I dont get why they stopped making the db4? Was it too complex for the average dj. 4 channels, per channel loopers (and it worked insanely well), per channel fx (great fx), 2 filters with kills, high/mid/lows per channel with kills, amazing routing setup, good usb sound card, when paired with k2 controllers you got a bunch of extra features for the loopers. Its like ableton in a box. The px5 doesnt even come close. The model 1 while sounding gorgeous only has a single master filter, no sound card, no options for routing, no fx controls so you need one hand on the mixer and one on an additional controller. the db4 just had it all, glad I still have mine.
Thanks 🙏 the kick is a sample. It’s the side chain input on the compressor on the DT and yes heat adds some saturation. Lots of filtering on the low end of other tracks to get out of the way though….
@@spadehead great tip, I'll need to pay attention to some of the filtering I have set between the tracks... it can get muddy, more volume or overdrive on the kick doesn't necessarily fix it, not to get it to sound clean like this does thats for sure. Could you be so kind to share how you are midi syncing the DFAM? I just purchased one, but I know with my DT set up, I'll want to trigger it using the digitakt, and playing it also thru the digitakt via a keystep.
the greatest dj mixer ever built
So good 🤘🏻
Sounds really cool - I was unable to ever understand these kind of set ups but always admired the creativity these should be providing.... Thank you!
Thanks!

Amen. It’s definitely a beast and hard to beat.
Dope! I use a similar set up. 🤖
Such a clean techno sound. The kick sounds so good on the Digitakt, Is that contributed more from the Analog heat or the Xone mixer?

I've listened to this set a good 3 times full over, sincerely enjoyed the style, very inspiring.
@@embazle yeah bass width filter is your friend here. Cut the bass wherever it’s not needed 👍🏻
@@embazle thanks, appreciate it 🤗
what is sequencing the digitact? it sounds really good like ableton without a pc
Digitakt is main sequencer in this. MIDI out to CV-OCD which is clocking DFAM and giving it a pitch input. Internal DFAM sequencer then gives variety.
how the fuck is that little pico (?) module attached to the dfam case?
It’s the Sonoclast MAFD. It gives you midi control over the dfam.
@@spadehead woah
