@@MrPerciG I didn't take it as demeaning to either of them. Of course, people have diverse tastes. But they're both just so rooted in different pockets of the film/TV world. And I think with Nathan-to use his words-only recently 'stumbling into' a more cinematic space, it's probably just as bewildering to him.
I think we all have a picture of Christopher in our minds that he never watches TV, just makes his own movies and when he's not doing that he's like sitting in a library full of leather bound books

Huge surprise to me. I’m praying he uses Fielder for something in the future. Safdie was excellent in Oppie but outstanding in The Curse. I’m excited to see his evolution. I’m scared his head is grown big though since he split with his brother now.
tf lmao he has a big head cause they mutually split as one partnership so they can grow as the individuals they are…. you know the coen bros didn’t always make movies together. ppl are expecting them to deliver more thrillers together but they obviously don’t want to be boxed into that future. josh got a new project coming out too soon. i can just understand living in peoples expectations. benny might try to venture into just acting, producing and writing cus he barely if did direct any eps of the curse, i was surprised at every end credit it was mostly nathan directing.

Nolan is absolutely correct - Emma Stone’s performance in this series was f**king astonishing. She was absolutely pitch perfect in every single scene, every single little moment. It was a treat to witness.
unbelievably exciting to see Nolan say both the curse and the rehearsal are “incredible”… is there a world where Nolan, Fielder and Safdie make a movie together?? It would be the most mind bending movie of all time haha I’m so happy.

I was FLOORED when Nolan mentioned the 9-volt in The Rehearsal. Such a minute detail that I feel like I’ve talked with everyone who’s seen the show about. It’s literally blink and you miss it but adds so much genuineness to the episode.
Nothing more validating than filmmakers I respect openly admiring Nathan's work. I hope Nathan keeps his unique approach intact with all these admirers around him!

The thing about the extras looking into the camera kind of creeped me out in a cool way. Specifically the scene where the camera is inside a house looking out the window where the woman that lives there is watching tv on a couch in the dark in the corner. One of the times the camera cuts back to that angle the woman is staring directly into the camera until it cuts away and that caught me so off guard. Love that scene.
What a compelling and insightful conversation. Even weeks after the finale I still haven’t stopped thinking about this series and its many layers. I can’t wait to see Safdie and Fielder’s next project.

I don’t think I ever expected Christopher Nolan to ever shed the whole “he’s intimidating and rigid” moniker because he’s so thoughtful and just a very pleasant human being who happens to be the best film maker we have right now. Very glad he’s doing things like this to show himself a bit more

The way the content and poignancy in Nathan's work has progressed is impressive. I like that the plotlines are absurd and psychoanalytical. It's just phenomenal
Big kudos to Showtime, they made it possible for Lynch to do what he desired to do with Twin Peaks: The Return & here also for the opportunity so that a show like Curse can be made.

So glad Alice Coltrane let them use the song. That song is everything. Its so perfect for the show. Its mysterious, weird, yet so evocative. It makes me feel all sorts of emotions that i cant really put my finger on. Reminds me of david lynch.

Nolan is pretty cool here. He’s always been a good filmmaker, but just as a personality, I think we’ve reached peak “cool Nolan” at this moment, and I just want to take a minute to appreciate that.
the commentary about the limit of the characters' charity being exposed is very insightful, it's a feeling of both judgment and confrontation of the self, especially with asher
Watched the show. This will occupy my brain for a long time. Just a mind bender, emotionally infuriating, hilarious, and Emma Stone is a goddess of acting. Just every emotion in her voice, on her face, from her body, just nails the character of Whitney. So obsessed
I grew up in Española and had no idea about the show being based there until weeks after it came out (moved out for college and been gone since). I am grateful to hear how respectful Nathan and Ben are to the town and people. The town has a lot of challenges and it is an easy target for mockery, especially by the Santa Fe types they are critical of here. But it is also beautiful in many ways, and the people are genuine.
Showtime please keep going into exploratory neat odd weird places.... :) Great show and cheers to all who worked on it.. Thanks..

I was there, fun times! Chris being able to mine this show for intelligent questions is the most genius thing i've ever seen him do and he's my favorite filmmaker.
This is awesome, I've been strangely attracted to this show, it's such a unique complicated reason as to why, and to know that someone like Christopher Nolan is gushing over it just makes me shine, can't imagine what it must be like for these two up and coming legends.

Wow, Nathan has said before that his favorite film is Inception and a lot of his work including the final episode of The Curse must have had inspiration or reference. Now here's Nolan moderating and mentioning he's a fan. Don't be afraid to wear your influences on your sleeve when making your own art.
The more I watch Nathan and Benny's interviews, the more I adore this show. Truly unbelievable from every aspect of the filmmaking process and I'm so inspired

Comedy is a subversion of expectation. The Curse has been a subversion of emotion which I don't think I have experienced before. I don't even know how to put to paper what it made me feel. But it was like this brewing feeling of anxiety when it seems fine, comedy when it doesn't. It seriously will either be a massive hit, or in 10 years people are going to finally understand why it was so important.
