@@classicminiworkshop Yup, take the wife to the kitchen, take the husband to the garage, take grampa to the crapper and take the teenagers to the basement n lock the door....... n run!!!
Oh boy howdy you have your work cut out for you getting ready to do all of the cutting out the rust work . Congratulations on your new house mate you've got some amazing kids
You can usually tell as the weld line for a standard sill is about 2-3" under the floor whereas an over sill is a good 6"+. Also an over sill has closed vent holes (flutes) at the bottom, a standard sill has open vents and you can stick a finger up inside them
The jig is sturdy and solid. Fixes well to the Mini. It's not that easy to rotate, you need 2 people really which is a bit of a pain. I guess that is due to the balance point. Castors are good and it moves around well. It is a lot more expensive than it first looks though, you pay extra for everything so a £299 Jig soon becomes £600.
I would love a video of how to detect over sills , some idiot might hide it very well from us, sorry I can’t make the house warming :) Rick, I notice if im not wrong the vent holes are not functional with over sills
Yes, the car is for Marks wife and she only has an Auto licence so needs to stay as an Auto. We have got a later 1275 SPI Auto so it's got a bit more poke than a 998 and no choke to worry about. The engine will probably get a light tune, not too much as I doubt the box will cope with much more than 60BHP
Good work guys
Thanks Tony
Nice work gents. Good luck with your new house I hope it comes with a nice big garage and workshop?
Oh yes, the estate agent thought it most odd to start the viewings in the garage :)

Great video If you turn the height adjusters that bolt to the a frames the other way up it will rotate better.
Scott Brown Thanks, will look at that
I would think drill the barstead and look for 2 layers ,

Keith, Mark, Top job boys what do you think of the jig ? Does make life a lot easier and the cutting and welding a doddle lol. Cheers Dave

Are you gonna be keeping it an automatic?
