    I'm so excited to guide you in this 30 minute yin yoga practice using affirmations for serenity, peace and grounding. You don't need any props for this practice but I do encourage you to have a journal close by. I'm a big lover of affirmations and like to pair them with yin yoga asanas as a way to do shadow work and dig deep.
    We'll be doing yin yoga asanas like child's pose, sphinx, reclined butterfly, sleeping swan and banana.
    AFFIRMATIONS USED:
    Today I celebrate the joy and wonder within me.
    Peace and harmony surround me at all times.
    I am patient with myself and others, we are all doing our best.
    I breathe in to nourish my spirit. I breathe out to soften and relax.
    My internal dialogue is kind and loving.
    All that I need to know at any given moment is revealed to me.
    I send out healing energy into the world and I lovingly receive it back.
    In this moment I am grounded, present and serene.
    If something comes up for you doing the practice, journaling is a great way to process your experience. Using affirmations is a great way to do shadow work.. uncovering those parts of yourself that have been cast away, rejected or suppressed. If you find yourself being triggered in affirmations, simply notice it and journal on it later to see what could be at the root of that.
    What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.
    There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.

    Dear Kassandra, this practice automatically popped up after I had completed your 10-minute beginner's practice. I have epilepsy, and I was having seizures that morning, followed by a horrible headache and I could still feel the activity in my head after the short beginner's practice. Shortly into your affirmation practice, I could feel everything soften and it seemed as if the neurons in my brain had finally stopped bouncing around. Upon completion of this practice, the headache was completely gone, and I was calm and serene and HAPPY! Another huge plus is that I didn't have any additional seizure activity that day. I feel depressed after having seizures because it's a reminder that I am not under control (and there are several medical articles about the correlation between epilepsy and depression). I now start my day with this practice followed by one of your beginner yoga practices to wake me up. Kassandra, I opened up to you because I hope that should anyone else read my story, and know someone with a neurological condition, that they share this story so it will help someone else. Thank you, Kassandra. You are truly a gift to the world, and I am grateful to have found you.

    Good morning 🌞 Beautiful Yin Yoga with affirmations. It went well with the exception of resistance in the deep hip during reclined pigeon pose. My spirit is calm, grounded, and peaceful. Namaste 🧘🏽‍♀️🙏🏽

    My favorite pose is the butterfly pose so I love this video for that 🥰 I’ve had many different yoga teachers IRL yoga classes, but felt like they taught me asanas and I did the poses and left. So I find it very curious that I can connect better with a yoga teacher remotely and went deeper into my practice, thank you for doing this work! Your yin yoga classes are how I begin my day and (sometimes) end it :)

    my mantra was just to show up tomorrow yoga especially with affirmations has BECOME extremely important to me I recently went thru a 9month period where I couldn't do ANY YOGA on the floor I GRIEVED like I lost a family member when I was able to return to actual yoga practice I CRIED AND I HUGGED MY nurse practioner YOGA HAS BECOME AN INTERGAL of my way like h20 or food I have ADHD so along with rx it has helped calm the "monkey brain" as Buddhist teaching talk about I also have severe chronic pain frm a spinal cord injury yoga doesn't take away my pain but it helps with meditation calm my mind while waiting for rx to work reduce my anxiety reduce my ANGER frm being disabled disappointment im disabled and most importantly ACCEPTANRANCE THT THIS WHR I AM THIS LIFETIME I can spend it angry cooped up and hostile or get in thr and maintain wht I do have

    I love this session! You really fill a spot on TH-cam (and in the world!) with your yoga, particularly the yin yoga.
    I felt that the music was almost a bit stressful and didn't go well with the practice during the first half of the class, but it became veeery calming and serene later on. Wonderful.

    I absolutely love this class. I turn to it whenever I am stressed, angry, sad, confused... It is like a warm hug for me, with the hip openers getting into the emotions and the floor poses for relaxing. Thank you

    #goodmorning ! Thanks for this, my intro to Yin. Did 2 of the 30 day challenge and moved to 30 min classes, but twisted my lower right back. This was a perfect relaxer with few back twists and no downward dog. Celebrating the joy and wonder within me!
