Dark/black space ambient with a definite drone underpinning has become the preferred ambient niche genre for me

    • @VortexAudial
      @VortexAudial ปีที่แล้ว +1

But it's probably the least explored and there really is not a whole lot of true dark space ambient out there imo

Space, isolation, void as far... and even further than I can see....Exactly what I needed.

Then stick around. There will be more void, nothingness and isolation on this channel 🌷

Thanks very much. I checked out yours as well and subscribed. Sounds great. I especially like that you add sound effects that support telling the story of the title. Keep em coming.

    Nice space sound music :)
I like because it flows from one stage to another with different sounds. Like exploring new worlds. I sometimes come across a few artists who share their space music on TH-cam, you, LUX, Iron Cthulhu Apocalypse, Janet Craft, (hey! That's me!) and listen. I must say that in this vastness of our beautiful Universe, there is plenty of room to listen to great space music and I must say, you're up there with them :)

Thank you, Janet. There will be more in the very near future. Glad you liked this piece as well. Say, of all the space themed (dark) ambient albums out there, which are you faves? Not necessarily on youtube, but in general. Have a great day!

@@sphereshift_ambient What space dark ambient are my faves other than yours and mine? Good question :)
It has to be "Sphare Sechs - Transient Lunar Phenomenon" (2019) full album. The group is made up of two artists, Martin Strurtzer and Christian Stritzel. This album is based on documented astronomical observations of our Moon in which astronomers and amateurs alike have observed strange colored lights circling around at different areas of the Moon. A line of small white "dots" were reported also flying in a straight line formation as one observer noted. This goes back, I believe the 6th Century and NASA is aware of this as well.
What really perked up my interest from the album is a track called, "Meteor." I love that 7 minute track so much that I downloaded it and created a 1 hour loop track :) I even tried to imitate the sound/music using my synths. Martin Strutzer: You can find him here on TH-cam. He has a great collection of LIVE "stay at home" performances and he even posts up a few tutorials. Both artists are from the Cryo Chamber family. I'm sure you have heard of Cryo Chamber on TH-cam. They are the number 1 record label dedicated to dark ambient and its various branches. I even had a "chat" with the boss Simon Heath of their 24/7 LIVE Streaming a few years ago when Simon "dropped by" in the chat room. Believe me, you can imagine how many questions we asked him. He did mention my music, but he said, (at that time) that it wasn't what they're (Cryo) is looking for at the moment. Looking back at some of my "old" music I ask myself, I MADE THAT??? But I took the time to study more about dark ambient and REALLY LISTEN to other artists whether they are under a record label or not and learn from whoever I listened to. I have to admit, I have improved.
This past summer, I have created a little outer space adventure by placing myself as an astronaut. I entitled it, "Janet Craft - Space Patrol." I spent most of my free time and late hours creating over 40, 5 to 10 minute space ambient music with a theme, like - "Janet Craft - Space Patrol (First Mission to Jupiter)." All I have to do is create a video. I create and edit all of my videos. That takes up some time to do but as I learned along, I treat my "making of" as a film production in which I prepare everything as in pre-production. I was grinding my "Space Patrol" music like Roger Corman grinding out 3 to 5 films in 2 months.
Wanna know something? Roger Corman saved a lot of production costs by using used sets and recycled props. Me, I use my "recycled" sounds/music in various parts of my music audio when I'm creating something new :)
Hey, you learn from the pros, right?
There are other space ambient artists who I like: "Alphaxone."
Of course, when it comes to ambient space music, I have to give thanks to artists like, Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Shultze, Vangelis, etc .... and to those who invented it - the many artists from the 1960s.
Right now, I'm listening, (and trying to understand) Gyorgy Ligeti's works. Music is Avant Garde. I like him and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
One day I will try to play a version of Legeti's works - but on a synthesizer which no one has done yet - or even ... dared to try ... hahahaha :)
Thank you for taking the time to read this book :)
      All the Best!
      Cheers :)

@@janetcraft A very elaborate reply indeed. Sphäre Sechs I know. I saw them live twice. In times before Covid, Martin Stürtzer organised a dark ambient (mini) festival every year, called Phobos. I really miss that.
And yeah, I heard from Cryo Chamber ;) I actually own much of their catalogue.
Yeah, of course, one shouldn´t forget the classics. Not a big Schulze fan, but early (and very recent) tangerine Dream I love very much as well as the older Eno albums.
Have to check Ligeti, though Avanatgarde can be hit or miss for me. Well, okay, that´s a superfluous comment, since Avantgarde can mean everything.
Maybe you already know this series, but I think, this is as space ambient as it gets: th-cam.com/video/2cpXpgjUT2k/w-d-xo.html
All the best to you as well and keep producing. Maybe you can get a deal somewhere else. Cheers 🍻

@@sphereshift_ambient Hey! Thanks for referring me to the NASA Voyager space LP :) You're right! It doesn't get anymore dark spaceyer than that! The sounds of the Planets :) I wonder if that's where the term "Dark Space Ambient" came from.
Speaking about the Planets - I hope you are familiar with Gustav Holst "The Planets" (1914-1916). Before dark space ambient, before the MOOG synth - there was "The Planets." I even used "Neptune, the Mystic" song for one of my Audio/Visual assignments in my Cinematography/Photography college course.
Thank you for your reply back to me.
I only wish we can have such music festivals like you have here in Canada. All we get are those big showcase money making rip-off plastic "singers" who charge a week's pay just to buy a ticket to sit up in the "nose-bleed" section. Not for me thanks!
Give me an electronic music concert under a large tent somewhere in Leipzig and I'll be there. (Make sure beer is included in the admission fee).
But for now, I'll do my best and advance producing my projects in which I am thankful and happy - thank you for your advice :)
      All the Best!
And I'll see you in the next Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno and Martin Sturtzer concert in Leipzig :)
      Cheers :)!
