All we really have outside of Gmod and Roblox is storm chasers and Twister: research and rescue. So having more competition is great for a new market.
I don’t wanna chalk it up to WX personalities and storm chasers getting more traction on social media, but I feel that has a massive impact. Like, I’m still seeing that video of TIV intercepting a tornado from years ago. You’ve also got more people watching Reed now, too.
@@WhopperJrNoCheese Also kind of feels like technology is to the point where we can get realistic simulations of weather patterns and not just your typical rain/overcast type. I was watching a video on Outbrk and the dev was talking about it, some new engine that accurately displays the weather and updraft, etc. Probably just wasn't really possible before.

@@growingup15 im pretty sure it's due the the popularity of the game Storm Chasers being shown, it's recently died down due to the game being abandoned. And there has been a lot of recent media on storm chasing, and the hobby is very popular in America, so it's a great genera to capitalize on.

I hope you pay homage to Tim and Paul Samaras and Carl Young in this game. It'd be nice to see some of the leading scientists and the only storm chasers to die to a tornado be given homage in games like this to help keep their name alive in the community.

@@JameyMcQueen My dude, it's pretty well known that they're some of the only ones to die in a tornado from direct damage and connection. All others are indirect deaths from other factors. Maybe do some research before you start trying to correct people. It's a really simple google search. They were the first known storm chasers to be *directly* killed by a tornado. All others were not *direct* damage, rather they were incidents that happened during the storms, like a man hydroplaning or a man being struck by a car when he crashed after trying not to hit an animal fleeing the storm. Another one happened when storm chasers were in a crash trying to film. Not directly related to the tornados they were chasing or **caused** by the tornado itself. Again, try doing some research, it's not hard.
Ok ok ok you are both *technically* correct here. El Reno killed 4 Storm Chasers three of them apart of TWISTEX (Tim & Paul Samaras as well as Carl Young, Rest in Peace) there was one more amateur storm chaser Richard Henderson who was also directly killed by the tornado while chasing. While not as experienced or well known as the other three he was still a storm chaser chasing that tornado and killed directly because of it, RIP. These are the ONLY direct deaths due to storms or tornadoes in storm chasing history up to this point.
@@goofygaming4641 You're correct. I went back and did some extra digging because I was not aware of Richard Henderson or that he was a storm chaser. In my awareness I did not know he was a storm chaser, I simply thought he was one of the unlucky ones to get hit. So there's four storm chasers to die to one tornado. I apologize for not including Mr. Henderson, as I wasn't aware of his existence. Thank you for correcting me and giving me this knowledge.
I love how we had Storm Chasers for forever. Now there's gonna be five tornado chasing games out at the same time (that I'm aware of)!

Storm Chasers supports VR partially, not all the controls work for example with my Quest 2 controllers, but I can play it with an XBOX controller.

I’m so ready for someone to translate this to a console game. Love watching these games but would like to be able to play these games other than Twisted on Roblox, on my PlayStation and on my own. Game looks amazing and can’t wait to see people play it.

Possibly in the future if the game ever got big enough, as a solo dev I'm more focused on the "fun" and core features for early access. Realism is an end-goal though. 👍

Why is the view count on this video substantially lower than the subscriber count
The video was re-uploaded to reflect a name change and the algorithm didn't like it. Also this used to be a channel for GTA V stuff until I re-purposed it for this game. 👍
I don't need video games, I chase in real life
I can't wait for the tornado games coming out, but I despise how Unity looks (which I'm guessing this is Unity). Its such an ugly game engine that a lot of indie games using it look very similar to each other. The upsides being its quickish to learn, simple to use, and user friendly (for the most part). This is not a bash on the game though, I'm sure the developer(s) are trying to make a game that will be well received with the limited resources they have.
