Knowing the core of who you are and what you want to do, plus leaving room for recognizing it might change - that's real. My favorite venue to go to is smaller, where indie bands play, and even in the balcony it feels intimate, but I'm also happy when I see bands I love move into bigger venues that hold more fans. Yes chase big. Many say like in the song don't go chasing waterfalls stick to the rivers and streams you know. The only problem with this is if you stick the rivers and streams you know you might only be left with a dripping tap and a puddle. Whereas those waterfalls you may not get (you might) but could be left with a lovely river and its streams.
Nice positive vibes :) I have a list of half hearted 'things I should do' which mostly relate to my rusty car hobbies, so perhaps I should promote some of them to 'things i WILL do' Also, This Garden is an awesome Levs track, most recently saw them back in December, when they played with Neds in Wolverhampton, top gig :)

Great band name: "Animals Wearing Clothes".😂 To elaborate on the inspirational part of your video: I decided just over a year ago to only play at pubs and similar venues if they were okay with original music, at least in part. I now only do fifty/fifty my own stuff/covers the majority of the time. If it's a wedding or house party I'm fine with covers as I'm less likely to be treated like a human jukebox 😅. My next stage should be to mention my own songs for the private stuff too. Maybe in a year or so stop doing pubs and move onto ticketed venues only (I'd do this now if I made any income from my own songs! 😆). Anyway, apologies for the short story, just trying to put across that your encouragement to Dream Big has now helped. 🙂 And it's also reminded me about bringing in some visual elements, not just playing the songs, which I'd forgotten about.

This is super exciting. As you know I go to a lot of gigs and I’ve definitely been missing seeing you live though understood why. Will be fantastic to see you play again and a SBE headlining gig would be perfect. Your comments about manifesting things made me think about John Otway, he’s a very different type of artist but the list of things he’s made happen in his career, by pretty much just saying he’d do it, is clear evidence you can make amazing things happen.
Have you thought about house parties? I've been to a couple of Amanda Palmer house parties and they were just magic nights. To be clear - not instead of The Empire, as well as a the Empire!
I'm sure you can play any venue you'd want! You succeeded in getting high up into the music charts as an independent musician, so why not this? I hope you'll also cross the pond and play in Belgium some day! ☺ (Also: cool bit of new music at the end of the video!!).
@@Penfriendrocks yeah i can imagine brexit has made things so much more complicated 😞. I know that UK bands like Big Joanie and Yur Mum play here a lot so they might be able to give you advice. I'm curious where you played in Belgium. (And sad I missed it and didn't know you music yet then).
