There’s an aspect of Gon’s power that I’ve not seen anyone talk about, Gon always ask his opponents a question or ask them to do something and I think that’s one of his condition, whenever his opponent tries to lie of deceive him they then meet his condition and remove the restrictions he placed on himself, Gon developed this nen ability to kill and it’s effective because it will only work on an opponent that is a true enemy, Gon’s nen ability is about deception, while his opponent thinks he’s foolish and easy to deceive; they themselves are being baited into fulfilling Gon’s conditions, the way Gon attack is also deceptive because it can be Rock, Paper or Scissors and he can also fake the attack which is overlooked by most opponents meaning the weakness in his attack can become an strategic advantage, but I think Gon choose these conditions because he wouldn’t use his power to kill a friend, however if you betray him then you’re dead.

*Theory:* "Gon will return and his use of a massive amount of Aura, will increase his overall output. It is impossible for Gon not to be able to use Nen, as Wing-san explains aura as being your life energy and you would grow tired quickly if you didn't stop its release. Most likely, Nanika healed Gon fully, which also closed his Nen apertures, which would be required for Gon to have stable Nen for his smaller body. I believe this is why Wing-san made Gon practice the other Nen before at Heaven's Arena, which resulted in his Nen being much smoother."
Amendment to this theory. When he made the vow, he lost his natural talent and reserves for aura, not his capability to get it back. Therefore he has to train really hard to get back to where he was and that process will make him stronger than even his current capacity at that moment. This could be the thing that humbles Gon, that makes him more hero-like (really just less selfish) than he is through out the series.
I honestly think that one of the reasons Gon doesn't have his nen back, besides the nen restriction he put on himself, is because he's hit a mental block. Maybe he feel's like he doesn't deserve it back.
This is literally the reason I stopped watching Hunter X Hunter, is because Gon was such a great OP character and could have been apart of the storyline longer then he had been. I hope they bring him back because I will never watching Hunter X Hunter until he's apart of the storyline again. That's how much I like this character and so did others as well.😔📣
Thesis: Gon has been completely reset in all aspects regarding nen, but he retained the training his body undervent while using nen that made it possible to be pushed beyond normal human capacities. As his nen is reset by nanika Gon have a new affinity based off of all his life experiences, but choose to awaken it slowly over time at whale island while finishing his studies. We will end up with a more emotionally stable and smarter Gon that think before he acts, effectively making him able to function on his own. As he's still a hunter he picks up hunter related jobs after finishing normal school.
I believe that Gon's transformation was pretty accurate to his actual Nen affinity, because he quite literally "enhanced" his body to endure all of the massive aura that generated from the vow.
Why isnt it just Enhancement, i wonder all the time. Why is everyone hyping him and Bisky up so much? One is Manipulation and the other Enhancement. No need for Special-Type?? ?

I think Adult Gon Could have been Stronger like he got the body but he didn't have the Mastery of the skill, he was using Jajanken Level 2, to fight Pitou, just think if Gon had trained Naturally He might have become stronger than even Meruem, slowly learning nen and changing his Technique forming into something that is strong enough to kill Even Meruem or Maybe more but he just sacrificed all of this for raw strength but well he might have died against Pitou if he didn't use it so it doesn't matter anyway. I am thinking how Strong would Killua be when he is Adult now.
Yeah! I think so too! Many believe that adult gon is "if gon trained years" but my interpretation of it is just "i gve my life for more power" kind of way. So if gon were to truly train, get more experience, improve his hatsu or mybe even perfect it to be able to charge quickly (who knows) he couldve gotten way stronger. Also, killua adult will be a monster uwu. When will the hiatus stop!
@@F0stngeh I guess it was what it was, I think we can not call it simple Enhancment because he Somehow grew to the form which had enough power to beat Pitou, I think he physically reached the state he could have reached if je trained Naturally but not mentally, it is like giving a Tank to a Normal person who has some knowledge of how to drive it. If Gon haf reached that strength Naturally he might have perfected his Jajanken, he might have created more versions, he might have learnt how to concentrate his destructive power, he might have learnt Different Strategies. But instead he was same old boy of 13 years age who had an incomplete Hatsu moved by Pure Despair and Anger. He could have been Stronger but he wasn't able to become stronger

I personally believe that Leorio's Arc of becoming a doctor is going to end with him curing Gon and fulfilling himself in the process. I HIGHLY doubt that Gon is no longer going to be the main protagonist of the story.
Honestly round 2 of jajaken is by far the most interesting part of the attack. Imagine Gon using multiple jajaken in a fight, going to round 5, 6, 7, it would’ve been cool to see something like that and hopefully we will if the manga gets to Gon and Gyro.

