Shouldn’t be a surprise. It was clearly a chase card for modern and commander players. Wizards loves the money 5 color brings in and every season they make it more and more easy to play 5C
I love my monoblack devotion decklist for this reason. I play it solely for the free pips but it is so strong against a few of the best decks in Pioneer. It also has feet against some other strategies, like control with Memory Deluge
@@artificialfreedom Lists like this are really more about seeing which ones are most competitive. Blame youtube's algorithm requiring constant uploads, don't blame Nizza.
Are there that many that have seen competitive success outside of sliver decks? As much as i love these guys, the list sadly wouldn't be very interesting otherwise.
I´m surprise leyline of anticipation, didnt have even a singel point in standard. anyway great list. would be cool to get more leyline like abundance, aka with activated abilities.
I was playing Commander (Online). Even went first. (Mono-Green Elf Tribal). Opponent dropped on turn one: Land, Mystic, Leyline of Abundance and Guildpact. Turn 2 Nixbloom Ancient. Turn 3: 117 mana.
For those wondering: the 2 that didn’t make it are Leyline of Lightning (Red, whenever you cast a spell, pay 1 to deal 1 damage) and Leyline of the Meek (White, ALL creature tokens get +1/+1).
So I guess the deck that drops 5 Leylines and Serra’s Sanctum to play Coat of Arms on turn one never really took off. Or was it 4 Leylines and dropping opalescence with the sanctum? That was the easier way. You could crop rotation for the Sanctum too.
I really wish that they'd give more subtypes in MTG, like, Leylines should be an enchantment subtype and then we can make some cool synergy with them. It's almost as cool an idea as "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
Key line of anticipation is crazy in my Grolnok deck, in combination with my enchantment that lets me untap my land on endstep. I just get to cast my massive pile of croak counter permanents twice as often
How would the leylines compare with other effects that activate if they're in your opening hand like gem mine, archangel of the dross and serum powder?
you know, if Leyline of Lifeforce just effected spells, I could see it coming back as a way to fend off the obnoxious bodies that they just attach Ward to nowdays.
@@NizzahonMagic Ah fair point; the way you read it made it seem like that's just what the Draco card itself actually does by default, and the Leyline just made it easier to get out - in comparison, it was a lot clearer when you explained how Leyline of the Void actually affected the Helm to make it more powerful.
Man I had a mono green anti counter deck back in standard ravnica with 4 Lifeforces. It dominated a tournament but I let my buddy win cuz he’s a better player n went to Amsterdam to play. I got the prizes hahah
I hate these cards. Almost as much as I hate planeswalkers. When someone starts mulliganing down to like, 3, because finding the card is essential to them groundbreakingly swinging the game in their favour, is so frustrating. It stalls the game and isn't fun or skill based, at all.
I'm surprised at how successful Leyline of the Guildpact has been in such a short time frame. At this rate it'll be number 3 by the end of the year.
Free spells in any and all of their forms will always find a place imo
Unless it gets banned Monday....

It was the most obvious staple out there im surprised no one saw it coming
This list probably has the most obvious top spot so far
As a cat oven player, leyline of the void is great to have, especially in a graveyard mirror, but you never want an opponent to have it.
I completely forgot and was shocked to see it's not symmetrical. The fact it lets you have the monopoly on graveyard shenanigans is just mean.

I didn't know there even were 10 Leylines.
There are 12, pretty dumb list lol

"The Leylines that aren't those other two".
This was a really fun list! And I like how you’re doing two cards in the thumbnails now.
Nice to see some usage of those leylines:D they were a lovely concept!
What about top 10 Slivers?

Wizards missed the chance to add to Leyline of Combustion the flavor text "Where fire and fuel converge".
How did I never know that all Leylines are 4 mana?

which enchantment?
Leyline of the Void?
Edit:
Ayyyy, easy
" Back to Nature " tums great here :D

I really wonder what the card withte most point EVER is. I bet either obt, counter spell, thoughtsize or bolt.
you know, if Leyline of Lifeforce just effected spells, I could see it coming back as a way to fend off the obnoxious bodies that they just attach Ward to nowdays.
Because 2 mana should solve all your problems right?
Points wise, that was very impressive.
5:34 Scion doesn't have all those keywords, as each creature only has the given keyword if it's that color..and Scion is colorless?
Not with Leyline in play. That's the whole point.

#10 ight be usable with the Assassins Creed cards that care about Historic cards

I had a strong feeling Void would be #1
All the green leylines made the list. Interesting.
All of the black leylines also made the list
Leyline void
Leyline white
Leyline gp
Gp will catch up unless banned
I‘m surprised that there are enough leylines for a top 10
Awesome work sir!!
I use My leyline of singularity in My empress galina edh
Any EDH players with opinions on the leylines? Are they worth it, considering you will almost never see them in your opening hand?
If you can cast them and are even sometimes happy that you drew them then yes.
Didnt even know there was more than 6 😂
The most lopsided top 10 ever? I can't recall any other where the top 3 started in the 20s and jumped more than 100 points twice
Guildpact would overtake void easily at this rate in couple of years. But I don't think it's staying in modern for long (bans next monday)
first non bot lmao

I like cheese
Leyline of Cheese: Any time you go to the Cheese Tasting Phase, you gain 3 extra pieces of cheese.
This feels like youre getting desperate for top 10 content
