have a similar Bio Metal track listed among these best, so I guess your research is thorough and alright. ^_^
But yeah I do like that other Bio Metal Main theme by Yoshio Nagashima ( www.infinitelooper.com/?v=skmDS-yuZkA&p=n ) better than the version in the video. I like it so much that I had to put it on infinite loop :D
What in the world is that Phalanx cover art
Haven't finished the video yet, but I hope there's some Un squadron music here.
0:21 Speed up

The quiet kid's favorite genre!
I can't find that Super SW4 game, Anyone help? It's so familiar too.. looking for rom name too I guess..
Because it's called Super Swiv, not Super Sw4.
Or called Firepower 2000
As an added bonus we don't have to hear that god awful channel intro.
Ssssssnnnnnnnnnnnnessss drunk
"17 of the best songs from shmups on the SNES"
No I'm pretty sure that would just be 17 songs from Super R-Type and R-Type 3.
Nice try though.
So good. Shumps have some of the best tracks ever and you made a sweet playlist for them.
