Donkey Kong 64 is similar to Rareware's other Nintendo 64 platformer series, Banjo-Kazooie ( tasvideos.org/GameGroups/Banj... ), but stars Donkey Kong and his friends from the Donkey Kong Country games. Several new features have been added to the game, like 3D graphics and the ability to change between different characters with different weapons and abilities.
In this run, RingRush ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/R... ) uses glitches to skip a vast majority of the game and beat K. Rool in record time.
Due to differences between versions of the game, different timing methods, and the fact that RTA runs start with some features already unlocked, this run is slower than the RTA equivalent.

Gotta love that even a TAS takes about eleven minutes to get through this final boss, cutscenes included.
If anybody is confused as to what is going on at all, Bismuth made a very good video that covers everything. I really recommend it to everybody.

Turns out it's a cheat code. If you press them in a certain order, B. locker charges you less golden bananas to enter levels.
For Hideout Helm, you need to be Chunky, do the cheat code, AND punch him in the face.

Thats actually partially correct, you can clip through walls by manuplating the angle DK is facing aswell as the camera to reverse the collison detection of wall, making any wall (no kidding) clippable

You know an any% category of a game, TAS or RTA, is broken when the final boss is half of the run.
K Rool is such a long boss fight, he's half the run even in casual playthroughs.
Am I the only one who finds Donkey Kong’s grunting noises to be amusing
Fun fact: Grant Kirkhope (who provides said grunts) is very amused by the grunting noises. Do you know why? It's because he was meant to be the placeholder. And then the rest of the team refused to change it despite his request to get the final voice clips in.

even though i dint use tas i watched this while i was beating the boss to learn tips from it especially the last part where he turns invisible.

What happens with the music whenever he transitions to a room or level with different music? The old music still gets played and then suddenly cuts to the music of the current room/level. Weird.
This happened alot in the first few minutes until minute 8 I think.
Maybe he bypasses the point that tells the music to change
Side-effect of Intro Story Glitch.
Intro Story tells music to persist through transitions, whereas most places in the game cut it off
