  • Today is a fun day because we get to show you both 1st look and 1st drive of the Hyundai Casper, Hyundai’s smallest SUV. The Hyundai Casper is a micro SUV that is even smaller than Hyundai Venue. This all-new Hyundai SUV has the same length and width, but this small SUV is about 5 inches lower and has about 5 inches shorter wheelbase compared to the Kia Ray. The 2022 Hyundai Casper is powered by either 1.0mpi or 1.0 GDi Turbo, the turbo makes about 100hp and 126lb. and the engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic. The Hyundai Casper only comes with a front-wheel drive. The Hyundai Casper is scheduled to be sold in Korea and in India, but let’s wait and see, because I am hearing that Hyundai will roll out the EV Hyundai Casper. Who knows Hyundai might introduce Hyundai Casper EV in N. America.

    It'll never happen, but a grey one (amazing color) with a 6MT and sports suspension would be awesome - a cut rate Mini competitor that wasn't in the shop all the time. You could even keep the engine the same 100 hp to keep costs down.

      @syoon9437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. Casper DO NOT Replaces Morning/Ray. While the priority of Ray is a 'Korean KEI-CAR', Casper is a SUV, like Suzuki Hustler.
      More specifically, Casper is the follow-up model of Hyundai ATOZ/Santro, which has been discontinued in Korea.

    • @johnholst
      @johnholst 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@syoon9437 Perhaps. I only bring it up because it seems they are getting rid of many good small cars in favor of small suv's here in Korea. For example, when they introduced the Rey, they stopped selling the Pride. We also stopped getting the Accent. And we no longer have the i30 in Korea. I think it won't be long before they ditch the Morning and Rey as well. We'll see.

    • @syoon9437
      @syoon9437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnholst As part of cost reduction, KIA does not directly produce small cars. Instead, they have made a company called 'Donghee Auto' to produce Morning and Ray. There are more complicated reasons, but unless KIA closes the company or releases other model for replacement, Morning and Ray will be produced in Korea. Maybe one of them could be discontinued, but not both. Highly unlikely.
