I just bought this exact same chainsaw last week at my local Menard's down the street. It works great for cutting large stumps, and thick branches. However when I get into the skinny branches it likes to throw the chain off. I also have a Snap-On sawzall, but the chainsaw seems to be the most effective method to chop it all up with one tool. I've tried several different tightening methods, but the chain keeps flying off anyway. Maybe this will help you with a new video. Thank you for sharing this my man!!!👍👍👍

Make sure to keep the chain oil reservoir filled as much as possible. Lack of lubricant on the chain and bar and associated friction can contribute to the chain popping off. Another issue is the angle at which you are holding the chainsaw. If you go in at one angle then change the angle mid cut the bar and chain are now at different angles and it will be looking to jump. Combine that with low lubrication and you have just increased the chances of it jumping off. Of course, dull teeth will add to the friction issue. Good luck!! May make another video on this.

@@spriggdude6195 I always keep the oil full. Perhaps you're right about changing angle mid cut. I'll have to pay closer attention to that. Thanks for the advice.

The auto brake feature is really nice too if you value having all of your fingers intact. I paused the video right before I got to that part!!!🤣🤣🤣

Vehicles are going electric....gas will be rising through the roof...2 stroke oil through the roof...and this saw can be run for literal PENNIES an hour....we bought the 16 inch model...and love it. We have a 48 cc gas powered....and it actually sounds like it is bogging through a cut, but the 12 amp 16...saws like butter... We use a NOMA 14 gauge 98 foot cord that can carry 13 amps, so our 12 amp saw is just fine....and if we need to go beyond our residential property...into the woods...we just take our portable AC generator (gas fired) and away we go. BTW the 'teeth' is called a buck-plate...so the saw will not face kick you.....

An Oregon D72 20” 72 .Bar and chain fits this chain saw. Seems to cut faster

Hello thank you for your video. My chainsaw was misused in last fall to cut hedge so it was jamed by some small twigs and leaves, I had cleaned those before storing it in winter. But I find it cannot start when I take it out yesterday. It is an electrical type. Could you please suggest what the problem would be? Thanks a lot.

If you take side panel off you may find an issue with trigger contact

My 16" Greenworks does not have auto brake. It is so light weight and out-performs my gas chainsaw.

Ours too! We have a 48 cc gas...and it bogs, where our GreenWorks 16 inch cuts with no bogging down. Great torque...electric chain saws is the way of the future!....

Got this for my husband. Directions are stupid. We don't know how tight to have the chain to start. We hear like a clunk noise.

It certainly has to be tight enough so the chain guides keep the chain firmly on the bar. I like a small amount of play in the chain to where when the chainsaw is sitting on a flat surface you can see a small amount of chain drooping on the bottom (1/8"). By this I mean small, so just shy of chain being firmly against bar. The more play you have in the chain more risk you have of the chain jumping loose from bar. This is especially the case when you are cutting at angles where the bar is closer to parallel with ground. However if it is too snug you creating too much friction between chain and bar. If the clinking sound is when you let go of the trigger it is probably the auto chain break which is a nice safety feature. Not sure how well this feature holds up over time. You also want to make sure you keep the oil reservoir is plenty full. Keeping your chain lubricated is very important. Hopefully , the Greenworks site information will be useful.

I have this chainsaw and it's garbage!!! Every 5 minutes, the chain pops off the bar. It's in the housing properly, and always nice and snug.
Even when cutting 2" branches it pops off. In between cutting, I always make sure the chain is still snug. If it keeps falling apart with small branches, then what is the point of this thing?!?!
