Notice the much more technical and melodic lead comes from Al Pitrelli. Nice work Al I have had the honor of getting to know both guitarists. Al was a teacher of mine in NYC Dave I met through a friend and Dave is a very very descent guy. Both of which I know and respect, Together this album was one of my favorites. One Day at a Time Bill
My favorite Megadeth song. The World Needs A Hero was one of my favorite albums, despite its being HEAVILY underrated. I would even go as far to say that their lineup with Al and Jimmy is my favorite.
When I started playing I was amazed how Hetfield plays guitar and sing at the same time. It was too hard for me, I thought he was the best on it. Now looking at Dave, this looks impossible to play those hard riffs with really odd time signatures and sing at the same time. Singing and playing metallica is a kids play compared to this.
***** Did you ever try to listen to a Megadeth song? It doesn't matter if you're a Metallica or a Megadeth fan you must admit that Megadeth consist of more complicated riffs then Metallica.
+redgibson1 Dyer's Eve is good for a Metallica song, but Dave is on a much higher level than James, as a composer, lyricist, player, and singer. And much better melody and groove

yeah, this could be actually my favorite song, i just love it, the prechorus, chorus, the riffs are awesome, and the buildup at the bridge, the transition for the solo. This song is genius
It makes me so glad to see and hear young rockers ! Born in 1953- I say- there’s hope for the World 🌎. Metallica is very fine too !! ❤. ROCK ON, my friend~ ⚡️🌈⚡️
I've spent my day today to learn the guitar line of this song. Slowly I'm getting used to in it :) I play along for about two hours and I love it much more than before... Megadeth ROCKS! :)
MEGADETH is one of the best metal bands ever !!! I don´t know why some perople still try to compare them to Metallica, Dave has his very own style. I saw MEGADETH the last year when they came to Peru and they´re fucking aweasome !!!
Before Dave endorsed ESP, he had his own custom Jackson USA flying V's, I think called "Y2KV". Pickup wise, I'm pretty sure he was using Seymour Duncan 59 or a jazz in the neck, and a duncan JB in the bridge. He had some awesome custom models, as well as Marty Friedman. Jackson has made some the coolest and best playing guitars I've ever seen and or had the pleasure of touching.
This is a really cool solo, and his best one on the album. I think even non-players can listen to this one and enjoy it. There's a clip on the 'Tube, of Al playing with Alice Cooper back in the day. It's a 3-minute solo before the song "Poison." He plays really good there.
because after the album, dave got an nerve injury in his arm, and his doctors said that he would not be able to play guitar again, so in 2002 he broke the band up. after some intense physical therapy he regained his ability to play guitar and decided to reform the band. he called up all of his ex band mates and most of them turned him down. nick menza did join when he called but dave released him after a week saying he just wasn't ready. but chris poland plays guitar in TSHF which is pretty cool
yeah, thats david ellefson. he was Megadeth's bassist since they began. (dave mustaine and david ellefson formed the band) then in about 2000-01, mustaine had injured his arm which stopped him from playing guitar so the band broke up for a while. when mustaine had healed from the injury, he reformed the band, picking up new band members. So anyone you see there, except mustaine (vocals) are not in the band anymore.
0:05 "Wanna tell you a story" 0:08 "'Bout a woman I know" 0:10 "When it comes to lovin" 0:13 "Oh she steals the show" The intro sounds so much like Whole Lotta Rosie by AC/DC haha

@6393dude : untrue. I'm a drummer myself, and Nick Menza and Gar Samuelson were WAY more agressive and fast in there playing ;) and the sound of Nick Menza's Greg Voelker Rack System kills this drum sound!

@xthrash666x He didn't sell out. If anything, he did the opposite of selling out: Playing the kind of music he truly loves. I'll bet you he made at least twice as much in Megadeth as he does alone.
Mustaine is, without a doubt, the greatest thing that has happened to metal in the 80s. Dave, on top of creating the amazing Megadeth, showed Hetfield how to play guitar and he showed Kerry some of his stuff, therefore touching 3 out of the big 4. I like Anthrax alot but never could they have put Thrash Metal on the map all by themselves. That man basically single handedly invented this beatiful genre (to some degree). For that, Sir Mustaine, I bow before you and think you fucking rule.
BEST.
SOLO.
EVER.
+saamohod It's an excellent solo. Definitely a memorable one. One of my favorite solos in the Megadeth catalogue.
saamohod INCORRECT. Tornado of souls.
Ethan Fink It is a good solo. But there are a lot of other good Marty Friedman solos like Lucretia.
No

Bill
Most people don't know he has written A LOT of music for a lot of bands in the 80s Dolken ,Y&T,Celine Dion ,Asia etc etc

+redgibson1 excuse me sir. Have you heard holy wars by Megadeth, go listen to it, and then shut up

Al-Pitrelli, is Megadeth Mentor Audition for Marty
This solo has been haunting me for years.
This is also the version used for the 'Rude Awakening' album
this is one of the best megadeth solos.
SO FUCKING AWESOME
because after the album, dave got an nerve injury in his arm, and his doctors said that he would not be able to play guitar again, so in 2002 he broke the band up. after some intense physical therapy he regained his ability to play guitar and decided to reform the band. he called up all of his ex band mates and most of them turned him down. nick menza did join when he called but dave released him after a week saying he just wasn't ready. but chris poland plays guitar in TSHF which is pretty cool

0:05 "Wanna tell you a story"
0:08 "'Bout a woman I know"
0:10 "When it comes to lovin"
0:13 "Oh she steals the show"
The intro sounds so much like Whole Lotta Rosie by AC/DC haha

This is the tip of the blade, the Edge. Impossible to beat this band.

@xthrash666x He didn't sell out. If anything, he did the opposite of selling out: Playing the kind of music he truly loves. I'll bet you he made at least twice as much in Megadeth as he does alone.
This is better than the studio version! \,,/

what's yours is mine and what's mine is mine too if you shake my hand better count your fingers
Oh dear god...Megadeth is fucking amazing live
3:00 ...ESPECTACULAR!!!!
One of the rare version of a long that is absolutely better than the studio version.
Mustaine is, without a doubt, the greatest thing that has happened to metal in the 80s. Totally agree... that guy was unlucky... after one album he had to leave cause Dave had his arm problem and the bad was about to be over !
