This is a masterpiece, I can listen to this on repeat all day long. You can hear the creativity, the hard work, the talent, the thousands of hours he put in to get this good. And another thing that other guitarists lack is the ability to put emotion into their pieces, but Mike did it absolutely perfectly, you hear emotion from beginning to end. This is something else though, you can listen to it many times and still like it. And the emotion in it is like it's telling a story, but a story that the listener writes for themselves.

I've played guitar for 40+ years, and I stink at it. The more I learn about the guitar, the more I realize how much I don't know. Mike Dawes & Tommy Emmanuel drive home that point. They're in a dimension of musical providence that most every other guitarist alive today can only dream of. And I believe they've just scratched the surface of the infinite creative possibilities of the guitar.

That being said. This has to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing musical performances I have ever heard. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I can literally sense the connection this man has with his guitar. I believe if it were any other guitar on the face of this earth he was playing, you wouldn't be witnessing any of this. What u have illustrated to me in a more refined manner than my life's experience so far understands with the sheer range a master of the guitar can perform on a single instrument - there are sounds that differ and originate from differing components of the device - and so each section of it can be performed on its own, and that makes distinctive sounds. Your natural orientation to this can be refined, not unlike a conductor, to put together a team of guitar genius that can play each section in a symphony of guitar magic like u display.

Mike is one of only a few musicians that were able to carry on from where Michael Hedges started and develop a style of their own, even beyond what Michael achieved. I find many of the other players in a similar style have impressive technique, but can't write emotionally moving songs.

That really touched me. Your performance was beautiful and smooth and percussive and harmonical and ...... peaceful and soothing. You remind me of the late Michael Hedges, and there is no greater person to which I could compare you. You move in between the bends and arpeggiate in a manner which creates its own space that is pure and wonderful. I would go well out of my way and spend high dollars to see you perform in concert.
I remember seeing Stanley Jordan 30 years ago, and he had a guitar on a stand where he could just walk up to it, and he started playing the bass and the walkup guitar, and I had to shake my head sadly, because I knew that I could never aspire to that level of excellence. I feel the same when I watch you play.
