I served in the military for 20+ years. This song came out early in my career. Every time we had marching drills, this song was always in my head.

“When you kill one, it is a tragedy. When you kill a million, it is a statistic.”
J. Stalin
The age old cry of the psychopath, the kind of person that considers life to be worthless.
@박정옥 disney stuff is over rated and theres a reason why people can say something is 'hollywood' about a movie....more then one good concept that been ruined by that.. guess disney made some better stuff last years at the same time you can still see ther founders antisemit reflexes in its history and way of working last i heard any 'insights' about it as a coperation.
I quoted that to my history teacher back in 8th grade when red alert came out and he got pissed and told me Stalin did not say that.
That's not Stalin's quote, the correct quote by Erich Maria Remarque is this: "Death of one person is a tragedy, death of a million is a statistic"
this breaks me up, tears in my eye.
This reminds me how EA fucked everything up.
If any westwood people read this, thank you so much for these awesome games.
edit: this will now be played at my funeral, rock out one last time!!

Friend, EA didn't f'k everything up, capitalism did, how do you think a monster like EA came into being? because capitalism incentivises the maximization of profits which means capitalists are incentivised to crush or buy out smaller entities via mergers and acquisitions in order to limit competition in the market place and absorb their market share via such anti competitive practices, yes I know this is precisely the opposite of what people are told regarding how capitalism works, but that is precisely why they are misinformed regarding actual reality, that capitalism is a top down anti democratic anti competitive system over the long term as what was a small entity decades past nuzzles its way through usually via lots of bribery and corruption and public subsidy to become global giants with more power than governments.
Capitalism is the problem, EA is a symptom of it. I lament the loss of truly great studios with good people over the last 30 years, from bullfrog to Klei, whose employee's who built the company and products, came to work one day to find their handful of owners above them all had been bribed to sell up to a larger entity who duly fires half of them and destroys the freedom and creativity of those that remain by amalgamating them into a larger machine concerned only with increasing profit margins as fast as possible in order to increase dividend payments to a handful of major investors/owners, for no work themselves, that is taxed at half of the rate of the workers wages who created the wealth extracted via dividends.
The game is rigged.

Worst for me had to have been playing the Soviets with my base on a beachhead. Some filthy bastard destroyer snuck up on my base and levelled all my infrastructure before I realised anything was wrong. I sent my Wolfpack of submarines after it in revenge before destroying their base. Eventually I had one lone helicopter left to destroy, which had no place to refuel, and was just landing and taking off in place. Of course I had NOTHING that could shoot the bastard down and no way to build anything. I had to resort to cheat codes to summon a nuke to kill it.
It's a crime this isn't featured more often on Gaming top ten track lists.
There's this song, then the top ten list begins.
The soundtrack of strategy games are very underappreciated in the gaming community, even though it's a song from a strategy game that won a grammy (Baba Yetu from Civ 4) and not a song/track from RPG or Adventure genres that most gamers usually listen to.

As I sat with my best friend in his attic room back then, him having been graced with top notch PC tech for the time by his dad, playing C&C for days and nights on end, we would very often end up picking the songs played manually in the game. Rest assured that it was Hell March at least 60% of the time, often 10x in a row.
Life was so simple and nice back then man, thanks for the memories!
Me and my brother played this endlessly on my father's Dell laptop. We learned prism tanks are op and Kirov's are the coolest units. It still holds up so good. The mechanics and music all just go so well together. I see youtube vids of people still playing it.