I have no idea if someone mentioned this already but in the series or I believe in the monger, gons dad said that he can still sense the flow of aura coming from him and apparently if his aura was shut off 100% complete when he made that Vow, No one would be able to sense his aura, which means there is a chance because he’s so young, there is a chance that he will be able to get it back
like others have mentioned maybe Gon being healed by Alluka was her completely closing and "restarting" his body. He will have to study nen all over again
I'm really happy that you brought up something I don't hear many people say, which is that it can be inferred that the whole "first comes rock" chant is actually a condition. As you said, I think it was a subconscious thing rather than an actual decision he made -- but the brilliance of it is that it's perfect for him as an inexperienced Nen user. The chant gives him time to gather the Nen he needs so, in a way, it's almost a zero-cost restriction while still providing the benefits of a restriction. The next step, once Gon would have gotten better at concentrating his Nen in his hand (had the *thing* not happened), would have been to eventually get better at "Rap God"-ing the chant like Eminem, sort of like how Netero's prayer movement became extremely quick and optimized after years of standing in one spot doing the same punches over and over again (though whether Gon would have been able to take it that far is anyone's guess). As for Pitou's remark that "his fangs may even be able to sink into the King," we should keep in mind that she's thinking of pre-bomb Meruem -- she was never around him after he left to fight Netero. So even in that form, I'd guess that Gon had quite literally 0 chance to beat post-bomb Meruem.
These are my theories with hope that Gon would regain his Nen back; that he can upgrade his Jajanken into an advance level. A. Upgraded Skill Set: Enhancement 1. *Jajanken Rock: Supernova* - an advanced level of Jajanken Rock with the destructive power similar to Uvogin's Big Bang Impact or even higher. Transmutation 1. *Jajanken Scissor: Whip* - a whip with a fish hook at the tip that is made from nen. Adding to Gon's arsenal, aside from sword, perfect for suppressing an opponent while being conscious. Also useful for Gon to make himself suspended in a hanging surface. 2. *Jajanken Scissor: Warhammer* - a warhammer made from nen. Adding to Gon's arsenal, aside from sword, perfect for crushing/smashing opponents with high defense. 3. Other possible variants of Jajanken Scissor such as scyte, halberd, staff, spear, dagger, etc. Emission 1. *Jajanken Paper: Supernova Blast* - an advanced level of Jajanken Paper 2. *Jajanken Paper: Meteor Shower* - a lesser version of Jajanken Paper in which Gon fires a barrage of energy blasts creating a continuous damage over time. 3. *Jajanken Paper: Armageddon* - a combination of the aforementioned. Sound too overpowered but possible considering the late chairman's last words on his dying moment declaring the humanity's capability to evolve. Gon is no exception for this statement. B. Complex Skill Set: 1. *Jajanken: Aegis* - a combination of _enhancement & transmutation_ in which Gon creates a shield, made from nen, capable of blocking any projectile attacks such as Franklin's Nen bullets. 2. *Jajanken: Cuirass* - an _enhancement & transmutation_ combination in which Gon clad himself with cuirass made from nen. In this way, Gon can attack and defend at the same time. 3. *Jajanken: Fish Net* - a combination of _emission & transmutation_ in which Gon fires a fish net, made from nen, capable of suppressing, immobilizing, or hold fast any potential target or object. 4. *Jajanken: Force Field* - a combination of three nen category _(enhancement, transmutation, & emission)_ in which Gon creates an energy shield capable of blocking any projectile attacks from every angle. The force field does not only protect Gon but also any people within it around him. 5. *Jajanken: Force Blast* - same principle applied to Force Shield but mainly for offensive purpose. With this technique Gon can nullify any projectile attack and shove any hindrances that blocks the way while protecting your self. Sorry, i'm just being imaginative here. Hehe
What if Bisky is JUST using Manipulation? And Gon just Enhancement? Really, it's just the wish to explain stuff with Specialist-Nen, when it's not even needed. Bisky and Gon probably never used Specialist Nen.
One way he could get his nen back is because what he performed was a specialist ability so I think it’s plausible that he could reawaken or use some sort of specialist ability it could be a really cool way to give more light to specialist ability’s

I was watching a powerscaling video and apparently there's a yu yu Hakusho guide book with a bonus hunter hunter guide in the back that scales gon past merum around rose merum level
That doesn't mean that an adult gon with all that power and experience couldn't have defeated him... King had a lot of power but not that much experience or nen talent
Wouldn’t be opposed to having some form of “nen retcon” where gon just starts training super hard and develops his body to the point where he doesn’t need nen to achieve the same power he had before, that would just be his “base form” something akin to a heavenly restriction in jjk
With transmutation you can shape your Nen into a sword, but you can also do that with manipulation too right? Or can you with manipulation just manipulat your body like Illumi or is this Transmutation too?
Great content as always! I wonder if ENHANCERS could enhance something other than physical attributes. Like could an enhancer focus his nen to artificially increase his intellect or charisma? I cannot remember specific instances in the show where somebody used their hatsu for this kind of application, though i did not really read the manga so im not quite sure.

