To everyone claiming it was self defense and that he went for the gun or whatever, as a private citizen you cannot restrict or stop another free man's travel for any reason whatsoever except to perform a Citizen's arrest. However, you must have personally witnessed an actual crime, you can't just try to citizen arrest someone who's "Suspicious." Before you say something like "He was trespassing and that's a crime," No he wasn't. You have to be told that you are trespassing and be given the opportunity to leave before you can be deemed as trespassing. The moment they blocked him from his freedom of movement without witnessing an actual crime, it became false imprisonment and at that point, the victim had every right to defend himself from his captors. Self defense is a two way street.

I think the race grifters were either confused, or saw more opportunity to make money off the Kenosha trial. Unlike the Kenosha trial, this case actually has race as one of it's components). That is a nerve-racking thing to go through.... esp when you've never done it before and you are testifying in a capital murder case... one with all this media attention to boot. Hell even if he has testified in other trials, I bet not one iota of it was covered by the media, or streamed live etc. As someone else said, we gotta be careful we aren't just creating issues where there aren't any... Hell it already happens so much we are damn near at a point where every single thing that happens is having race/identity injected into it as it is.... I mean just look at the Kenosha trial... even now with all the facts and video proof of the whole thing right there for the world to see, we still have the race grifters and even some politicians and media pundits out there still claiming his assailants were POC! Like wtf!?! Idk what's worse, the fact so many of these so called "journalists" still pushing these lies/this false narrative even now with the trial over and the truth/facts out there, or that there are still people out there who believe them

I just had to look up everything I could on this. I've watched the story unfold, but I wanted to know about this officer. He was the first on scene. Now, I'll try not to be too harsh on Mr. Minshew, but my first concern was that he is a former police officer at this time, and I wondered if it were due to possible pressure from his department. The answer to that is no. I was concerned then that possibly the trauma of this trial and events forced him out. I think not. Here's why. I've been three times caught up in events that forced me to try and save someone's life. In particular one time I had a 'last gasping' victim spit up and throw up in my mouth. I kid you not on that, and I'm sorry to remember it so clearly today. But the thing is you always tend to the victim first. Always. In battle you do the same thing. Most times you hope it's a medic who is nearby, often it's your buddy. Regardless, you lend aide. The fact that Mr. Minshew claimed that Ahmaud was still breathing, even if he says last gasps, means he did not roll him over, did not clear his airways, did not try to administer any aide, and that was for what reason? I don't care what he was worried about. The guys I know that have done that did it when there was gunfire going off, and explosions around you. I don't expect every police officer today to know of these things, but I do expect all of them to recognize they are definitely full time policemen, and sometimes part-time medics. He should have tended to Mr. Arbery first. I find his explanation wanting at best, and unforgivable at worst. I'm glad he has a different job now. I hate being that harsh on the young man, and he has a full life ahead of him I hope. But Mr. Arbery does not. Tend to the wounded first, always. Mr. Minshew did not kill Mr. Arbery, but our way of thinking may have. Which includes the thinking of these defendants.

Without the video they would have never seen the inside of a courtroom. I don't know if the lawyer was stupid or wanted them brought to justice.

@Charlotte when black people kill white people and are caught, they are indicted and usually convicted. And sometimes with circumstantial or no real evidence.

If they are found not guilty then that means material things mean more then a human beings life. I hope they find him guilty. Call the police people. Do not take law in your own hands. This is 2021 not 1940 or 1960s.

@Ron Cashe you should watch the video of 6 other occasions on that SAME DAY OF WHITE PEOPLE entering that SAME structure and THEY WERE NOT LYNCHED. Stop being a racist, divisive, self-righteous, lying jerk. How do you know he went in to steal? Who steals without a sack or something to conceal the article? Stop ruining this country, go off and be miserable by yourself and leave the rest of us civilized citizens to get back to building this nation. You’re HORRIBLE.

So naive!!! The price is death!!! Wake up!!! They're killing us. None of these dumb-ass reasons you're single mean anything once you're dead. And that's what you'll be if you're black and meet a cop on a dark

The officers at the scene WANTED to bring them in. When they called it in, the response was not to arrest anyone. See the D.A. that lost her seat, and likely much more, due to the favoritism she showed them. Her trial was last month(?). Anyway, the result of all her efforts to protect GREG McMichael, wound up getting the GBI, AND, the FBI involved.
