@@Dasp244 The pre-reviews I've seen seem to indicate that they're not embellishing anything here -- the paints really are that good. I am honestly quite excited.
@@autochton ive only seen people get the set of 3 paints sent out, i know stahly (tale of painter) hase a review coming soon. wheres a good channel to find them?
Painters of old days are VERY aware of this system. We used to mix our own 1-6 in bottles when we settled on them on an army so we didn't have to mix all the time. We then layered it using these. Now that you have access to shades, lahmian and other mediums and contrasts, it makes blending much, much easier which will enhance this. I'm really glad a company finally realized this is what is needed instead of putting out 10 different shades/hues of greens from warm and cool that don't match up to anything else.
I dig the concept of consistency, because when you're mixing paints and want a bunch of models to have a uniform look, you pretty much had to paint them all in one go if you're mixing with a limited number of colors. Maybe you can work out a little recipe that you can remember or write down, but if you forget and come back later the odds are good things aren't going to be a perfect match. The fact that you can just quickly grab and go with these would be a massive help to anyone with ADHD like me, because I've got so many partially painted minis because I go through periods of time when I'm super into painting and can get a lot done, but because I'm doing 5-10 of a single unit type in steps like an assembly line, it removes the joy from painting. With these, I could just do them one at a time and probably get pretty consistent results days, weeks, months, or years later as has happened in the past. Apparently they've also an airbrush line that uses a more traditional 3 color triad system, and those are ready to spray--which means I'm probably going to be spending north of $1,000 at some point in the future. To be fair, I could probably just buy their airbrush medium and mix it with this new line and probably get the same results--but that IS extra effort. I kinda dig their whole "don't mix, just paint!" vibe that they've been going for with their new product lines--and I can certain think of far worse ways to spend my money.
You should sell these in the Flexible Triad Sets of 6 paints. This would allow someone to build up their collection over time, but buy a set of colours they might need for a painting project they are currently working on.
It's great that AP have updated their range of paints, like AK or Vallejo. (I never used AP before, but it's probably time to try) some special effects paints like rust, blood or vomit look really cool, only the green stuff brand have something similar to these paints.
I just made a triad pegboard system for my air paints. Attached them to that 3D printed “threadboard” system. I guess this will work to. I’d put it up on printables but I’d have to cut off the thread-board portion.
Actually once I get it cut I’ll upload it. Maybe someone can fix the errors. It prints fine but I can’t correct all the errors on my Mac. @HallbjornHauk_420152
Im really looking forward to these paints. You really seem to be a great company that listens to feedback and really value customers critiques. Bravo Army painter!
I love the Triad system. I just think my brain is wired to be bad at imagining colours. Some guidelines of "Highlight this colour with this colour" are just great for people like me. I'm sure the real artistic type don't have this problem but for the less artistically inclined people like myself it's so useful.
Exactly this! I have tried and tried to get my brain around color theory and all that stuff and it just doesn't work for me. So something like this with an idea of what colors to use together is amazing for me.
Can’t believe how great these paints look. The opacity, coverage, vibrancy and smoothness of them is amazing. This new gradient system produces some stunning results particularly the six paint gradient version. Next thing I’d love to see you guys do is a full range of metallics and iridescent paints.

Excited for release. I'm picturing getting a flexible triad for painting an army, allowing me to add variety to the different groups of units but still having them tied together by a color scheme via the triad.
Ahh I can't wait. :D Thank you so much for this system I always struggle so much finding the highlight color that fits a base color. :D I feel this will help me so much! :D Just release them already, I want that complete box :D

