I really wish Shaw would have stayed alive, she was awesome. The characters in the next one paled in comparison they were throw away. Shaw IMO was the new Ripley.
Her sympathy got the best of her. She saw the robot as good while Ripley always distrusted them. But, you got to remember as a prequal she had to fail in order for Ripley to exist.

Actually, there is another song that I use to meditate, very very beautiful, but it is also linked to a particular period of my life. Instead, this audio relaxes me in an impressive way, it gives me calm and projects me into a condition of absolute peace and serenity. Very often I have also meditated with this song. I too feel it was a huge mistake to kill off Shaw. Her character could have been as rich and multi-faceted as that of Ripley. I looked forward to seeing how Ridley Scott would develop her story. Very disappointing that her story was discarded in favor of jump scares and gore. As to this music, my thanks. I have really been missing the love of my life, who died when I was 17, in a firefight in Vietnam in 1968. I guess this is somewhat normal for people in later life stages to circle back around to these old losses. Somehow this track puts me in a state where I can meditate on his life and what I hope will be a reuniting, somehow, on another plane.

I guess a wholesome story would have made the Hollywood sort envious. They're can't hold life together much less travel to meet god so we get rape dragons and ax murders. In Ridley Scott's original draft called "Paradise", Shaw was alive and played a significantly larger role. I think the studio pressured Scott to do just another gore fest full of things we've seen before, because a smart film is less likely to make piles of money. The first time I watched it, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I started to appreciate the depth of the movie as I continued to think about it, watch TH-cam videos about it and watching it a second and third time

Agreed. The 2-dimensional, man-hating dragon tattoo character only uses a fraction of Noomi's talent. Shaw is full of heart and humanity. Maybe they'll pull a Ripley, and clone her.

With all my respect, I think Sigourney Weaver earned her next movies as Ripley after first Alien movie where Noomi Rapace suffered a bit to do the same for sequels. And Michael Fassbender did the same thing where Sigourney Weaver did at Alien. Every first movie is a bit of a pilot, producers and directors try to evaluate the reaction of audience and decide what to do in next movies. Surely, Fassbender as David made an impact as a great "artificial person" role in franchise. Shaw was not looking tough or passionate enough on screen like Ripley or David. I think that's why the serie was headed into that direction. Alien movies need some badass characters. By the way, this sound is amazing, thanks.

The music is beautiful! The only thing that distracts from that is that Shaw died such a terrible death in the movie. In my mind I can't combine the beauty of the music with this idea. I know, it's just a movie, but it makes me feel sad. Must be getting old :D

Watching that scenery, I had a deja-vu moment, then I have realized that, at least some of the scenes were most likely shot at Milford Sound (NZ).
With all my respect, I think Sigourney Weaver earned her next movies as Ripley after first Alien movie where Noomi Rapace suffered a bit to do the same for sequels. And Michael Fassbender did the same thing where Sigourney Weaver did at Alien. Every first movie is a bit of a pilot, producers and directors try to evaluate the reaction of audience and decide what to do in next movies. Surely, Fassbender as David made an impact as a great "artificial person" role in franchise. Shaw was not looking tough or passionate enough on screen like Ripley or David. I think that's why the serie was headed into that direction. Alien movies need some badass characters. By the way, this sound is amazing, thanks.

The music is beautiful! The only thing that distracts from that is that Shaw died such a terrible death in the movie. In my mind I can't combine the beauty of the music with this idea. I know, it's just a movie, but it makes me feel sad. Must be getting old :D
