I'm assuming the kaiju are attempting to evolve by taking over human bodies and Kafka is an anomaly that overcame the Kaiju's will or something along those lines. Developing Kafka as a surrogate father//brother figure for Kikoru is wholesome, I dig it. Looking forward to them teaming up in the future.
