      Peers want to start six figures but it may not be realistic to get in the door. Seniors I know are struggling to get jobs and it's almost April. I'm still looking for an internship to add industry experience. At this point I'll take whatever internship that opens, even if it's not directly related to interest in robotics.

      I'm not sure when this first aired, but yeah, "juice jacking" or whatever we want to call it, don't connect your device to anything that you can't trust... portable power banks are super cheap.

      Absolutely. I don’t even use the USB outlets on lamps in hotels and such, I bring my own charger and cube and plug it into the electric outlet. No chance I’m going to use some public charging system that I have no control over.

      The worst pitch has yet to be beaten from the first season. Ionic Ear. Requires surgery to implant bluetooth technology. And to get any upgrades, you would have to go back for more surgery.

    2:26 - Note what he says, he said "We test it all on the back end"
    What that means is that the code for the fingerprint scanner works, but they haven't tested out the hardware (the actual technology). Which is a massive problem, the code could run no problem, but the actual application of that code through the physical technology could not work.

      powerbanks. Literally been around so long they're already out of fashion. Right around the time phones which generally last all day were invented.

      Yeah in 2014 when this originally aired, sure. Back then indeed fingerprint sensors were pretty poor, and good ones very expensive. Today fingerprint sensors (that work well) are everywhere, including on every laptop, cellphone, etc. That said it's not a good idea in any event, esp. with what it was costing them.

      When you have a business this bad, the kind thing to do is actually be brutally honest and tell them how much it sucks. These guys probably had so many close family and friends keep telling them to “chase their dream” and that they had a good idea that the entrepreneurs were totally blinded by how terrible it actually is. Realizing your business is doomed is the first step to ending it and moving on to something more productive in your life.

      no, because while the sharks may have private jets, they probably understand that a large chunk of their consumers face this issue.
      When investors are pitched an idea, they assume the position of a customer. They know most products aren't for them. Hence the "explain like i'm 5". They ask that to see if your average customer will understand what the product is.

      Looks like they did reduce the production cost and the amount they charged the businesses but they could not find many customers.
      Better portable changers and longer battery life meant that the use of such changing stations was going to be limited.

      Why would a charging dock for business phones need security though? Just put the dock in an area only employees can get to. Some hospitals have phones they give employees at the start of their shift. The charging stations aren't out in the open and they require a special sign on to even use.
      This product overcomplicates simple solutions

    Worst Shark Tank pitch was a couple who pitched an aphrodisiac bar. It was never tested or proven to even work. It tasted horrible, they had no sales. Best part is they were a husband and wife who both had 6 figure jobs they gave up to do this. They spent all they're savings and 401k on it leaving then with nothing. Sold their house, sold their cars. And on top of that.. the husband needed an operation in his brain and without it they might have a year for him to live. They were in absolute tears. Horrible and pathetic in every way.

    I saw something like this at a meeting in Berlin in 2023. People were using it and it looked great. Little cubby holes with phones charging. It might have used credit cards for security. I'm not sure.

    Keys have worked in sports venue lockers for years? I used to put a coin in to get the key. Put the key back to get your stuff out. Key is then back where it started. Keys are cheap to replace too.

    In canada, there are things like this everywhere. But instead of fingerprint its a code. I rarely see them used, but in busy places there are always a few slots being used to charge stuff.

    I don't know if you have this in US but here in Moscow a lot of businesses, subway stations etc have these machines with 10-40 power banks stuffed in them. You scan a code, pay for it, and take the power bank with you. I've never actually used one myself but plenty of people do, it is even half-expected of businesses to have it available. I'm not sure if you have to put it back in the same slot or any machine anywhere (which would be even better).

    Most wall outlets at DIY retailers are getting usb A and USB c slots put in them between the plugs. All new construction electrial work will use these. The actual plug adaptors for charges to are about to be obsolete. I we will carrry is about a 3 to 6 ft cord with usbA ir usb C ends on them 😊
