These extended behind the scenes are phenomenal. They allow for a great in-site into what your process is but also the way you communicate with your crew. Also your lighting (as always) looks beautiful as hell and definitely something that I always strive for in my own work. Keep up the amazing work!
Love seeing the collaborative effort and positive energy on set. The attention to detail for every shot is a testament to the professionalism of the team.
Gian: "I know it wasn't a big commercial" Also Gian: Sony Venice, Floppys, Flags, Dolly, expensive Lighting, basic crew of people probably on standard day rates including Producers, ACs, Grips, Soundie etc.. Meanwhile a "not big commercial" here in the UK: Just run around with that gimbal and see what you can get, no we can't do anything about the bad lighting now but we can fix it in post 😅 Not hating on Gian I promise, I just thought it was funny how perspective changes a person's views on what is considered "big" or "expensive" 😂
Epic video Gian. I would love to see a video where you focus on full budget breakdowns. As someone who works in the creative industry I always watch videos like this to understand the process and how to step into bigger budget productions as our client base grows. One thing that I see missing in a lot of these videos is how you budget your own time, obviously with this shoot you were working with a creative firm, yet from the world I come from, 50/60/70% of the budget one has to work with could potentially be in the creation/ideation of the video and the following edits after the initial production. I'd love to see a break down of how you navigate that, especially on projects you do from start to finish. I've seen lots of fantastic example videos but they mostly break down day of cost and in a way put their own time which I think is the most valuable asset in a separate box - but if anything it has to be accounted for and in many areas can't be scratched off as it will help my folio so we work for free. Keep up the amazing work and appreciate the behind the scenes! I love the other video you did with them and thought the whole production was top notch so really like seeing the behind the camera.
This is an excellent BTS look at a commercial shoot. It's such a helpful experience to just see some of these set-ups and interactions between you and your crew members. Great work, keep it up!
One of the BEST BTS I have seen in a long time. As always your videos are killing it. It's great to see your journey from start to today. You have evolved so much in such a short time, keep up the great work. Don't forget to take time for yourself and your personal evolution. You give so much value in one Video it helps me and the others to learn so much about DP work, lighting and Co. . Your game is next level 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You’re rock my dude 🔥🔥🔥 it’s amazing to see a young taking risk in a environment where this industry may not even exist. Put a few passionate crew together then bingo, that’s true love right there for the art
Bro, you're literally my film school! I don't know how many times I keep re-visiting your channel. Thank you for all your help, sending love from South Africa 🤟
Incredible BTS. Sucked in immediately. Amazing to see all those pros working like a well-oiled machine. Carlo, you are one cool dude. I never detected an iota of stress, though I know how stressful these environments can be. Thanks for putting this out there. Hugely entertaining and informative.
I love how collaborative and considerate you are if the edit afterwards. I'm aspiring to be like you, doing work you do, after I've finished studying. Just about finding way in for me, which seems difficult, hopefully I'll bet a foot in the door eventually
Another great BTS. I just started to vlog my gigs that allow it. I was just on a shoot with two Sony Venice V1's and Atlas Orion Anamorphic lenses. Hope to have that video up in a week or so.
These videos are soo helpful and entertaining. Being on set is literally what I always think about although I’m on vacation at the moment so no sweets too got to, but thank you so much for letting me sort of relive the sweet life with this video Carlo❤
This is really helpful! I am starting to work on commercials in my production company. It helps me understand more about the lighting setups and comms between the crew members!
Amazing content as always, so insightful. Would love to know ( if its possible ) to know the average budget for these commercials as in the whole budget for the production, just as reference - curiosity!
Great behind the scenes as always. What I really don't understand how you're able to pull focus on the Mars system. I have it and it gives me at least a full second of delay
Amazing vid as always Carlo! Would you be willing to update your gear list in the description? Curious what some of your favorite tools to work with are now! Can’t wait to see the cinematography breakdown!
Great BTS Gian, best in the game rn. Also, Greg & Nate give me hope, if they can be "filmmakers" by having the capital to fund such a great crew to film such an idiotic commercial, I can be a filmmaker too 😌 Just need the capital!
Great video! Man get some help when you move the camera around. I see you pick it up with the sticks and move it. Use your AC and save you back and wear and tear on your body. I was like you when I was younger and did the same thing, now I'm paying the price. Your audio sounds great. Is that a RODE Wireless GO? What lavalier did you use with it? Thank you.
Hey Gian, so are you also the director on this commercial ? I see you giving a lot of direction to talent. I thought you were just a DP ? I thought this video showed more about what it's like to direct a commercial from behind the camera.
I love this series, GIan! By any chance, did you all need to have permits and insurance for this shoot or was it just a matter of renting out the location?