“Retired” Gon with no Nen abilities is still a boy who is capable of passing the hunter exam at 12 ( took Hisoka’s badge) stronger & faster than most human adults, and still possessing incredible endurance, pain, tolerance, and resolve. As I understand it, he just has to relearn everything. And everything he learned took around one year.
Never realized this but natural enhancers are really strong and could put up a fight next to specialists. The lowest mastery rate they have is around sixty, while specialists have a natural talent in all types of nen being able to master and use them all at an efficient pace, enhancers are basically half of that, so I can see why people would like to have enhancer or special more then any other now, thanks for the info.
Still a novice in HxH but I have a question relating to adult gon and the conditions of the form as mentioned in other comments. As I understand it the conditions were 1) Give up he ability to use nen and 2) give up all of his natural talent. So with condition 2 does that mean the 1;10 million talent was erased leaving gon potential ro use nen again but at the level of a regular person? and could or did nanika undo condition two? edit: removed accidental timestamp
i always believed that gon created a nen contract to get to his max power basically a contract stating something like (give me all the power i will ever have to kill this one person and you can have my life and nen) kinda like kurapika did only his condition was that he wont be able to use chain jail on anyone but the spider and if he does he will die.
I've always loved this conversation. Considering how gon uses then, Adult Gon really does just seem like a hyper extreme enhancer ability. Instead of just condensing all of his nen, he condensed all of his POTENTIAL NEN. Literally turning himself into a hyper rock of sorts. This is just my opinion though😅
I think Gon by the Chimera Ant Arc was Phantom troop level because if how he was tossing squad captains like nothing while phantom troop members were sometimes having a hard time with them
@Hans Hanzo Funny you guys said this. I remember a while ago stating that even though I keep up with MHA it just lacks the darkness of HxH to keep me wanting more. I can't compare nen to MHA quirks though.. We're still learning about nen after all this time since Togashi released the last couple chapters. Now there is a lot of potential with Mirio making MHA darker.. But I think the anime is way too stereotypically Shonen to amount to anything darker than Naruto
@@d7omi111 Not knowing is actually pure potential. How? Why? When? Where? will eventually be a thing but the question is how complex/engaging will it? Hope they don't screw it up!
What’s interesting is that Wing makes note of their correct intuition to assume natural stances to begin learning and controlling their nen in Heaven’s Arena, but two steps later, if deliberate and consistent enough, performing techniques in unnatural ways can increase the resulting hatsu as those consistent unnatural processes (like Netero’s 100 GB prayer) become extremely strict or potent nen restrictions. If you can make something that is unnatural so consistent to your nature that it feels like a natural movement or technique, like breathing, the nen around that technique becomes that much stronger. So much nen theory to be had. Fuckin wild.
It gonna be bleach moment ngl mugetsu lost all sp ability going back to normal life then something happen and boom you back being protagonist but I think his awaken of nen gonna be somewhere in dark continent
I think you’ve forgotten that the idea behind “Rock Paper Scissors” is that every attack has a weakness/counter and that each of the three can counter any opponent based off what they see.
Thread to discuss adding depth to Gon's Hatsu. A sub technique that allows Gon to switch attacks ( much like a kid cheating in rock paper scissors) mid call in exchange for 50% of the overall charged up power

@@christopherrivera1673 I doubt it would be that easy! It'd be a better story if he used On for a few months, then start training to regain Nen & succeed years later. He's between 14 & 15 now, so him regaining Nen around 17 sounds good!
@@insanemakaioshin I dont think he should awaken nen like this. Everything he did in chimera ant would then become meaningless and would feel cheap. I'm still excited to someday see how Gon goes about his new life. For example, as he's no longer pressed to progress as fast as possible, will he go for the path of relearning nen in a more traditional way rather than forcing an initiation? Will he go for a different ability now that he has nothing rushing him, or will he even care to pursue a life that requires nen mastery now that he accomplished his original goal? He's learned from the experiences he went through and he can reflect on what he really wants to do, so no matter what I'm sure it'll be interesting to see how he chooses to progress toward his still boundless potential.

