I feel very similar to you, I love this game but I don't think it's perfect. The Enhanced mod is definitely awesome and completely necessary. They actually just announced that they have finally done everything they want to with it and put out their final update. They did such an awesome job, I'm hoping they will start working on one of the other Silent Hill games or at least another game of some sort.
When I think of Silent Hill I always think of my friend because he loves these games. He was lucky enough to buy most of them before they were expensive. Anyway he loves to see my reaction to stuff and he lives pretty far away, so I always share my screen to him when I play Silent Hill. We're actually in the middle of playing Silent Hill 4 right now because I'd never played that one before. I'm looking forward to you doing a video on that one because it is very different lol.

Edit: Oh yeah you should put the puzzle difficulty all the way up in the remake. In the original the puzzles are challenging but really rewarding on max difficulty.
O man see I played it like 1 month ago almost exactly so maybe I missed that update!!! And o man that's awesome, glad you're able to share that with him!! Yeah I definitely want to play the others and I will, and I would like to snag them physically very very slowly and over time lol
@@podcastnowbacktothepastbest thing id suggest for thr silent hill games are the japanese versions. They are very cheap, 2-4 are. They have english subtitles in that version, nothing big is changed too. Silent hill 1 sadly didnt get this treatmemt.

If you want the hd collection for your collection, ok I get it. But if you want to experience these games, especially part 3 please play it any other way (pcsx2) the hd collection really hurts the games.

I love the original Silent Hill 2, but it has its imperfections. I try to hear out people when they talk about the voice acting, but I have criticisms on the acting. I was never a fan of the locked doors, the tank controls, and the janky combat. But what dragged me into the game was its story, characters, and atmosphere. I'm sure the remake will satisfy me and keep what made the game special.
I'm very much in your camp. It's a special game for a lot of reasons but not a perfect game by any means. Room for improvement and I hope the remake does that
