Remember when everyone would fight over who would get to play with the official controller and who would get stuck with the shitty third-party controller?
I repair electronic devices for a living and when got my hands on these controllers for repair, please note they were never taken apart by anyone before. What I found inside was a disaster, it was missing screws were they were very important and in there place scuf just dabbed a bit of snot glue, and as a result as we all know this will only hold for a short period of time before give way a little, that was enough for some of the four buttons to stop working as the PCB lifted away a little from the flex cable that caused an issue with the triangle button line not getting a connection to the PCB. Apart from that they was a flat flex ribbon cable badly twisted inside. two of the main case side clips were broken off, no remaining bits were inside that indicated that they knew it had broken off when assembled by them, the security screw they uses was incorrect for this case as it was a machine screw, going threw plastic no no no scuf that is not correct, self tapper like the rest of them.
Xbox One. Because I previously owned a 360. I don't get this console war... if you have a ps3, get a ps4, if you have a 360, get an xbox one. (P.s. #PcMasterRace)

not entirely agree, but definetly agree to some point of your baseless opinion, i think modifying to suit your specific tastes more does no harm but i find modifying and having such a controller useless, i mean...all of the points shown here can be easily put aside, so really the "Why SCUFF?" is really more like a "Why not?", the remaping at the back is pretty useless as i have yet to find a game where it slowed me down with the basic controller maping, since i've been playing with the basics i prefer the circle sticks a lot more than a concave sticks, feels more natural that way, although the circle pad on scuff is sort of interesting indeed, but not even worth tasting, for fighting games i prefer directional pad and for precise movement on rpgs i just use the sticks soooo...FUCK THIS SHIT! AINT WASTING MORE MONEY FOR NO REALISTIC UPS! as for the downs on SCUFF, i think the comment bellow this one covers it up(by Richie), it's really interesting to see youtubers make propaganda almost pointing out that it's the best but each and every of my PS controllers since PS2 have yet to have any issues, i'm still using my PS3 controller for years and recently just put up a bluetooth connection for the PC to have a complete gaming experience on it, just need a 5 meter HDMI cable and I can run some high quality lan parties here. Controllers like this exist to fix an obvious ergonomic problem with console game pads; that you can't press the face buttons at the same time as using the thumb stick. If Sony and Microsoft just put remappable back buttons on their standard controllers then the market for controllers like this would almost totally disappear. tl;dr: This exists because 1st party game pad designs kind of suck.

If you have an extra PS4 controller. SCUF has a "send in controller" option where if you provide the controller you just pay for options and service. It dropped my cost about 65 bucks. However, after about a year my palm grips are ripped to shreds from constant use and my left thumb stick is too. Debating if I want to get a new one or just use it until the wheels fall off. Can't get too mad, normal wear and tear for the amount of games I play in over a year, it was bound to happen. Also, pro tip. Don't get white thumbs sticks. They look pretty out the box, but fade and become discolored fairly quickly (at least if you use it a lot, which again, makes sense)
You could always try Battle Beavers Custom. From what i have seen and heard from reviews on youtube they are a better priced and far more reliable choice.
i don't play many 1st person shooters anymore but if i did competitively instead of paying 150 for a controller i'd rather just use a keyboard and mouse probably the best way to play shooters

You're a liar if you don't instantly find shoulder button breaking videos on youtube, or complaints in regular google results. go ask someone at a EB games / gamestop about customer returns. L2 and R2 break constantly, R1 and L1 get sticky, and the rubber on the analog sticks rubs off like a pencil eraser. My original PS2 controllers are still working perfectly in comparison, and those are 15 years old. Yet I'm on my 3rd PS4 controller in just 2 years. *So you either don't own a PS4, or you're lying.*
+John Glue I like the PS4 controller when it comes to handling. It is the first PS controller that is not so small, it makes my hands clench up. But in regards to quality and durability, the DS4 is crap. The plug for the loading cable wears out really quickly, the shoulder triggers are held only by some flimsy spring that has the tendency of slipping out of their brackets and don't get me started about the inner workings. Some cables, for instance, are only held in place by some kind of clip and have a nasty tendency of slipping out of place. My little niece dropped my DS4 from maybe 40 cm height. It landed not that hard on the carpet and stopped working, because a cable slipped out of place. The PS3 controller could take all kinds of heavy abuse without breaking and the DS4 falls apart _inside_ after one small "incident"? Those things _are_ crap_.
Too Expensive! With $150 USD (no options), I could buy almost 3 PS4 controllers! If you pick some of the esoteric options to play more comfortable and whatnots, it could cost about a wapping $190 USD!