This vid gave me the chilling thought of gon and netero vs meruem. Netero’s inhuman speed could defend gon while gon charges up his jajanken. And instead of performing the zero hand, netero can capture meruem in that same way so that gon can connect his rock jajanken attack.
if adult gon didn’t happen. and he kept on naturally working on his nen ability by practicing and refining, it would of been really interesting to watch. because i can’t help to think his jajanken was still the first step of what his ability could of grown into. what if he added more limitations and risk/reward factors? and it ended up resembling more like a rock paper scissors game? like if he had to already have one of the attacks in his head while taking his charging stance. and whatever his opponent does, acted as either a rock paper or scissors also for his nen ability and rules. depending if he got the winning combination or not it would be good. vice versa, bad. it’s a really simple take on the risk/reward factor so that’s why i think it would of been really strong. an extreme version of rock paper scissors lol. he might of already been planning to do something like that who knows. but got interrupted in the end. but either way whatever his jajanken could of grown into would of been entertaining to watch:)
I think there are 3 possibilities of what that power was at the end of the chimera ark: 1. It is just a vow kinda like what kurapika did with the limitation he put on himself that he would die if he did not only use it against the spiders but in a different category. 2. It is a family ability, either the vow could be a family ability or the power that he got was the family ability all in and of itself, also if this is true then don would have already mastered this ability making it so it has no backlash. 3. It was a power that came from the dark continent, it wouldn’t be surprising that it came from there but it could have been don freecs granting him that power or some other being that lives there and to get his nen back he will have to go to that being in the dark continent to get his nen back
The fact that Gon is left exposed while charging his Jajanken is a restriction that increases the strength of the overall attack. Enhancers have this tendency of placing these restrictions on themselves without noticing.
But it seems nobody believes Gon has a chance defeating Meruem. It's not that Pitou knew Gon could kill Meruem for sure, he just thought it would be possible.
you should talk about motaricke( he is the guy who tried to ambushed gon and killua in greed island to take the sword of truth) i always wondered how he got in the game
Gon is the type of protag that over the course of the series you start off liking then grow to dislike then grow to love before finally end up hating. His selfishness can not be understated. He appears altruistic at a glance but when it really matters to him he will put himself and his desires over a mission that has other people's lives on the line. I loved the series and would love for Gon to return but yeah - the kid is hella selfish lol
@@adamgettings2557 you are correct. and it is all good until it endangers others pointlessly. Of course one could argue that all's well that ends well.
I think the perfect development of Gon’s abilities could have happened if he developed some kind of Godspeed like technique with his aura. Something like a Jajanken Full Cowling allowing him to use his attacks more consecutively (they would obviously be weaker then his charged versions though) and maybe a power like this could boost his already impressive defense too an even higher level
Round Two only occurred because his opponent had his hand up ready to play another round. A part of the reason his ability is so strong and why it charges up is that he gives his opponent a longer period of time to respond with a "move". If the condition of losing was really high, his ability would be that much stronger.

A. Upgraded Skill Set:
Enhancement
1. *Jajanken Rock: Supernova* - an advanced level of Jajanken Rock with the destructive power similar to Uvogin's Big Bang Impact or even higher.
Transmutation
Emission
1. *Jajanken Paper: Supernova Blast* - an advanced level of Jajanken Paper
B. Complex Skill Set:

In my opinion, since he sacrificed his potential it will take him far, FAR longer to relearn Nen then it took him to learn it the first time.

Gon needs to be a nen specialist when he gets his nen back hope to see him bounce back and be stronger than ever

Gon will get his Nen back. He has the most powerful nen of all: PLOT ARMOR.
if adult gon didn’t happen. and he kept on naturally working on his nen ability by practicing and refining, it would of been really interesting to watch. because i can’t help to think his jajanken was still the first step of what his ability could of grown into. what if he added more limitations and risk/reward factors? and it ended up resembling more like a rock paper scissors game? like if he had to already have one of the attacks in his head while taking his charging stance. and whatever his opponent does, acted as either a rock paper or scissors also for his nen ability and rules. depending if he got the winning combination or not it would be good. vice versa, bad. it’s a really simple take on the risk/reward factor so that’s why i think it would of been really strong. an extreme version of rock paper scissors lol. he might of already been planning to do something like that who knows. but got interrupted in the end. but either way whatever his jajanken could of grown into would of been entertaining to watch:)
HxH is one of the best community ♥️
I think there are 3 possibilities of what that power was at the end of the chimera ark:

Gon is the type of protag that over the course of the series you start off liking then grow to dislike then grow to love before finally end up hating. His selfishness can not be understated. He appears altruistic at a glance but when it really matters to him he will put himself and his desires over a mission that has other people's lives on the line.
