just don't buy it .. don't feed the ubi monster... If they lose money then they will think about gamers and opinions... your comment was that I'll preorder it because I'm a TH-camr to see how what it looks like. now imagine no one streams that game, even no one talks about that game, no preorder or bought that game. That controversy helps that game more than you think and buying it will help them anyway...

Seriously? AC games specifically state that they are "LOOSELY" based in history and are NOT meant to be historically accurate and yet people are crying because Shadows isn't historically accurate? Wow!

      No excuse
Especially when there is zero quality and zero polish in any of their games

Their plan all along was to create controversy, thus free publicity, also for people to focus on this while ignorong the exhorbitant price where 70 dollars is the cheapest and you should spend more.

that’s exactly what it is, check boxes. I don’t find this surprising for today’s entertainment industry when the last generation grew up on participation awards and everyone gets a trophy

Despite announcing the game as a historically accurate and educational game, this is an apology that is inconsistent with what has been said so far, calling it fiction.
If you have the brain of an elementary school student, you may be able to empathize with this. But they are a global company.
When people get together who don't understand the meaning of the word social responsibility, they end up making apologies that are of no benefit to either party.

Sadly the cat is out of the bag and pretty much everyone knows that the easiest method to manipulate people has 2 steps:
      1) Tell an obvious lie, but say it's the truth
      2) Issue a fake apology
And that's it. A big number of people will believe (1) to be true and (2) to be a forced thing by some group.
Nowadays people won't even look for proof, they'll believe the first one to speak up.
Everyone uses this tactic, news, youtubers, politicians, regular people living their life, etc.

@@Art0r1a Thank you for your interesting story.
There are many times when I doubt whether my actions are of my own free will. I feel like I can understand how people choose the truth that makes them feel good.
I hope that people who have the power to motivate people have an altruistic personality.

In Nioh you play as a white dude, where were these people complaining then? There wasn't even a japanese character that you could select.

I would understand the rage that Shadows is receiving a lot more if it weren't for so many previous media publications.
Media has whitewashed Japan's settings continuously since its inception. E.g. Last Samurai, Scarlet Johansen in the Ghost in the Shell adaptation, Light Turner in the Death Note rather than the original Light Yagami, and William, a man So Ayrian, it would give the Nazi party a wet dream, in Nioh.
And yet, no one seemed to care. Now that it's a black co-protagonist, working alongside a Japanese co-protagonist, people are almost literally having a tantrum. Where was this vitriol when the aforementioned publications were released?
So far, the vitriol that this game receives appears hypocritical.

Didn’t need to apologise, shouldn’t be an issue in the first place

I agree! It shouldn't be an issue in the first place, yet Ubisoft had to fuck around and find out.

They should apologise for disrespecting the franchise and tradition and the fans

It's not a real apology until they swap Yuske out with an actual Japanese Samurai and scrub the entire game of DEI propaganda as well as show proof that they actually did.