Hori made a PS4 controller also compatible with PS3 that I'd love for you to review. It has an Xbox analog stick layout which I personally prefer. It's perfect for anyone who transitioned from the 360 to the PS4. Considering they were the most popular consoles of their respective generations , I bet it is a very large % of current PS4 owners. It also includes some really interesting additional features geared toward fps games that you can't even find on scuff controllers. It's called the Horipad fps plus and is perfect for lets say someone who transitioned from Halo on Xbox to Destiny on PS4 or even Call of Duty for that matter. Did scuff manage to get rid of the dead analog glitch? That makes the cursor move on it's own or when L2 button is depressed it makes left analog sensor go forward... It still haunts the v2s...
Looks awesome. The ps4 controller should've come out like this since the beginning. My change from the ps3 to the ps4 controller was kinda awkward it seemed like it was slightly harder to aim with the ps4 controller than with the ps3 one. I think it's because you had more space to rotate with the L3 & R3 buttons so you could aim more precicely. With the ps4 controller, you have less space to rotate the L3 & R3 buttons around so if you rotate just a litte bit it the camera goes much stronger in that direction.

Pretty expensive. How are you supposed to know what you like and what you are good with? Dome thumb sticks or not, short, medium, or long thumb sticks, etc. I heard they can break easy too.
There are many of companies that offer this kind of personalized controllers. But I think that for PS4 controllers the best one in terms of button-remmap Is Gimika you people should check it out. They offer a remap of 4 buttons. Whichever you want and an easy way to change the mapping. The downside to me is that I don't like that much the art that they offer. but other than that, Gimika is really great.

If you have an extra PS4 controller. SCUF has a "send in controller" option where if you provide the controller you just pay for options and service. It dropped my cost about 65 bucks. However, after about a year my palm grips are ripped to shreds from constant use and my left thumb stick is too. Debating if I want to get a new one or just use it until the wheels fall off. Can't get too mad, normal wear and tear for the amount of games I play in over a year, it was bound to happen. Also, pro tip. Don't get white thumbs sticks. They look pretty out the box, but fade and become discolored fairly quickly (at least if you use it a lot, which again, makes sense)

You could always try Battle Beavers Custom. From what i have seen and heard from reviews on youtube they are a better priced and far more reliable choice.
i don't play many 1st person shooters anymore but if i did competitively instead of paying 150 for a controller i'd rather just use a keyboard and mouse probably the best way to play shooters
Most mlg tournaments are played on consoles. They are not allowed to use mouse and keyboard.

L2 and R2 break constantly, R1 and L1 get sticky, and the rubber on the analog sticks rubs off like a pencil eraser.
My original PS2 controllers are still working perfectly in comparison, and those are 15 years old. Yet I'm on my 3rd PS4 controller in just 2 years.

+John Glue I like the PS4 controller when it comes to handling. It is the first PS controller that is not so small, it makes my hands clench up. But in regards to quality and durability, the DS4 is crap.
The plug for the loading cable wears out really quickly, the shoulder triggers are held only by some flimsy spring that has the tendency of slipping out of their brackets and don't get me started about the inner workings. Some cables, for instance, are only held in place by some kind of clip and have a nasty tendency of slipping out of place.
My little niece dropped my DS4 from maybe 40 cm height. It landed not that hard on the carpet and stopped working, because a cable slipped out of place. The PS3 controller could take all kinds of heavy abuse without breaking and the DS4 falls apart _inside_ after one small "incident"? Those things _are_ crap_.
Too Expensive! With $150 USD (no options), I could buy almost 3 PS4 controllers! If you pick some of the esoteric options to play more comfortable and whatnots, it could cost about a wapping $190 USD!

It's perfect for anyone who transitioned from the 360 to the PS4. Considering they were the most popular consoles of their respective generations , I bet it is a very large % of current PS4 owners. Looks awesome. The ps4 controller should've come out like this since the beginning. My change from the ps3 to the ps4 controller was kinda awkward it seemed like it was slightly harder to aim with the ps4 controller than with the ps3 one. I think it's because you had more space to rotate with the L3 & R3 buttons so you could aim more precicely. With the ps4 controller, you have less space to rotate the L3 & R3 buttons around so if you rotate just a litte bit it the camera goes much stronger in that direction.

Pretty expensive. How are you supposed to know what you like and what you are good with? Dome thumb sticks or not, short, medium, or long thumb sticks, etc. I heard they can break easy too.
There are many of companies that offer this kind of personalized controllers. But I think that for PS4 controllers the best one in terms of button-remmap Is Gimika you people should check it out. They offer a remap of 4 buttons. Whichever you want and an easy way to change the mapping. The downside to me is that I don't like that much the art that they offer. but other than that, Gimika is really great.