Gian Carlo, please make a masterclass. I love watching you make creative decisions that always end up with beautiful results.
Carlo with the BTS AND it's with familar faces from True Classic Tees?!? Carlo you're spoiling us rn!!
Love seeing the collaborative effort and positive energy on set. The attention to detail for every shot is a testament to the professionalism of the team.

not to mention an awesome set which is clearly a public coffee shop that would be hard to close for filming with props as well
FYI. That's not even CLOSE to being a big commercial.
@@robertdouble559 I agreed, it looked very small scale to me, probably a web commercial? Not a tv commercial.
props to you man, just focussing on your shoot alone is tough as is, but also cramming in time to make a BTS for youtube is next level stuff.
I appreciate it
That Countdown was SICK bro. Can't believe how that lined up. Really loved that. OMG
These are the most valuable videos on the platform for filmmakers! Thanks for sharing Gian Carlo!
at the end it was so nice to see Stephanie thanking the guys
She’s great
My favorite Producer!

Amazing BTS Footage!
Very good video, it perfectly reflects how everything is lit, the equipment used, and the way it is recorded. I like it a lot!

It's great to see how everything is done behind the scene, thanks for sharing with us.
True classic tee! Hey Jimson!❤

You're such a W mans. You kill it every time!

Dude, very good! A dream would be to be on a set with a grip, too bad I'm Brazilian...
Great BTS Gian, best in the game rn. Also, Greg & Nate give me hope, if they can be "filmmakers" by having the capital to fund such a great crew to film such an idiotic commercial, I can be a filmmaker too 😌 Just need the capital!

Are you going to share the final commercial when it's done?
what is the big white sheet you put in front of the window to diffuse the light called?
Amazing
Curious as to why you didn't slate shots, especially since you are recording sync sound separately... I know our editor would have a hate on us..! :-0
Maybe this was mentioned in the video, so forgive me if so, but are those headsets the new Hollylands?
Thanks, thanks, thanks 👏👏
Welcome :)
choked on my food when liz got her intro
What kind of luts are you using on the monitors?
Thanks for sharing this. A lot of useful information.
Glad you enjoy it!
what camera did you use in this bts video?
same bmpcc 6k pro that you linked in the description?
Nope. I thinks it's sony venice or sony fx6, not sure.
thanks for the value
Always
@@carlostigs ma per caso parli pure italiano? perché chiaramente il nome lo è, ma magari hai solo origini e non lo parli :)

Recording in ProRes Proxy or as that a backup recording?
Just for proxies
Hey Gian, so are you also the director on this commercial ? I see you giving a lot of direction to talent. I thought you were just a DP ? I thought this video showed more about what it's like to direct a commercial from behind the camera.
3:37 What's "Chicago with a pancake"?
do you have a link to the finished spot?
is the camera sony venice?
👏👏👏👏👏
Juan is funny as hell
He is indeed
bro you inspire me
@3:38 "Let's try Chicago with a pancake." What does this set lingo mean??
When you place an Apple box on its side that’s called chicago and a pancake is the flat small apple box
@@carlostigs 🙏thank you for all that you contribute! are there other terms for placing the apple box different ways? like hamburger hotdog style?
So no link to the endproduct? nice....
Not out yet
@@carlostigs Thanks.
Are they using set a light 3d? 9:05
