    I've had lots of rabbits over many years and none have ever eaten the cubes. They always ended up in the corner peed on. Never had luck with them.

      Shocking! Were they alfalfa or Timothy? I find Timothy cubes arent as favorited if I’m feeding Timothy hay at the moment as a base.. Alfalfa cubes are always a hit of course though

      @@extra825 pretty sure it was alfalfa, the local store only carries the one kind.

      I have pet rabbits and don’t eat meat. Honestly unless you are vegetarian or vegan it’s kinda hypocritical to be upset with this while you eat animals that some people consider pets.

    We've used cubes for years. Throw a couple in every cage and they always have something to nibble on. Your bunnies look great. 🤗

    I haven't ever considered Cubes. We use a LOT of hay though. The best thing I've done so far was done bulk watering with a 5gal bucket tank. Of course I'm in Georgia so we don't have much freezing weather to deal with. I realize this is old but we're doing a lot of the same things.

    I'm so curious what you do for your rabbits in the heat of the summer. I'm very interested in getting rabbits for my homestead but it hits 95+ for weeks at a time where I live and I don't know that they could handle it.

    I can’t find the packer pellets. It’s a great idea because I struggle to get everything done each day. A name brand or website would be appreciated.

      We get ours from a local-to-us feed producer. They are the cubes you have to use when you go into the mountains with pack horses because they are weed free.

    I always learn so much from you. Such a blessing. Thanks to your example and teaching, I have been building ( really, scavenging) up my "back yard store." That way when I get to be home full time I can start my own little homestead. Prayers and God bless.

    Are you giving them the cubes in place of free hay? Also, post on the hotbeds now. You can always post again later when the plastic is up.

      Give them oats and it's a balanced diet. Variety is the spice of life, though, so willow, leaves, grass, foraged weeds, kitchen scraps, etc. all make for healthy buns!

    Do NOT keep your rabbits in wide bottomed CAGES! It's so cruel!

    • @dirtpatcheaven
      @dirtpatcheaven  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have tried other caging systems and found that urine collecting on their feet from a wooden bottom cage caused much more damage than wire bottomed cages.

    • @anner3043
      @anner3043 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can put litter in the bottom of the litter box. It will absorb urine and is great for odour control. Wire bottomed cage scan lead to serious health problems. Sore hocks is something you really want to avoid, regardless or not if your keeping them for meat. They are very painful and if they end up with them, you could get charged for inflicting pain upon your rabbit.

    • @anner3043
      @anner3043 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are also way too small and there are legal requirements as to hope large a rabbits enclosure must be. I have no idea where you are but in the UK they would result in a fine and your rabbits getting taken away.