I really want to see the reviews coming in at large, cause an acrylic paint just can't be this good xD There's got to be a catch, there just has to be. If it's really as good as the examples make it look to be then the only thing I can think of to bring this range down a peg, would be the price.
I love the system, and particularly the thought that has gone into the consistency across the flexible triads, rather than “let’s make this pretty color”. Can’t wait till they come out!
I will def buy the full set when it's released in a box. Not been this hyped about a paintrange since GW announced Contrast paints all those years ago. This seems like a fresh rake on something so simple as acrylic range. If these are as good as they seem the range should be knows as acrylic+ :D
The flexible triads, and the selection of hues are an amazing feature on the design of your new line. Can't wait the see the final results of the paints :)
I’d be most curious to see how best to use the Fanatics line in combo with Speedpaints. Personally I’ve been having great success using Speedpaints over the top of colours from the P3 range. Some of my favourite combos so far have been light flesh tone -> fleshtone speedpaint & orange/orange-brown -> yellow/orange speedpaint. I’d really like to see how the Fanatics line holds up next to P3 before I buy in fully
Im really looking forward to these paints and thinking of taking the plunge with a big set when they are released. Please, please tell me that once you release these paints that you'll release the '6 flexible triads' in a set each. That would be a fantastic choice in purchasing options.
But how accurate are the swatches on the website? I notice that some brands like Vallejo, the paints are radically different in their product swatches online compared to what the paint looks like in person. That makes it hard to determine which paints to select when choosing a palette.
We strive to make our swatches presented online as accurate to the dried paint as possible; obviously, there will be some differences though, as a backlit monitor cannot 100% accurately reflect what matte paint on a flat surface would look like.
Not gonna lie the only thing that frustrated with the standard warpaints is that I wanted to mix up a good amber color but the demonic yellow in my starter set is simply too weak compared to the leather brown. Maybe I should step up to the mega set and experiment with more colors. I was just wondering if the fanatic line is that big of an improvement.
You can find all of the triads listed on the Warpaints Fanatic page on the Army Painter website. Each triad is its own set and doesn't share any colours with any of the other triads.
at this point i am just guessing, but they are not gonna be mono pigment paints, are they? if not, will the pigments be listed on the labels for more experienced painters?
It entirely depends on how you want to use them. If you want the smoothest applications you will want to dilute them a bit like with all acrylics. They are also designed to be thinned to extreme levels while still retaining strong pigment dispersion :)
@@TheArmyPainter signed up and look forward to that, i have been watching this development, and the paints i have used so far have been really good!! Will you be doing big box sets ?? Be good to have the entire range 🤔
I was wondering how close the color triads were to one another ? my question may make more sense in that context. like using the blues into the greens. but using the 3-6 of the blue and 1-3 of the green. or is there a jump between the two ? kinda a where are the gaps question. @@TheArmyPainter
You can see all of the triads on the Warpaints Fanatic page on the Army Painter website. Each Triad is meant to stand on its own, though you can certainly mix and match colors across them
They will be available through a number of sources, pre-orders for the first box sets will be up for pre-order on The Army Painter web store in January 2024.
So my question is what is to prevent someone from buying a bunch of white and each of the darkest of the triads? At 4.25 per bottle need to stretch my dollar a lot further. They look fantastic BTW, but even at 3.50 per paint in the complete set it is still 750ish dollars for the set, that is a lot of money when each of the triads are just a brightened version of a single color. I am buying this for the base paints not the effects paints or washes or the like. How many sets of the base triads are there, I am guessing like 30, that is a lot of money for what is essentially 30 colors and their lightened versions. Maybe I am completely off base and there is something else going on, if so please let me know.
Hi, there are 27 unique Flexible Triads. You could certainly buy a few colours from a Triad and mix to achieve what you want. The advantage of the 6 colours in the Flexible Triad is for ease of painting, and not having to mix, but just grabbing the bottle you need, which really becomes handy when working on a larger project such as an army :)
you all really hit it out of the park with this line, might be the first time i buy into a whole set!

Will the triads be their own purchaseable sets?
Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks :)
Will this exist alongside the normal warpaints or this a complete re work of the line as a whole?
The original Warpaints line will be phased out for Warpaints Fanatic
Awesome!😊
Have we seen all the sets of 6 colors yet?
Are there sets that share a paint bottle between them?
You can find all of the triads listed on the Warpaints Fanatic page on the Army Painter website. Each triad is its own set and doesn't share any colours with any of the other triads.
at this point i am just guessing, but they are not gonna be mono pigment paints, are they? if not, will the pigments be listed on the labels for more experienced painters?
very amazing !!
Can you release mapping from citadel to fanatic? So I can pick these but use it on my current models which are done with citadel paints
Will these available in little sets?
0:09 When does the news come regarding the release of the ArmyPainter Mug?
I think one of my biggest problems is how i dilute my paint.. Do you use those colors straigt from the wetpalette or do you add some water?
It entirely depends on how you want to use them. If you want the smoothest applications you will want to dilute them a bit like with all acrylics. They are also designed to be thinned to extreme levels while still retaining strong pigment dispersion :)
Sooooo when you said preorder in January, you meant January 1st right? Because I CAN'T WAIT.
When is the Fanatic range available ???
The first box sets will be available for pre-order in January 2024
@@TheArmyPainter signed up and look forward to that, i have been watching this development, and the paints i have used so far have been really good!!
Will you be doing big box sets ?? Be good to have the entire range 🤔
Will you ever create your own paint pot? Just an idea. Love your videos by the way!
Why?
I refuse to paint anymore minis til I get my hands on these!
Yes, that's the reason I have a bunch of backlog too... yeah 😅
The hype grows...
are they set up so you can use 1-6 from one triad and overlap with a triad right next to it on the color wheel where 6=1 of the next color triad ?
Each Flexible Triad is its own set of colors. It doesn't overlap with another Triad, if that's what you're asking?
I was wondering how close the color triads were to one another ? my question may make more sense in that context. like using the blues into the greens. but using the 3-6 of the blue and 1-3 of the green. or is there a jump between the two ? kinda a where are the gaps question.

You can see all of the triads on the Warpaints Fanatic page on the Army Painter website. Each Triad is meant to stand on its own, though you can certainly mix and match colors across them
got ya . I 'll have a look @@TheArmyPainter
Are pre orders available yet?
January 2024 for the first box sets :)
Will these be available on Amazon?
@@TheArmyPainter thank you for your response, it is good to know what is coming out, thank you.
Enough talking! I need those paints! And the Mug as well! 😂
I wish these teals were a bit more saturated. Vivid teal is my favorite color, so I'm a bit sad that it's not present.
They're pretty vivid and saturated :)
Can you bye them in sets of six
Try all you want- youre not gonna make a paint to offset my lack of skill. Stoked for these though
and for Brazil, when will it turn?
